If you notice, the good managers always manage to motivate players psychologically -after all the players are generally all good enough and are there on merit or they wouldnt have been picked up by the scouting network. Good managers are also there on reputation, and are tactically aware, though this is often not such a necessity. Carlo has a good reputation, is respected by the players, probably not the best psychological motivator, but is tactically spot on most of the time.
