Not against this -we have no one roughing up the opposition, he'd be good for long balls knocked into the path of Hazard and Morata when he could be brought on later in matches that are at stalemate
Could so easily have -if, if, if, -if me aunty had bollocks she'd be my uncle
Great with his head, but not the most natural finisher. Good link up play but wastes far too many chances especially at crucial moments.
Sky were showing our league winning highlights today -and so many hinged on Costa scoring at vital times.
Morata is a decent replacement, but the top strikers have a ruthless killing instinct, which is lacking when it matters.
The chance against Roma also comes to mind which means we now play Barcelona.
The game swung from the sublime to the ridiculous -cant help thinking Batshuai would have tucked at least two of those chances away, that Torres Morata missed.
Played for L'Arse and us;
Cech
Diarra Gallas Pates Ashley
Rocastle Hollins Hudson George Graham Petit Fabregas Graham (cough) Rix
Baldwin Anelka Clive Allen
Feel free to add if anyone thinks pf any more....
Thank Christ for that. So many owners are content to just tick over. Abramovich is a football fan and that means he wants the team to be successful. That's not to say if he was down to his last half a billion he wouldn't sacrifice success. In fact even now hes not averse to spending more on paintings than players, and boats more than the club.
His predecessor though, Bates like most owners are solely interested in profit.
Probably half the Prem teams from Swansea upwards with their absentee owners are quite happy to make a profit via TV, sponsorship deals etc but not interested in being top winning clubs, Its similar to F1 where you have 3 or 4 potential winners and 22 or 23 making up the numbers, but still making a profit.
Played for both teams...
Huth, Begovic, Michael Duberry, Zouma, Micky Thomas, Glen Johnson, Eidur, Mark Stein, Moses, Sidwell, and Sparky played for us as well....
Fucking stupid amount exacerbated by TV revenue entering the game, and Southampton sniffing their desperation. They need a keeper too and will have to pay Desperation Tax on that deal too.
Makes me realise we dodged a bullet with Stones and Christiansen is actually better
