anyone else a bit scared of their potential team next season? been on their forums recently and with pellegrini incoming, this would be a very very dangerous team. the signing of Cavani IMO will be crucial to who wins the title.

I want Oscar as our number 10 but there's just so little width with him and mata both on the pitch.

Would be interesting, I personally loved Arjen when he was here. We'd have a good variation for our squad, a chance to be a lot more direct with Moses and Robben in the team. He is frustrating but still a top class player.

I was always a fan of Sturridge and seeing him leave frustrated me to no end. When he played for us this season, his link up play was good, he was dangerous with his pace and showed enthusiasm. Much more than Torres has for us. He has always been respectful towards us (and City), and the stick he got/still gets is unfair on him. Other than Rooney, I'd place him as Englands best striker.

Chelsea to get pellegrini next season and bring isco along with him. Would be a great acquisition, but the centre of midfield and a striker need to be our priority.

Marin had a very promising pre season and I thought he was impressive when he came on in the Swansea game. Hopefully gets more of a chance now moses is in Africa.

With all of this talk about how Oscar shouldn't have played out wide, why didn't Rafa (if he wanted to play the three maestros) use Oscar as number 10, with Hazard on the right and Mata on the left? He is Brazil's number 10 after all. Played some really slick football but had some horrible finishing. Torres was silent the entire game and Ba had far more impact with the 10 minutes. Two headers on goal, a near penalty and offside goal. Ivanovic had two horrific blunders (especially the second), but he's been a great player for us and it's just unfortunate it happened. Luiz was very impressive in the first half, but was back to his long shot way late in the second half. Rafa needed to make earlier changes.

We do play some really nice football with Mata, Oscar & Hazard playing. Shame for our wasteful finishing and Torres being quiet as ever. Bring on Ba, whip some crosses in to create some more room in the currently very congested edge of the box, and we should be okay.

Seems like a great January buy. I'd still prefer to keep Sturridge, but it seems the board has made their mind up. At only 7.5 million, the risk of his knee is negligible. Knows how to score goals, and boy would that help us out. Very excited to see this one through.

Turnball Dave - Ivanovic - Cahill - Bertand Luiz - Ramires Hazard - Oscar - Moses Torres (Ba if signed) Mata could do with a rest, but I'm still very scared of how important he is for us. We lack any fluidity without him on the pitch.

Sadly this is my first post, but Ivanovic is really off to a poor start this season. The third goal his positioning was horrible and he just looks awkward all the time. He was always a definite starter for me, but so far this season (including pre season) the arrival of Azpilicueta could be very important. We seemed to lack any of the creative flow we have at least been getting in small segments in the games so far this season. Just need to get things back on track and continue to show improvement in the fluidity of our game. Very well played by Athletico Madrid.
