Do you really expect us to bring worldclass midfielder for that 3rd/4th CM spot? Danny is a perfect solution, Sanches probably turned down Chelsea because he would not be 100% guarantee starter. Drinkwater on the other side is probably realizing that Leicester was one year wonder and with other midtable clubs investing big money, this could be another relegation battle season for them. He could provide great depth from the bench here, won some trophies and maybe even push for starting eleven if injuries/bad form happens. Tolisso and Sanches were destroyed by Emre Can and Henderson last night and I find Danny very similiar to Jordan Henderson type of player. But one is Liverpool captain and the other would be bench player for champions of England. The pessimism on this forum is becoming frustrating atm. His name is not as fancy as Sanches, Tollisso or Barkley but he would do the job! He would overtake Fabregas in peaking order instantly!

I don't know what your point is really? If you assume that Drinkwater doesn't want to join Chelsea because he will sit on the bench than who would you sign? A world class player to put Bakayoko on the bench or some lazy sh*t who is just after the money and doesn't care about playtime? We have more games this year and with Conte demanding more players we can expect more rotation. And if one player starts to underperform, he will be rotated as Ivanovic was early in the season and Matić when his performances dropped after new year. Once again - I think Drinkwater is a very good rotation midfielder if we can get him, at least better than Barkley (for our system)!!

Why are people assuming that Drinkwater is replacement for Matić? We already have Bakayoko, we only need central midfielder for rotation ... Drinkwater is actually way more suited for that central midfield role than Ross Barkley

Just gut feeling, I don't know Might do something with Matić leaving or just me hoping for things to get better

I think he will sign for us this week Sanches-Bakayoko would be HUGE upgrade over Chalobah-Matić.

Cahill and both wingbacks were poor We really need upgrades for Alonso and Moses or just move Azpi to RWB. He showed much better crossing than Moses and start Morata upfront with Musonda on the wing in community shield !

That's what I am talking about!! This forum is full of pessimism ... if we can somehow sign Alex Sandro and another decent RWB this would be a world class TEAM. It doesn't mean that we have 11 world class players but we have squad full of players that our manager wants and they fit his system!!! Maybe he was not our #1 target He clearly doesn't have a right mentality if he choose to sit on the bench once again ... Aurier, Ox, Ricardo Pereira still out there ... or maybe Conte wanted Azpi on RWB from day 1 and this rumours are all BS we just have to wait and see, our board is doing very good job ... we already replaced the only key player that left and biggest weaknesses from last season (CB and CM alongside Kante).

We need RWB and maybe even LWB more than we need attacking midfielder you don't say no to Alexis Sanchez but I would sleep tight even if we "only" manage to improve both our wingback positions Hazard, Willian, Pedro, Musonda, Baker, Boga ... more than enough quality, talent and depth IMO

Did you ever think that we were not interested in buying him at all? It looked like Dortmund were trying to get rid of him, offering him around just like I do in Football Manager game .... The whole media game got into your head. They are just writing bullsh*t to get views and to sell papers, they actually don't have a clue. We are just 2 signings away from world class squad. Apart from Costa we haven't lost any key player from last year and we already improve most of our weaknesses from last season -> Bakayoko for CM and Rudiger for CB. With new RWB (probably Danilo?) and striker we will have a much better team this year

This loan is cruical for his career in Chelsea I really liked him before injury but than he returned without preseason which is always hard ... even harder after ACL injury.

He shouldn't be an alternative, he should be our main target I would love to see him as our main striker over Aubameyang or any other rumoured player

Zidane is not stupid, he won't start the season with only one striker (Benzema). They will only sell Morata if they can get Mbappe instead

Striker and wingback dilemma is there to be solved. I would like to see both wingbacks upgraded and a new striker. We are pretty much packed at attacking midfield with Baker also in mix * I wouldn't say no to Sanchez if he is available, otherwise we don't need attacking midfielders
