That's what I'm hoping for mate, because we all know Frank isn't the best (to say the least) as a DM. I would imagine he will be deployed as CAM though, as Rafa has made it pretty clear that Mazcar are overused; and he can hardly play as one of the wide AMs, tracking full-backs all day. I feel his mere presence on the pitch really shouldn't be underestimated.

I don't know about you guys, but even the sight of Frank returning to training has got me pumped! I know he won't solve all of our problems, but he will solve the biggest one we've had for the past couple of weeks: leadership. Let's hope it has the same effect on the team!

Dude, not only do you strike me as a fan of the backstreet boys, but also a major fan of Torres, as well as Rafa it seems. That's cool. I get it; everyone is allowed to have favourite players/managers. Great. But what I don't get is your constant, vehement defence of Torres and refusal to admit that he just not the player he was or the player we paid for. He's been given chance after chance, played in system after system and it's become pretty obvious that the route of the problem is that his legs are gone. So there's nothing the rest of the team or Benitez can do about that. All of your smiley faces could be troll faces for all I care, because you're now quoting his game against, probably, the worst team Torres has faced in a Chelsea shirt. I'm sure most people here don't count those goals and, judging by Torres 'celebration', he doesn't either. So if I didn't know any better, you're either a troll, a scouse having a laugh at our misfortune or a throughly deluded Torres fan; and I'm not so sure the most diehard of Torres' fans would argue like you have...

Thank you. The only way I see Mikel's new contract as being good is on the terms of him being an experienced body, for weaker teams, or to bring off the bench to sure up/slow down a game. However, if he was made promises of him being our "main man" in that position, then I'll be very sad indeed. We as a club can do better than Mikel.
-
Pot-kettle-black. Nonsense? Ok. Well good for you if you think Mikel is the best we can do. More power to you. However, if you don't like me or my posts, and if you don't have a logical argument, it's simple; don't respond to them like some sort of ignorant piss-ant trying to goad someone into an argument.

How about you suck The Mak's everlasting gob-dropper? Because if you don't like people complaining, you should step away from the internet, nevermind this forum.

Awh, that comment cheered me up! Haha! Seriously, the only way Torres could've remotely impressed me tonight is if he scored all 6 goals...and that's at a push. Still want him gone a.s.a.p. But at least he'll get some confidence from this...or will he? Emotional bastard.

Good god I hate you Mikel. I've been saying for years, there are plenty of DMs out there who can do what Mikel does, except they can also run and/or pass. Tiote and Cabaye are the two prime examples of what we need in a double pivot; one who sits back, has pace and breaks up play, while the other dictates from the back, getting the ball quickly, up the pitch (not slowly, sideways). I also blame him for us going out of Europe. He gave the ball away against Juve and then showed no desire whatsoever to make amends. Call it harsh, but as I said, I hate him.
-
1 more goal from us? How about not giving 2 away at home to Juve? How about Frank not getting skint by Vidal far too easily for the first or Mikel giving the ball away for the second and then showing absolutely no desire whatsoever to make amends. How about not playing a formation with 2 defensive-mids, when we basically don't have one decent defensive-mid.
-
Yeah...what he said.
-
As much as I hate Rafa, there better not be any booing at the full-time whistle. If they wanted to boo, they should've done so when we pissed away a 2-0 lead at home to Juve. I'll be very embarrassed to be a Chelsea fan if there is booing.

This headline in the Sun made me giggle: Chelsea have been told to back off Pep Guardiola or risk losing out on the former Barcelona coach. I have a vision in my head of Roman hiding behind a New York taxi, waiting for Pep to leave his hotel. Pep leaves with his children and Roman follows him, throwing wads of Rubles at him while exclaiming: "Y u no take job? I seduce you! I seduce you like all of my women, with Rubles!!!"

My partner's due date is in less than a week, so that made me giggle quite a bit! Why would he want to leave? Who else is going to give him 170k a week? This is what happens when you thrown stupid money at players. It should be written in their contracts "if you don't/can't do YOUR JOB, you don't get paid". Even if his contract was a standard 50-80k a week, with possible 50k bonus like, I dunno, SCORING A GOAL or small bonuses like MAKING A RUN, it'd be fine. Imagine the effort we'd get from players then. But no, for 170k a week, all we get is a moaning ladyboy.

When was that one of Mata mate? I can't remember. I thought it might've been when he missed the pen in the CL, but he's wearing this season's kit.
-
Anyone check Kevin's stats on the Bundesliga website? They're quite impressive! Says he has played the most minutes, excluding their goalkeeper...quite a welcome change from sending others out on loan! Decent in a tackle too. http://www.bundeslig...hp?player=43474

What about a 4-3-2-1, with Oscar and Ramires sitting along side a deep Mikel/Romeu? It would release Ramires' shackles a bit as we know he can track back, but he just looks uncomfortable as a DM. Not just that, but we basically don't have the players to play with 2 DMs (+ it seems Benitez doesn't want the full backs in the opposition half, so it's not as if we'll be loosing a great amount of defensive cover). Oscar is good at tracking as well (the job he did on Pirlo) and he has a good work-rate. Frank could easily slot in there too. I think it'd help connect the defence and attack a lot better. I'd like to play 2 up front, but I don't think it's an option until after January.

If FSW fucks this up, I don't care what anyone says, he is definitely gone. We better win it though.
-
I second that. Also, after what happened yesterday, no more players under 6ft or who a bit look a bit malnourished. I want a big, scary midfielder to win the ball for the little guys and a forward who'll actually strike some fear into the opposing defenders!

Sorry, I have to agree with BluesMaster. Mata's stats for the year and a half he's been here stands at 20 goals and 33 assists, which is absolutely phenomenal. He probably should've scored, yes, but we should be thankful we have such a quality player who gets into such positions in the first place. Also, with yesterdays goal, he has now surpassed Torres in goals for Chelsea. So forgive me if I'm not the first one to bash Mata.

Excuse me, but I just wanted to call people's attention to this shit right here: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-transfer-news-arsenal-line-1467938 I am now convinced the papers have two wheels in their sports writing departments. One labeled 'club' and the other 'player'. They spin each one to see what transfer story to write next, because that is the only way someone could come up with such a bullshit story (no matter how bad the paper is).

To be honest, I think that's being more realistic!
