Yes, iconic historic figures are easier, just because everybody knew them and they were important for their period (one less or more than others). Jesus, as you pointed out, was likely a minor figure when alive. Again, none of this proves to be 100% guaranteed (that was the statement we were debating), but they are valid and recognised between historians. Lets move on though, there are valid arguments for both of views. Lets agree to disagree! I insulted you, I was wrong. I was fucking irritated at the time.... You werent obviously talking about the "Holy Jesus". The question was if you would travel back in time to talk to him. It did not say anything about him beeing a divinity. You simply said he was invented and it started all the conversation.

I get your point, but there are testaments of the same period naming Jesus. You are correct, If you would take extremely serious you can not make such statement. People get caught up with the religious stuff, though. It is the same process that defines all the personalities from long ago (Kings, Pharaohs, Popes, etc). You would not be able to prove most of these people with this line of thought. Even though, we all study them in school and no one constest, it is just because his personality involves so many things. Putting all that aside, you just look for the facts (that is what experts do) and realise he did exist.

That is a whole other discussion. But for them (experts) to start working on the possibility of him having a wife, they must be pretty sure he existed. No worries though, KV said it was a fact that there is no absolute proof.

There is mate, this has been prooven. Just go to a University, talk to a History Professor and he will tell the name of the right articles and the issue of Science you must read.

Again, you just took the steriotype (?) and made your own conclusion. The beard and stuff is a regular Jewish look from many years ago. It is not like he was different (physical wise) than any other common person. If you lived 2k years ago you could have easily passed by him and not noticing. It was that typical.... You are reading too much on the religious part. Take into consideration the fact that you are writing a book to tell the story about the world and for you Angelina Jolie has turned water into wine. A long time in the future your book turned out to be the most known book on Earth and scientists and archaeologists discovered that Angelina indeed existed and people at that time knew who she was, but cant verify if she made those extraodinary miracles.... Horrible example, but you get it. I personally dont belive in the Bible and I dont care about your personal bliefs, but he did exist.

Oh man, again people with no knowledge.... Jesus existed. That itself does not tell anything about the Bible or his miracles. There is 100% certainty in the Academic Community that Jesus Christ was a real human beeing that lives 2k years ago. Whether he was Son of God, an Extraordinary Human Beeing or just a regular popular guy is for each one to belive in what they think is true.

Thanks Mate, the thing is....Next year those phone wont have arrived in Brazil. You gotta understand my situation. For instance, IPhone 5 arrived last month in USA for U$199, in Sao Paulo, it will arrive in December for R$1990 (U$900) - it is unllocked though. I am asking just to get an opinion really, I have enough time to decide, since I am planning to buy in Jan/Feb 2013.

@manpe, you seem to understand about phones... I am thinking of buying a state of the art smartphone next year (In Brazil those things are expensive, so it is a long time planning just to buy a simple phone). Should I buy an IPhone 5 or a Galaxy S3? I Know that by the time I buy it, it will not be the best one, but where I live things get a little late anyway. Gadgets I have: New Vaio and Ipad2, got both for College. I have a dumbphone right now...

I think you are dumb. There are scientific proof Jesus, Muhammad, Moses, etc, existed. You just need to do a little research about it. I am in no way talking about their divinity. You need to study just a little bit about the subject when you enter a discussion.

No mate, that argument does not count. That is what I think. If I posted Juve (2) and Shakhtar (3) you could easily said I was discounting Shak. All 3 have plenty conditions to advance to the next round, but only 2 can go. Based on recent performances I think it will be CFC and Shakhtar have better chances. I will be not suprised if it finishes Juve (1) and CFC (2), for example.
