  1. Exactly, seems like a way for them to balance the fee they're going to pay for Maatsen.
  2. At this point, it's obvious that whoever is feeding the data model is just a huge Football manager fan.
  3. Maatsen's going to Villa (unless some other club come in last minute).
  4. It's not just quality, it's also the lack of a focal point up top. Palmer can also have quiet games and teams will definitely target him next season as they know he's our likely goalscoring threat. Mudryk/Madueke produce flashes of brillance and then nothing....and then there's Sterling who has regressed badly since his City days. I feel Nkunku and a decent experienced striker would help us get over the line against those sides that always seem to get away with points against us.
  5. whilst that is true, those 'youngsters' will need to re-learn or adjust to Maresca's playing style....whereas if they had kept Poch, the club could have skipped that part of the process and used the pre-season to see if any of the youngsters/loan players should be considered for the first team squad. Going through managers so quickly can really impact young players development and what's the guarantee that Maresca will be able to get the best out of Enzo-Caicedo-Lavia.
  6. Yea, let's bring back the striker who wants nothing to do with the club. Best case is Conte gives us another season lifeline or some Saudi club gives him a 2 year deal which is too good to turn down and we can finally wash our hands. I knew when we sold Guehi a few seasons back that he would turn into a solid defender, he had that natural leadership trait as well (like a John Terry/Gary Cahill type). To think we had the likes of Tomori, Guehi, Livramento through the academy and none of them were really given consistent opportunities. If we signed Osimhen for 100+ million, I think every other club in the PL would ask us to be investigated and we would probably be docked points for spending way way too much. That's why the club is looking for 'cheaper' options.
  7. That's good but for some reason I don't see him joining us (if United are keen on him).
  8. Thiago Motta (who was Bologna's head coach just moved to Juventus), makes sense that a young player would want to follow their manager to continue their development...
  9. Not surprising that Arsenal have been linked with Hato for a number of months now.
  10. Werner hasn't been that great at Spurs either, even Leipzig didn't want to keep him as a squad rotation player... As for Mudryk, the problem for him will be the price tag. If he was another 35 million signing like most other wingers/players from Shaktar, the pressure would be less.
  11. Mudryk will end up being a bang average winger with that typical burst of pace. I just don't see him becoming a player who is going to score/assist 15 goals a season in the Premier League. That 70 million price tag (along with Fofana's transfer fee....considering the injuries he had at Leicester) will go down as two of the worst transfers in PL history.
  12. He'll fit right in with Reece! injury record
  13. That just sounds like someone from Villa's side trying to jack up the transfer fee for a player who would be nothing more than an impact sub right now. I'm not seeing any links for Duran from the other PL sides chasing European football next season...
  14. That would make sense as to why Tuchel pulled out of the race, he was talking up a return to English football for months. Who were the other candidates? De Zerbi/Poch/Southgate?
  15. If true, might be the best news of the transfer window....to get out of Sterling's contract! The most interesting thing would be how the club views Santos' development. Feel like another solid season on loan would be beneficial for him after wasting months at Forest.
  16. @Mário César @Vesper do you think Costa would be an upgrade on our current goalkeepers at Chelsea?
  17. If we're starting both Duran and Jackson next season, we'll be mid-table once again!
  18. Which makes no sense as Fofana was loaned to a PL club to prove himself and he was one of the bright spots for that Burnley team.
  19. If we're really looking for a striker, we should just get Solanke back. At least he's capable of getting 15+ goals in the PL. Unless Maresca has asked for another young striker....I just don't see how Duran helps us stay in the mix for European football next season.
  20. Super talented? The kid has potential for sure but he played like 10 times for Santos first team before we decided to spend 15 million on him. That's what I don't understand about signing and hoarding all these 18-19 year old players when they haven't even played a full season of first team football for their clubs in South America. Compare that to Angelo Gabriel, there's at least a decent sample size as he played 100 games for Santos before signing for us and then he was able to develop this season in Ligue 1.
  21. The only significant sale would be Gallagher (significant as in more than 40 million). Broja and Chalobah will be low ball offers and even Dortmund is trying to pay less for Maatsen.
  22. Exactly...and he's already got a history of knee problems, muscle problems, was recovering from a Cruciate injury last season. Imagine him trying to survive in the premier league. He'd do well with Conte at Napoli, seems like the right manager to get the best out of him.
  23. That's like the green light for our scouting department! Just waiting for the Romano updates to start 😆
  24. I thought Olise mentioned last season that his preference would be a move to United...
