  1. Some juicy ties on offer. We could get Olympiakos, Roma, Lyon, Fenerbache or.....Celtic. Whilst the Turks or Greeks seem the easier opponents none will be easy, but apart from Lyon all should be fairly easily overcome.
  2. Its a cliche, and it must be a getting older thing, but it feels much better to give than recieve. Only thing I'd really like is an angry Chelsea mob on a cold December evening with burning torches, parading Grants head on a pole down the Kings Road.
  3. Crouch still trying to excuse his timmy tantrum by saying 'Its only foreign players that behave as Mikel did, you wouldnt get Terry or Lampard behaving like that'. So now hes trying the racist card, and by saying English Chelsea players wouldn't, trying to get more people on his side. What a snide middle class wanker.
  4. Yup would have made at least £500 with a tenner down. Crouch; "Mikel came in with his studs up and that was in the back of my mind," said Crouch. "Then I thought there was another foul in there and obviously I've lost my head. '' Bless. I didnt see Mikel stick his studs in the back of Crouchs mind.
  5. Its important since Duff and Robben have left that we still have players that run at defenders. Press this morning excusing Liverpools exit with the excuse they fielded a 'second string side', and saying ''uncharacteristic of Crouch, though the England centre forward can only be provoked so far''. Looked pretty first team to me, and as for Crouch, was pissing myself, it was like a David Attenborough documentary on a pre menstrual stick insects. Will he get hauled before the FA for mouthing off at our fans as he went off ? Will he fuck.
  6. I've noticed he's definitely better when on the left. Aside from you mentioning Obi and Kalou, Cole caused them all manner of problems as well. Essien was good, though was trying to take over from Johnny Wilkinson at times.
  7. ....was sure he was going to put that one away, and would have been goal of the season.
  8. ..and pisses in the sink, even when it's full of washing up, touches up your sister, shits the bed, and is a closet Spurs fan.
  9. Agreed. Also Shevas reading of the game is second to none. Dont know why someone was slagging off Mikel, and saying Kalou was our worst player ever earlier on in the thread. Mikel is solid. With a lack of creatives Kalou and J Cole are invaluable at present.
  10. No, he's there by default. Big difference. Only a foolish Chelsea supporter would back him 'because hes there'. The other difference is that he cant manage a thing on his own, he needed to take over a club and squad that was at it's pinnacle, and then have people either side of him who know what they're doing. How come we dont need a ''Director of Football'' any more ?? All he does is give meaningless press comments, wear poor imitation 'Mourinho' clothing, and stare intensely pretending he knows what hes doing. Kick the fucker out ASAP.
  11. Chelsea's Ashley Cole's unlikely to face a FA charge over allegations he made a gesture towards Arsenal supporters at the weekend. The former Gunner was heavily jeered by home fans and was pictured after the final whistle apparently making a two-fingered salute towards Arsenal supporters. FA officials are expected to make a final announcement today. Independent
  12. Well it seems the bad luck continues, with Maloudas injury proving worse than initially diagnosed, and Shevchenko picking up an ankle injury last night.
  13. From Ghana Daily; Chelsea striker Didier Drogba admits he has no idea when he will return after having knee surgery earlier this month. Drogba was expected back early in January, after an op on his left knee 11 days ago. But the Ivory Coast star is worried he may now miss the MTN Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana from January 20 to February 10. Chelsea had hoped Drogba would play at least one game before leaving for international duty on January 7. But his confession could now spark a club v country row, with the Blues unwilling to risk him if he is not fit. Drogba said: "No player would go under the knife at this crucial time if it was not serious. "I can't say really when I'll be back. "There's a possibility of missing the African Nations Cup." Ivory Coast boss Uli Stieleke insisted: "Our training camp starts on January 7 and Didier will be there."
  14. You're quite right BB, it's a reactive step to non qualification. If we'd qualified , Barwick et al would be saying how they're vindicated in choosing McClaren.
  15. Agreed. The psychological motivation was always there at half time, -as you say, it was apparent in the players attitude. Lacking against the Arse last Sunday by the looks.
  16. Yeah, point taken, bit harsh on the disabled.
  17. From the Special One to the Special Needs One.
  18. Carvalho could be back -Ballack will prob play. StevieG has a tummy ache.
  19. I cant spell though -3 'e's in succeeding ? I think you're right there, Abramovich thought , 'right, everythings in place, I can tell the egotistical Mourinho to piss off', and everything will continue. Just because Abramovich positioned himself round Yeltsin for the 'Everything Must Go' Sale, to make billions -doesn't make him intelligent. The string of bad injuries won't be remedied as easy with cuntchops in charge, and even though we've Clarke and Ten cates, they're hardly talismanic. (hows that for a made up word).
  20. Bit of both - but the players /managers/club can afford the best lawyers. If you can pay for the law you can get decisions your way. There have been dozens of players, Ferguson as well, been done for speeding -and they all used the same lawyer who got them all off on 'technicalities'.
  21. Man United defender Jonny Evans is being questioned about the rape. How many footballers have been accused of rape ? Dozens. How many convicted ? None.
  22. Succeeding in sport is just like succeeeding in anything else - so the same skills apply - setting goals, using visualisations and affirmations, having a positive attitude, getting into flow, synergy, using your strengths etc ..Mourinho possessed the acute spatial sense of a chess grandmaster, he could adapt formations, tactics as games progressed and opponents changed. -along with a unique ability to creat an incredible sense of self belief in the players. This is the big oversight that Abramovich failed to recognise you cant get off the shelf from just appointing a fat bloke who ingratiates himself on the rich and powerful.
  23. Quite a long read Brooking is right in respect Burton is as important an innovation as Capello, but what happened to the ''root and branch'' upheaval they promised after it became clear that they'd appointed the Cunt with the Brolly ? I thought -and it should- apply to FA staff. Carlos Alberto is also right when he states English players often lack a 'feel' for the game. Italian and Spanish teams often try to control the heart rate of the opponents through pace change , and are intuitive to opponents weaknesses. Interesting that the Futsal players in Spain are paid as much as the eleven a side blokes !
