All you've been hearing is how well we played by everyone in the media, so I fell Wigan will try to stiffle us and stop us playing. I believe Pompey tried the same thing and it was a disadvantage to them. Before we played basically route one with Drogba up top, but this season we've added a new dimension to our play and teams wont know how to handle us. I'm convinced we'll carry this excellent form into this game and take another 3 points.

Theres a long way to go yet. Something we must take advantage of is Manure having so many injury problems atm. Carrick is the latest one to be put on the injury list and if we get a head of steam up and put a good distance between ourselves and them we'll be in a very good position to bring the title back. Even with Drogba and Essien out of the team we still have quality all over the pitch and aon the bench. Thats something our "rivals" dont have.

After the pre-season matches I half expected a good display from ourselves, I dont think the result flattered ourselves at all. We controlled the game from the kick off and didnt allow Pompey to settle. Everytime we lost the ball we battled to win it back, stroked it around delightfully and made loads of chances. If we continue to play like that this season we'll be hard to beat. Having Manu, Arsenal and Liverpool all at SB before x-mas is something I'm looking forward to. If we put them to bed like we done with Pompey we'll be in a very strong position going into the 2nd half of the season. I know its only 1 game into the season, I'm not getting carried away, but you cant help feeling that this year is going to be very special. Deco...........OMFG..........How good is he ?

Manure have basically stood still. We've fixed all our problems from last year and have improved vastly. RB...Sorted. Creativity....Sorted. Manager....Sorted. For us to be in such a state last year and pushing "the best Manure team Fergie has had ever" all the way, this surely has to give the lads the confidence we can go one step further in one or both of those competitions. I know you should never write them off, but I havent been as confident going into a season for a while now. Lets bring home the bacon

I've been out all day and just got in....I started to read around the thread and started to get excited. By the end of it all I felt like I did when I found out my dad was Santa. The clubs went waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay OTT on this. Its good he's staying, but I still think this whole Lampard saga has dragged on for so long I got bored with it in the end. Why make such a big song and dance over it.

I dunno about that. I've never came across another player who's behaved like Drogba. As I said....its his attitude. I've always said he talks too much and should do his talking on the pitch. If he wants to leave then let things happen and then he can slag the club off and whatever the hell he wants, but while he's here he should just STFU and do what he's paid for. He's not bloody Oprah

He forgets he was a slightly better than average player before we bought him and gave him the platform to become what he is. A bit of courtesy from himself wouldnt go amiss. His general attitude stinks. Does he think that by saying he's going to see out his contract that its doing us some sort of favour ? I'd prefer if he came out and said, "I'm sorry for my behaviour in the CL, and I will perform to the best of my ability to ensure the title comes back to SB. Its my mission to make sure this happens ...blah blah blah". I think that way he'd get a little bit more respect.

Just saw on Teletext that Milan are considering a loan move for him with a view to a permanent deal next summer. Theres something on it on "newsnow" but its on the Milan pages and in Italian Surely we'll not let him go after only getting him into the squad.
