Dont get me wrong, I think Ash is a cracking player, but with the importance of having wing backs who bomb up and down the pitch nowadays, I feel its an area of his game which needs a serious amount of work. Thats why I leaned towards Bridge when he was here. He may not have been as good as Ash defending, but the majority of the time he would put in some fantastic crosses. Most teams defend against us so the impetus is on us to attack.
When we do have to defend Ash is right up there with the best in the world. I dont want to turn this into an Ash bashing thread. I just thought I'd share my views.
