  1. Hopefully, but it just goes to show the importance of squad depth. Imagine this happened (both Hazard & Oscar out) at some point last year for a longer length of time? No CL football me thinks...
  2. Anyone want to complain about having too many quality players now?
  3. I think people need to wait a few more weeks before complaining about rotation. Ok, maybe we'll have just 1 quality player as surplus because of the signing of Willian, but I think we really have to wait to see how it plays out. Although we do have some idea, we're not even 100% of where everyone will play yet. Last year we were complaining about the lack of depth and the fact that we were forced to play Mata, Oscar, Hazard nearly every game. We then complained about how tired they seemed later in the season. Hazard in particular seemed burned out just a few weeks in because he was asked to start 95% of games in our busiest season ever. An injury to any of the 6 changes everything, not to mention knocks and niggles they will undoubtedly get. We've never been in such a privileged position before in terms of depth, so we've no experience of it: therefore, I think people should seriously wait before complaining.
  4. Well at 15, sure, but the likes of Freddy Adu (remember him?) were being touted as being the world's next big thing at that age. Hazard is actually the same age as Kakuta, but world football never really heard of him until his 3rd/2nd last season a Lille. We all know that you can never really tell at that age, no matter how talented they may seem. I'm strictly talking about now since they're only 1 year apart from one another. They can be different types of players, but I just don't see much of a difference in terms of the level they're at. And since they're a similar age (Atsu 21, Kakuta 22) and since Kakuta will never touch our first team, I don't see this guy doing it. Especially when you consider the level Hazard (22), Oscar (21), de Bruyne (22) and Lukaku (20) are playing at already. Maybe if we signed the likes of Bruma (18) instead, I'd be a little bit more optimistic.
  5. To be totally honest, he looks like Kakuta 2.0 to me. Nothing really that special. It'll be interesting now since they'll be competing in the same squad!
  6. Hasn't scored one goal at Chelsea = One of the best Chelsea strikers ever ......?
  7. Thing I love the most is that he never stands still. Always calling for the ball, finding space or stretching the defence. That in itself is a big step up from the blonde statue we have...
  8. It would've been nice if he got the chance to start one measly fucking game. Then maybe we could see where he is exactly or see what José sees, but whatever. Really hope he does well and makes another mockery of the ladyboy from afar.
  9. Plus I'm pretty sure we don't need an economist to tell us to hit penalties high and hard...ffs. I study Psychology and stats, and while I find examining raw data like this fascinating, I still know better than to use such data as predictors. For penalties, it's simply in the moment. Instinct if you will. It's about taking the best possible penalty you can take at that moment. If you put it where you want it, the keeper doesn't stand a chance. And if you fill your head with too much 'plans', 'strategies', stats etc., you're just going to fuck with your own head more than anything else...as the article proves!
  10. I think it's becoming increasingly apparent that Moses was an afterthought when we couldn't get Schurrle at the time...
  11. Would've been a lot better if he went to West Brom with Steve. They need him much more than the bin-dippers, so he'd definitely be used week-in week-out there. He might just become a squad player at Pool for all we know...may as well have him here in that bloody case! Apparently we were asking for 3m +his wages just for the loan though. They must have caved since they saw Steve sniffing around. Not that bad considering it's pretty much paid for Astu!
  12. Or Lampard who 'cleared it' straight to a red shirt seconds before the equaliser. We had many chances to avoid penalties, so I think it's petty to blame a 20yr old who was the only one brave enough to take the last pen.
  13. You're trying to play some sort of victim card and I've no sympathy for you in the slightest. To elaborate on @Kojo and @Fulham Broadway post's; there's a difference between having a different opinion and having a different opinion while being a total prick about it, trying to shove down as many necks as possible just to get attention. Let me enlighten you all the one and only time I tried to converse with the attention seeker. It seemed to start around here, posted in the Essien thread: Oh look, minutes later, he posts the exact same thing in the Mourinho thread to make sure he broadcasts his message to as many people as possible: Now I did try to debate with the lad. I tried to say that José is a winner above all else and he wouldn't jeopardize winning for sentimental reasons, using the example of Pepe/Varane at Madrid. He didn't really seem to give a shit though as he just stopped responding. But that's not the point really. Now it seemed like he didn't get enough attention the last time because he drags the same shitty controversial argument up nearly two weeks later. To ensure maximum effect, he decides to insult Essien: So I find it funny when he says others don't respond 'in a civilised manner' when he says shit like this. Is this also what he considers a "minor opinion"? How are people supposed to respond to this shit? 'Oh, I do believe I disagree with your comment. I don't think Essien is a "useless bag of shit twat".' Forget about it. Like @Fulham Broadway said, this is a Chelsea forum full of Chelsea fans - you're bound to get hostile responses when you start posting arguments in this way. Especially when you keep dragging it up over and over again: Now I actually agree on some of the things you've said: everyone should be entitled to their opinion. However, I just don't think that you of all people should be taking some sort of fucking moral high ground on the issue. If you don't get the reaction you want, you'll do it again and again or in a more aggressive manner. Some of your posts are just assumptions (Essien) not based on any sort of fact. It's clear that many of your posts are done with the intent to breed hostility and arguments in the forum, you know this. You know exactly what you're doing when you do it, yet you have the balls to create this topic and complain about when you get hostile responses to your hostile posts. All I see is another ploy for attention. Well we're all looking at you now sam and, personally, I can't fucking wait for your response.
  14. Silly from Lukaku. He'll learn from that. Don't try the fancy stuff if you're nervous.
  15. Fucking Lampard! Kick it up the fucking pitch and not straight to a red shirt for fuck sake
  16. Just compare this to last year lads...against worse opposition too! Wow! We are going to be tough to break down this year!

  18. How many times have we said "If that chance fell to ANYONE but Torres, it would've been a goal."? Well, this isn't just anyone, Eto'o was one of the best finishers in the game. And it's not like he used to fly by defenders for every goal he's scored. A lot was down to close control and being in the right place at the right time. So even if he plays to 50% of what he was in his prime, it's x100 times better than Torres!
  19. The way he speaks and answers questions is quite different to any player whose done these first interviews in the past. He speaks like a manager. I think he's going to be absolutely fantastic to have around for the younger lads. Especially Lukaku.
  20. You know, I was actually hoping we'd get Napoli. I'd say we would've still toped the group, but we also would've had the entertainment of 'Mourinho Vs. Benitez', 'The Special One' Vs. 'The Interim One'. What reaction would Benitez get from the Bridge? What would he say? What would José say? The mind games, the insults... It would've been fucking brilliant!
  21. To be fair, I think the complainers have stopped! He comes on a free and takes a massive pay-cut. It tells us that he doesn't see this stint as a holiday or just an experience. It says he's committed to José's cause and will do pretty much anything to help the team; that's a x100 times better than the Ladyboy has been for the past 3 years!
