that December/January run really cost us in the end. Draw with Everton, loss to Fulham, loss to Ipswich, draw to Palace, draw to Bournemouth.
-
if we are to actually compete against the big PL sides, we need a GK, at least 1 quality leader at CB and a proper striker. He's still a rubbish keeper and wouldn't be #1 choice at any other top 6-8 PL side. People forget that the Brighton manager lost faith in him and made him 3rd choice keeper at one point....and we still have him on the books as our so called #1 keeper 😆
-
I doubt he accepts a squad role after being guaranteed starter.
-
Even that's not guaranteed, Villa are on equal points, they have Spurs and United left. Forest have West Ham then us at home. If we don't beat United, might as well play the kids against Forest as we definitely won't beat them at their home ground.
-
That doesn't matter at all, United always turn up for games against us and you know Mount will be looking to score to silence the crowd.
-
Imagine peak Mourinho trying to manage the current squad 😆
-
I think the fact that we threw away top 4 (and potentially UCL football next season) actually helps the owners continue the 'buy young' strategy. Maybe if Maresca and the players were serious, we would have won those games against the likes of Ipswich...
-
Betis have enough to beat us as we're prone to mistakes but hopefully our big name players show up in the final and take it seriously.
-
Inter shouldn't even be in the final, Barca and Yamal hit the post like 50 times against them across both legs of the tie 😆 Would love to see PSG lift the title, just for the social media banter with Mbappe afterwards and Enrique deserves another title, definitely one of the better managers out there.
-
They play Liverpool and Newcastle in the PL, would be hilarious if for some reason they lost both games and City took 2nd spot
-
You left out United and you can bet they'll be up for a fight against us, especially after their recent Europa form.
-
Would say that's on Enzo as well. I don't recall us being that wide open for counters with Gallagher in the middle. That may be true but he's the only consistent midfielder we have in the squad. Enzo's had a mixed season and Lavia's barely played. Would hate to think what our points total would be without Caicedo in the lineup.
-
Its such a shame that we have to beat Newcastle & Forest away to have a shot at making the top 5. Good win against Liverpool, nice to see Palmer finally get back to scoring, when he hit the post from that tight angle, I thought it wasn't going to be his day!
-
Problem is Lavia's fitness and until Santos returns, we won't know how he plays next to Enzo in midfield. There's also some serious interest in Santos from other clubs, so it'll be interesting to see what happens with him.
-
Credit to Lampard for going back to coaching, could have easily stayed on as a pundit.
-
Barkley just lacked high football IQ, he had everything else, just never really took that next step to become a 10+ goal a season player.
-
the commentary writes itself "Liverpool on the counter, Salah in space, gooooooal" 😆
-
His release clause is 45 million, significant interest from Real, United and Italian sides.
-
The way Betis were moving the ball around and creating chances against Fiorentina, I'd be concerned about the final.
-
So what happens when we finish collecting all these ex-city players only to find out that Maresca has been sacked 😆
-
Wharton will be snapped up before he can reach that sort of price tag. I doubt Palace would be able to hang onto him that long, sort of like Olise going to Bayern and Eze will be linked to plenty of clubs in the summer.
-
What style of football does he actually play? We're definitely not dominating midfield, we just recycle posession for no reason and without Palmer in his purple patch of goalscoring form, we've gone from a 2-3 goal a game team to clinging onto 1-0 as a way to win. As for deep tactical understanding, he's NOWHERE near Tuchel or Conte or even Mourinho.
-
He'd probably fall out with a player like prime De Bruyne as he doesn't have the winning mentality or experience of Pep. Pep went through Barcelona, Bayern Munich before City.
-
Other than Gabriel and Havertz, seems to be pretty much their first XI. Its not like they're missing Saka or Odegaard
-
It's a shame when we have multiple broken goods... W.Fofana, James, Lavia, Broja...
