Oscar's the new Mikel. Some think he's crucial. Others think he's bang average. Usually, that's not a good sign. Truly great players are universally recognized as being great.

Few years ago, we had absolutely brutal attack, everyone feared our strikers, with Drogba, Anelka, Lamps etc. Just remember that trashing of wigan 8:0 4 years ago... After years of dark, Costa can make our attack unstopable again.

Anyone remember Ballack going absolutely crazy running after the Referee when a handball wasnt given against Barca?
Diego is the first Chelsea player since then who i imagine will do the same. Passionate, ballsy and commanding.
We missed that sort of personality the last few years.
Fabregas, Costa, Luis and Remy. We are single handedly carrying the PL mantle and honour among Europe for some years now, and long may that last.

If it was Oscar having these games they'd be saying "he's young, give him time." Forgetting Salah is younger. Salah will be fine, once the season starts he'll take off. 10 goals in all comps is possible.

The thing i love about this signing is that he's so versatile, he can be our 'Juan Mata' as a number 10 so to speak but also that deep lying midfielder we always wanted, he can play those two positions so well and it gives us plenty of options.

only place to be used "to be" a good poster, but since Mourinho returned he waste his time with disjointed posts defending every controversial (clumsy) decision Mourinho makes.
Lets put the facts right:
*Second game of the season, against Aston Villa, Stamford Bridge. Torres was injured, but Ba was the one who started. I think everyone here were surprised to see Ba starting and not Lukaku.
*Third game of the season, away game against United, Schurle starts as CF, Torres was used in the second half, and Lukaku was sitting on the bench the whole match, the same Lukaku that scored a hat-trick against the same United months earlier.
After that, he decided to leave, and for me thats comprehensible, because it was clear for everyone that Lukaku wasn't Mourinho's first or even second choice (choosing Ba to start Villa game was an insult), and with Mourinho saying the team would buy another CF, his chances here were getting really small.
Right now its easy for Mourinho to say it was Lukaku who decided to leave, but every ambitious player in the world in his situation would do the same.

Napoli, Spurs have proved that one world class player is better than 5 average ones. They sold Cavani and bale and bought several prospects yet unproven and they both had average, some would say bad seasons.
Thats the thing, I would prefer us signing world class player (or high quality one) every year instead of going after 5 decent ones every summer (at least in most cases).
One Hazard is better than 5 Salahs or Schurrles...we should sign top striker and top midifelder, not Firmino or Halkanoglu or Mandzo or whoever we been linked with...for bench, we can use youth players or those on loan...for starters, we need quality though.
Youth players would benefit too. Why we signed Van ginkel of we have Baker, RLC and others who look promising enough...Baker could be easily 3rd choice CM next season with regular games in carling cup and maybe FA...and sure with suspensions, injuries etc...he would get some time in PL too. If wont work, just loan him in january. One most important thing: Mou must have trust in him and see him as future...or elsewhere its pointless.
I dont want us to sign anymore young prospects or squad-depth signings as we already have several such players on loan and in academy. If we are about to sign anyone it should be quality players as we need to add some quality and experience to the side.

Newsflash:
A 20 year old boy managed to score 31(!) goals in his 2 first EPL seasons!
Goals against all top teams: Man United (3!!!), Liverpool (2), Arsenal (2), Man City (1), ... except for Chelsea (oh yeah, he's not allowed to play against us)!!
Yet news has spread that some fans are doubting if they want him back at the club ...
=> I really cannot find any words to describe this... really can't!!
ps: STOP thinking he has attitude problems & he doesn't want to play as a 2nd striker next season. Romelu is a model pro who works his ass off every single day + he will be more than happy to play together with a TOP striker next season (together or sub him).

I hope Shurrle starts over Willian. Nothing against Willian, but currently the form of Shurrle is on the rise and would love to see him carry on with that momentum.

This is must read !
goodbye letter from Juan Mata
Juan Mata - Hi everyone, As you can imagine
this is a very important day in my life, and with
these lines I would like to express the
memories and emotions that come to me as I
write. This letter is written from my heart, and
first of all I would like to say that I will never
forget all the affection given to me by the
Chelsea fans From the very first day until the
last. With your support and affection I have
grown up as a player and I have had an
amazing time both on and off the pitch. I will
always feel the gratitude towards you. Always.
No words are enough to give back all the things
I have received. There has been plenty of good
moments: the FA Cup, my first trophy as a
Blue; the immense happiness of winning titles
for the first time in the club's history, such as
that magical Champions League night in Munich
and the Europa League...
On the other hand, I have experienced some
complicated situations from a personal point of
view, mainly during the last six months. Every
message I got through the social media, every
nice word you have said to me on the street,
and of course, your support in the stadium,
has made me feel incredibly proud of the
Chelsea fans; you deserve a team like the one
you've got, with so many fantastic players. I
won't forget the faith you put in me when I was
given the player of the year award the last two
seasons. I feel really proud and I will never
forget those nights. Thank you so much for the
way you have treated me, you have been
unbelievable.
I hope you understand that after going through
a complicated and, for me, new situation in the
last few months, I believe this is the best
choice in order to carry on with my football
career and to keep enjoying this sport. Before
last summer, my intention was to stay here for
a long time; as long as the club wanted me to,
and to keep winning trophies for Chelsea FC.
This is how happy I was in the club and in the
city.
However, as you all know, things changed after
the preseason. From feeling like an important
player, I started to experience some difficult
situations and I felt unable to help the team to
the extent that I wanted and was used to.
Obviously, I fully respect the circumstances.
Football is a team sport and it's not easy to
play regularly in such a good squad. In sports
you may win or lose, but the most important
thing is to give everything. I hope you know
and feel that I have always done so. In every
game, in every training session, without
exception.
I have always tried my best for the club. I
would like to emphasise the affection,
admiration and respect that I've had for my
former team mates since the first day. I want
to thank the captains for their help and
understanding at all times. They made me feel
comfortable when I arrived and they have
supported me throughout the difficult times
this season. I thank all my former team mates
for these two and a half years and I wish them
the best, personally and professionally, for the
future. Of course I have been closer to some of
them, but the most important thing is that my
years in Chelsea have left me with great
friends. Friends forever, football rivalries aside.
I also want to highlight the day-to-day job of
every member of the Chelsea staff: medical
team, kit men, staff at Cobham and Stamford
Bridge, media and marketing department,
Chelsea TV team... All of them are very
important in making this club a great one.
Thank you for your treatment and your efforts
to make the life of the players easier.
Furthermore, thanks to every manager I have
had the pleasure to work with during my time
here. They have all been a big help for my
progression as a player. I have always
respected their decisions, whatever they were;
they made me more mature and a stronger
person. You learn from everything, and certain
situations make you think about other team
mates who are coping with similar situations
more regularly.
Thank you Andre for giving me the opportunity
to join Chelsea FC. Without your support, none
of this would have happened. To Robbie and
Rafa, for their unlimited trust in me. And to
Jose, for making me a stronger player, because
in difficult moments, I have learnt to remain
positive and to keep working hard.
Lastly, I want to thank the Club, and in
particular its owner, Roman Abramovich, for
trusting me and making an important
investment when signing me. Also for their
understanding regarding my situation over the
last months. I'm very glad to have been part of
the squad that made his and our dream come
true: winning the Champions League on that
unforgettable night in Munich. Additionally, my
years in Chelsea have been profitable for the
club, which I'm very pleased about. I want to
make clear that the stage that now comes to an
end has been extremely important for me,
personally and professionally. Although many of
you, like myself, never thought this moment
would come, this is football and a new chapter
is about to begin.
I would have liked to say good bye to all of you
in the stadium, or in a press conference, but it
has not been possible. I'm sure, i will be able
to do it in the future, because is what you
deserve. Evidently, today is a day of mixed
feelings, remembering the past and looking
forward to the future and what it has to bring.
I look forward to being happy and to enjoy
what I like the most: play football. I will never
forget my time in Chelsea and the affection I
take with me, I will keep forever. I wish you
the best. A big hug to all of you.
THANK YOU so much, Juan Mata

All senimants aside Mata is too good to be a benchwarmer. We have to show Mata the respect he deserves and if Mourinho is indeed planning to displace him for the long term, some sense emanates in selling. Nonetheless, nobody can convice me that selling Mata to Man United in January is good for the club, even at "37 million pounds".
Mata may not bring United a title, but like Chelsea two years ago, he has everything to reinvigorate and strenghten their team enormousley. Selling in January aswell, when we need strength to compete with City is also questionable for a club that are quitely challenging for the title, despite rebuffs from Mourinho to the contrary. An injury/suspension to any of our three currently preffered players can also be instantly mitigated with Mata providing equal qualities (and maybe more as a number 10 offensivley than the three currently).
That said it's world cup year and I feel for Mata deeply. Mourinho is the main man and it is he who ultimatley makes the decisions. I honestly do think that our wingers tracking back, Matic and Ramires in midfield and our defensive partnership combine to make a potent enough defensive unit for Mata to be given some freedom to attack with a reduced burden on him defensivley. IMO that is a viable option for a lot of games, although Mata can easily demand a greater role in most other clubs, I do still feel Mourinho will give Mata chances in the second half of the season in steaking a claim for his spot. Moreover, the handful of games Mata's had to prove himself on the pitch IMHO doesn't suffice adequate scrutiny in determining categorically that we can let our best player for the last two seasons, the top assist maker in the EPL last year and quite simply a worldclass player like Mata to leave our club.
Maybe it is sentimant speaking now but as much sense as some some arguments make it just doesn't feel right to let the humble and classy 25 year old Mata leave with his peak approaching (especially to United) and undoutebly provide a club with the world class qualities he's cultivated over the years at Chelsea.

We shouldn't be conceding 3 goals against Stoke.
Sorry, I can't believe people are actually trying to shift the blame unto any of our forward players here (bar Eto'o, but we shouldn't have been in that situation to begin with).
The loss was 100% the defences fault IMO.
