What happened?

Thank you so much. Fortunately no one I know was involved. I've lived for a few years in a city close to where it happened, but none of my friends were at the night club. Today/yesterday (monday), me and my friends spent almost all night long debating what happened there. What's worse is that those ppl were universitary students just as we are, so we can really relate and wow, I'd be devastated had it happened here in my city, I'd probably have lost many friends and acquaintances.

But it's true. People may conceal it, but there's some serious prejudice against gay people. I think most catholic countries have. At least it's not very likely for gays to be attacked on the streets, but even that has happened before.

Brazil is a very heterogeneous country. We've got lots of black, white/caucasian, latin and asian looking people.
