I was just about to say he sprang to my attention when we played them a few years back. But from then he seemed to have disappeared off the football map. I had heard nothing of him until the other night. At 23 he has potential to improve, but then again, so have many other players on our wish list.

Sooner or later Lampard will leave Chelsea and we'll have to move on. But atm, selling him isnt an option imo. If he was playing shite for us then I'd understand, but he's still performing and worth hanging on to. If and when the time comes that his performances drop then I wouldnt hesitate to get rid, but he has a good bit in the tank yet and probably one of the fittest players in the Premiership.

We already have the bite and goalscoring ability in midfield, we are lacking the creative edge to the attack, If it were Deco then so be it, but I'd prefer to buy a younger player with the ability to improve. Deco imo, has passed his peak. Also Lampard would probably still be in the side. Its only a matter of time till Lamps signs.......then again I said that well over a year ago We should get rid of Malouda and SWP anyway wether Ronaldinho arrives or not. Both have failed to live upto expectations. I know Malouda has only spent one season in the EPL, but he hasnt shown me anything that he'll improve. Compare him to Ballack who was absolute pish when he started playing for us, toward the end of the season before last he was immense and has carried that form into last season where he was a vital cog in the midfield. SWP has tried and failed to deliver. Cut our losses and let him go. I dunno about Robinho. I havent seen much of him to really comment on how he'd do in the EPL, some have commented on him being too lightweight. One player I'd love to see us moving for is that Russina fella Arshavin. With the Russian connection who knows. I understand he's a written clause in his contract that would allow him to leave for 10million. In todays market thats an absolute bargain for that standard of player.

I prefer standing myself, most times I go to games I get a seat. But you cant beat the atmosphere when you're in a crowd belting out songs till you cant talk. THe last game I was at I kept getting up and shouting my head off, some guy behind me told me to sit down........basically told him to feck off, I paid a shit load of money to get over to the game and I wasnt gonna sit on my arse like a good boy and clap my hands.

He has looked good and he did remind me of Ash last night also, especially some of his crosses that went straight over everyone and almost went out for a throw in Joking aside, hopefully this will allow us to keep Essien in midfield were he's more dangerous. I'm fed up seeing him being put in at RB when we already have players there to do the job. What made it more strange was Ferreira getting an improved deal and still being out of the side and Essien being prefered.

Over the last few weeks and the next I'm sure, we have been and will be linked with almost anyone, but I saw some random link to a player on a not so reliable site, by the name of Goal.com Now even though their sources are as reliable as a Liverpool title challenge, they got me thinking. The player in question was Ivan Rakitic. A 20 year old Croation who plays for Schalke. When we played them earlier in the CL this season he was one player who stood out for them and tbh, the sort of player we should be getting into the team instead of the Decos of this world, players almost on their last payday and wont have any cash coming our direction if we sell them on. So my question is to you lot, who would you like to see come into the squad who we havent been linked with as yet ?
