MAF reacted to Weckerz in 🇧🇪 Eden Hazard
The players respect him, true. He brings spirit to the team, sure. What about his actual job: putting a cohesive team out there capable of dominating a game, not just the first 20mins?
He's tactically inept mate. Not surprising since his only stint as a manager before this was at second division club Sint-Truiden, where he failed miserably. Winning just 2 games in 25 or something. Then a 7 year hiatus and suddenly he's the mastercoach who reaches the quarterfinals at the world cup. Let me tell you something mate, anyone could have done the same.
You can't expect the players themselves to sort the team out and play like superstars either, it doesn't work that way unfortunately. They need a coach who does more than letting his players run laps and play games of mini-football.
I've said it often and I'll say it again, this generations progress on international level is being stalled because of this man. I pray he gets another club offer soon so we get rid of him and people will see how bad he really is.

Problem is that Wilmots really need an offensive minded assistant manager. He is the perfect one to motivate the players, but he is poor to make them play with each others. There is no alchemy at all (like Stingray said).
It's like the Chelsea's team of 2 years ago, great players but no link up play.

Hazard is a beast. However, considering the competition, his only chance at ballon d'or is going to be if Chelsea wins a treble. Otherwise, he's never going to outscore the current top players. Similar to how someone mentioned about Ribery. Dude had to win a treble and still came 3rd.
As long as Hazard, doesn't start obsessing over it, he'll still have a great career even if he doesn't win the ballon d'or.
And as a Chelsea fan, sure I'd love if he wins it, but that's secondary to Chelsea's team success.

Amazing.
Brilliant run by Costa to distract Mertesacker and open up space. Torres would have probably got in his way

He's neither top 10 in football or basketball so I can confirm that you and mrblueguy are wrong on both account

MAF reacted to DYC. in 🇧🇪 Eden Hazard
Bale is so massively overrated by many. So often I've seen him put in poor performances and it's just overlooked. Like his performances against Atletico recently. He didn't have any space to exploit, didn't do a thing. Or he plays poorly yet scores, so all the focus ends up on the goals. Reminds of Rooney until a year or two ago. He used to receive similar protection, now he's criticized so often. It's funny because there was a time the majority considered Bale as very overrated and I would be among those saying he's a real talent.
Bale is a fantastic player, mainly because of specific qualities, like the ones you mentioned. But I'd much rather have Hazard.

try to keep you eye only in the player with the ball at all times. (Great exercise to realize how amazing he is, although you may get dizzy )
There's a speed before it reaches Eden and then it feels likes the speed of the FF was increased, when it was only Eden allying his dribbles with vertical, non-stop movement. He added pace without even running, that's unbelievable.
I just posted about him in the Oscar thread, I did yesterday twice, one in the live match and other in the post match threads. He's relived of pressure, of responsibilities and he seems to even have a little more freedom now than he used to. He's not the only answer to our attack anymore. He doesn't have the weight of the world on his shoulders anymore. First of all, we have a striker and one that links up wonderfully with him - I agree with whoever said his linkup with Costa is better than with Cesc, simply because Costa is more often near him than Cesc is. So we have someone that will score goals, but that won't stand like a tree waiting for the ball. Costa is taking what Eto'o did for Eden last season to a new level (in terms of play, because the psychological aspect Samu had with him was amazing, hope DD takes over now), that alone relieves him some. But then there's Cesc creating, Schurrle running and getting in good positions, so if Eden doesn't score or assist, now we have 2-3 other players to do that - as it should be.
He seems more carefree and his flicks come galore because of this. He did a bit of everything yesterday and although his classical rabona didn't work out, I'm sure we'll see it much more this season than we did in the last two. Back heels, fancy, elaborated dribbles, everything that is so mouthwatering about his style will flourish and being 'disciplined' last season by Mourinho makes it all much better because he's so objective right now. Last season, at the very start he would drive me crazy dribbling in our half, sometimes even in the first third, where he should try to pass and move to receive ahead. He took a long time to pass the ball in that area of the field, which is always dangerous and then when he was high in the pitch he wasn't too objective and instead of cutting inside, sometimes he went even wider, or didn't move much to any side, just dribbled. José disciplined him, and now as a disciplined player he can catalyze his talent and do what he's done yesterday. Cesc and Iva were out of this world, but if they weren't, Eden could have been the man of the match, his performance was high level. I still want him to shoot more often, but yesterday he wasn't even in the position to shoot tbh. Others were and he just stretched the defense, made space for others, and advanced with the ball for us. Talk about a team player. Wonderful by Eden.

MAF reacted to Chelsea? in 🇧🇪 Romelu Lukaku
your logic doesn't make any sense. If you have 2 players on your squad and one is better than the other, you play the better player. Lukaku believed he was better than Torres but he still didn't get to play over him. IMO that's considered not getting a fair chance. Morinho obviously saw more in Torres than in Lukaku, but you cant expect Lukaku to sit around and let Mourinho determine his career path.
I'm not saying he didn't get a fair chance cause i honestly dont know, just saying Lukaku probably didn't think he got a fair chance

That's all very well and nice but you simply can't waste this group of players. Simply can't gamble on a mediocre manager when you're such a small nation.

MAF reacted to Weckerz in 🇧🇪 Eden Hazard
No, but he should definately not have gotten a new contract before the WC had even started. This is a generation we won't ever have again and I feel it's being utterly wasted by this man.
Credit to him for creating a brilliant atmosphere, a tactical coach a la Van Gaal should be brought in now.

Most rival football fans call Hazard overrated and then run to the bathroom and cry over how their club couldn't get him.
