So will he go back to playing this other way which didnt work? what needs to change- new strikers? more experience for our attacking midfielders? a goalscorer in central midfield? Playing this the way we have been in a 'strategical' way doesn't seem like a long term solution, it's fine in one off big games; I can think of very few good performances in the last few months- the Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool games stand out- but against lower teams we've really struggled to find a way to beat them and in 90% of those games been poor. With Hazard, Oscar and Willian there is no excuse for not producing good attacking football; we've played better for longer periods with Kalou and Malouda as our wingers

Thought they would've wanted more than that, he's a fantastic player, much better than Shaw is currently and would arguably be a better fit. For £15m he's be a good signing for a few years. I kind of want Shaw to come here though, he's young, english, a Chelsea fan and actually good. But his main attributes are in how he attacks from fullback, he probably wouldnt thrive under the more defensive roles our fullbacks have. Im not sure we were necessarily beaten by a better side/tactics; we went 1-0 up - we just needed to get to half time. We made simple errors in defence to give away the first, which were out of sorts for us. After that goal you could see we looked almost beaten. Then Eto'o gives away a penalty that is stupidly soft, why he thinks he should be making a challenge there with his previous Im not sure. After that it was game over and of course they looked good - as Real did, for a counter-attacking team its easy to look good when the other teams chasing (see us vs Arsenal). Games like this are usually decided by fine margins, had we defended a ball you'd expect us to, had Eto'o been put on a bit later we could be through. Hope Atletico go on to win it, they're a really good side, a better unit then we are currently. Next year with Matic in the middle, a new striker, and maybe Courtois in goal I can seeing us going further; I hope Mourinho's consistent failure in semi finals in recent years ends

No one seems to be able to stop this Liverpool side scoring early on, if they could be held to half time they might start to get nervous, but 2-0 up in 10 minutes makes it such a relaxed game for them

Willian was decent, especially in his defensive work, but he isn't really a creator and never looked a goal threat - same is true of Oscar

Mike Deans a cunt, but we didn't really look like scoring, been our problem all year. Mourinho places too much emphasis on defence, fine in big games, but you have to be able to score goals, cant rely on getting one from set pieces or penalties, especially with the shit officiating you can never rule out conceding and need to be able to score 2 or 3. . To be honest we need major changes in attack next season, Hazard aside no ones up to the job, Willian's excellent in defence- but him and the others aren't a goal threat. We cant break teams down and havent been able to for years, Mata made zero difference, if anything he slowed us down further Hate the though of Gerrard lifting that trophy, hopefully we beat them and City nick it
