  1. Lol never mind could have been worse I spose and he'd gone to spuds. Also getting through the medicals not done and dusted. Sorry Joe, hope your career continues on a downward slide....
  2. Lol Well he has the right intellect for scouse land, and although not the accent, his voice is pitched just right for that scouse whine. How the dipper fans must be rubbing their hands at the thought of robbing all his medals when hes playing an away game....
  3. Disagree. Its not on. Trying to bring in cost effectiveness when the club are happy to throw away tens of millions in settlements to coaches because they dont like the way they play, or hundreds of thousands in wages each week. Massive salaries to 'executives' who in reality are ones mans puppets. Football is fucked, sold to Murdoch -and what happens when this current generation of middle aged season ticket holders are gone ? -I dont see any young working class legions of replacements, they even took away the student season ticket discount. True its not extortionate, but its the principle, and yet again they forget that without the fans they'd be nothing....
  4. It might only be a fiver to you BB what with your fancy restaurant n all -but thats bread n dripping for a month round our way....
  5. Some good loan material there. i see spells at Doncater and Wolves looming for most......
  6. Well its the first time I've ever known them to charge -dont know if this is any way linked to We Hate Scouses thread -but seems a bit penny pinching to me. Even Kenyon had the sense to let us in for free.... http://transparentsport.com/cfcuk/story.php?id=101836
  7. Think he'd have to go to scouseland to buy -a formal approach. However the Daily Mail reckon theres been a £40m opening bid.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1292380/40million-Fernando-Torres-bid-Chelsea-throw-gauntlet-Liverpool-want-more.html
  8. Positives and negatives with this. Positives are that will probably be a squad player, can come on inject pace, as a supersub. hes also not going to have a timmy tantrum if hes not a regular starter...and 2-3 years out of him, he might just be worth it However, £5.5 m seems a lot for a 30 yearold and will be worth 10p at the end of his contract, and Fenerbache were the only other team interested. Would have personally hung on to Stoch, or gone for Ashley Young -and it doesnt send a very good message to potential youngsters, Benayoun couldnt get into a less than average Bindippers side last season -so what does that say ? i think it also show the club are going all out for thw CL next season....
  9. Good shout for Ivanovich, he has been imperious, and can seem to play anywhere along the back four. I suppose just because Alex wasnt picked for Brazil doesnt mean anything, they have dozens of top Brazilians to choose from. Teryy gives 100% nearly every game -you cant buy that loyalty, but there will come a time when his pace is a real issue..
  10. Lampards goal, Tevez offside -theres strong case for it. But where would it stop ? Every decision being contested in a game would add about half an hour to a match and disrupt the flow -actually Lineker had agood idea on MOTD that teams would only get 3 calls for a replay in a match, like in tennis. So you for or against ? The use of television has been a source of controversy in the sport, but I reckon it offers a fool-proof method for determining whether a team is good at football or whether it is simply a collection of absurdly over-compensated, second-rate commercial brands with ghastly, vulgar wives, locked in a sado-masochistic relationship with a cretinous media that merely reflects a society that has taken its natural intelligence, its sense of perspective and its values and violently drowned them all in a bucket of piss.
  11. Cant see it happening -though it wouldnt be the end of the world -pretty pony WC (ok that could be because of the unrest in the camp), Carvalho was suddenly fit for Portugal and is reputedly looking to get out, and Alex wasnt picked for Brazil squad. Shant be long before we need a top, pacy central defender....
  12. Judging by the deep converstion him and Fatfrank had at the end of England Germany + the rumours , I reckon he'll be strutting his stuff at SW 6 next season............
  13. Agree. His stats are very good as well. Chase the ref time
  14. Would prefer Joe Cole any day. Just seems part of the Israeli quota that we have to have -Grant, Sahar, Ben Haim, Benayoun -anyway hes a gamble -had some pony games for the murderers but also played a few blinders.
  15. Tend to agree -think we will sign at leats one big name possibly two before 2010-11, OR are there stringent spend reductions happening ? ..... this scouse reject smells like Mourinhos Ben Haim, Sidwell ie cutback signing.
  16. Lol . one of the players used to dread coming on against us when we played the dippers, but my opinion has changed. He can come on and change a game, but can also run around like a madman and not get anywhere. Reckon this is just short change of the economic cutbacks......
  17. Timings pretty poor imo -if he plays well for Slovakia -he'll more than likely play every game -his value will soar.......
  18. Decent squad player, but obviously the coaches have taken a long, hard look at the player and decided that they cant see enough in him. The board want success at League and Chapions league level which will demand the creme de la creme of players. That said, would have liked to seen him given more time -if he'd been given for instance the time Joe Cole had this season, he could have nailed a first team position....
  19. When I'm in the West Stand with Tarquin and Yakashima we boooo simply everyone dontchaknow. Alan Crespo, the one that wears a hat, and that big black chap -we boo them all.
  20. Yeah can see Matic coming in more -and I suspect there will be a couple of signings in August. There will be up until then, links with dozens that will come to nothing. Ballack - World Class on his day, but starting to slow. Shame about Joe Cole but to miss the best part of a season , demand £120 000 a week, and be no better than average is either him or his agent taking the piss. One of the worst performances I ever seen by a Chelsea player against Cardiff.....
  21. ''Hes here, he's there, he's every fucking where -Frank Lebouef, Frank Lebouef''
  22. True - looks as though they are inching their way to their desired 'Super League'. If there are the constant usual suspects peaking, it's a persuasive argument for their dream....
  23. On R5 they were discussing this and they billed the story as a way to ''stop clubs like Man City and Chelsea buying all the players they want''. I rang in fucking incandescent. This is bollox as far as I am concerned, and just the usual 'red' journalists twisting the story. In fact it will penalise the red clubs more -part of it is designed to stop clubs 'living beyond their means' ie you cannot borrow to buy a club. That would have seriously fucked up the Glazers and Gillette and Hicks. They wouldnt have been able to buy United or Liverpool as a cash machine. As far as Real Madrid is concerned they are heavily subsidised by the Spanish government. via property deals and cash injections. There is politics at bay here. Their main rivals Barca, are Catalan, an area that wants to be separate from Spain, have socialist leanings and are owned by the fans.so The government always want Real to be more successful, and have links with the ruling bodies.
