I know but come on. Neto has been in PL basically forever. Madueke also has played for dogshit Eindhoven scoring vs Ac Milan in CL . Neto definitely has his qualities and I don’t mind him playing LW for us at all. but madueke is the more efficient goslscorer, so I just hope rumours of such an „upgrade“ are BS.
-
BTW Madueke and Neto have roughly the same minimal number of goals in English football but Neto has played about a 100 games more. clownlake masterclass.
-
Another left footer? We can basically play a full XI of only goalkeepers and left footed attackers soon. Madness. also not sure if Neto for Madueke is too much of an upgrade given the injury record
-
Good point but for me Jackson’s number of goals is not the problem. His number of misses on big ocassions and in pivotal moments of narrow games are. But such a mental blockage can probably be worked on. He has all the tools to become a top striker but I doubt it will happen over night so he will continue to cause frustration. on a different note I am sure Guiu will be loaned out if we sign Omrodian. Simply bc of the fee the latter will be given a shot first.

Interesting. Man marking requires more 1vs1 skill from the individual defender but often a bit less tactical organisation between defenders. But apparently he hasn’t brought pep’s defensive playbook. I was always impressed how he made ok defenders like ake, akanji step up significantly. But I doubt even he could do anything with badi, disasi, wreckley fofana.
-
You can give them all tactical training you want but you can not teach talent. last season we had Thiago whose experience papered over the cracks to some extent still we conceded over 60 goals. All our goalkeepers and most of our CBs are simply not good enough. Sure, they are not going concede 4 goals every other game like in preseason, so there will be some improvement but in the end our defence is what will cost us a CL spot
-
I appreciate you admitting to an illegitimate opinion but how about you challenge the points you disagree with instead of hiding behind some feeble ad hominem remarks.

The fallacy clownlake (and some fans) adhere to is to think that only bc a players looks above average at a young age means he will improve. This is BS. I keep repeating myself but you need proper, education, mentoring, elite training, stability, consistency to make a proper player out of a talented youngster . This club offers none of these. It just hoards young players waiting for them to develop on their own. It won’t work. most of our u23 signings will regress, stagnate and be worthless in a couple of years while we are stuck with them in their eternal contracts. You can easily see as much from the development of our clownlake signings so far since joining us U23 fofana - regressed (perma wrecked) mudryk - regressed Enzo - stagnated/regressed Caicedo - regressed lavia - regressed (one injury away from perma wreck) madueke - stagnated badiashile - stagnated gusto - improved palmer - improved jacjson- improved ugo - stagnated Some of the others I have not really seen so no idea but can’t imagine deivid etc did much On loan angelo, moreira, santos, casadei, broja all stagnated or regressed. Value already tanked, we will be stuck with them or they will leave on a minimal fee the ones who did improve we sold in hall , Omari and Maatsen and they were - surprise- not clownlake signings So that’s a hit ratio well under 30%. Spending over 1bn you would think just flipping coins would yield better results.

While I surely don’t see anything special in him, the omorodian deal in Isolation would possibly make sense if we were not flooded with raw, unproven attackers already. right now this club is a machine. A machine that burns cash and talent like no other and produces frustrating results, tons of wasted chances and ultimate choker moments as a direct consequence of this transfer policy. Clownlake have not learned and probably never will. Players aren’t stocks where you compile a diversified portfolio and get a positive return on average. They don’t automatically blow up in value over time just bc they are young, talented and on long contracts. People, esp team athletes, are interdependent. They need leadership, experience and a healthy environment to grow. All this circus with the constantly changing staff, squad etc affects them. By now I am sadly almost 100% sure this clownlake experiment will go down in football history as the most expensive failure ever unless they drastically change their strategy.

Sanchez and all those awful defenders don’t become worldclass overnight when preseason ends. The individual performances are worrying, the quality just is not there, does not matter if it’s preseason or mid April. They are just not good enough Only the season can tell whether marescaball will work for us (spoiler alert: it won’t) but starting the season with the current group of gks and cbs puts us at a sizeable disadvantage
-
So now apparently after left footed wingers, gks in the 20m range are clownlake‘s favourite toy of the month what‘s next, which other position are we already stacked ? Another young rightback now? No that would make too much sense. Let’s dump another 100m on an average 21 yo DM
-
I understand how selling Conor makes sense for all parties but 34m is an absolute joke. Vintage piece of clownlake business. They are driving this club head first into the abyss trying to look smart.
-
I agree, Sanchez is not the solution but I am pretty sure filip is significantly worse. Everything about this guy screams mediocrity
-
20m+ for one of the statistically worse gk in la Liga when mamar one of the very best is available for 40 is just so retarded. I know clownlake probably have some weird data of their own that makes them think Jorgensen is underrated. They think just everybody else is wrong. It’s like a cult. I don’t know much about Jorgensen but aside from the eye test or stats, show me anyone with one bit of football knowledge who seriously thinks he is better than mamar. In general or as a fit for us. I get clownlake want someone young, someone good with his feet, someone with reasonable wage demands. All this also holds for mamar. They already were wrong on Sanchez when will they accept that sometimes the common sense solution is the best.
-
the clownlake way buy high - sell low buy random average 20yos - sell proven homegrown quality you really could not make this up. It’s like watching the Grinch play Football Manager
-
This is so frustrating. We have again spent close to 100m euros this summer on some random dudes who at best are ok squad players and at worst are absolute crap which is more likely . Could have just signed one player who actually makes us better. The money ‘saved’ on wages by buying 19 yo means nothing when they likely all suck and no one wants to buy/loan them eventually so they just stick around collecting their paychecks Regularly, you need one good goalie, the backup you usually get for free. We made Sanchez one of the most expensive gks in history, then bought and played Petro over him, now jorgensen/hermanson . It just does not stop. Clownlake appear determined to spend as much as money on the worst possible players . It is as if they are laundering money - badly
-
Sell him. He is useless on the pitch and apparently also knows fk all about football in general. Not a fan of either but Messi > Ronaldo simply bc of the WC. but more importantly Lampard > slippy G. It’s not even a contest. the only reason there is a debate is bc of lpools annoying popularity . I know Sterling and slippy g played together but still get a grip Lamps has more goals (absolute or per game or minutes, from outside or inside the box, it does not matter ) more assists, more club trophies, more individual honors plus gerrard singlehandedly cost pool the title in 2014 and England progress in the WC the same year plus countless other fuck ups that cost his teams, far more than the number of usual errors that just happen. Not bc he was psychotic but bc slippy g simply was technically out of his depth in many situations. Lampard was just so much cleaner with the ball at his feet and overall the superior footballer.
-
Bronze is a terrible signing. Long over the hill. Old, slow, no positional discipline. Single-handedly lost England the WC final when she went on an utterly braindead infield run into the crowd in the middle of the park, vacated her position, predictably lost the ball, pathetically failed to recover as Spain walked down her wide open side to score easily.
-
Absolutely not surprised unfortunately. There is a lot of racism still in parts of the Argentine society, expat communities (but also towards Argentinians in some European countries esp Spain ) . This racism is maybe not as blatant anymore but it has been somewhat normalized. Already after the World Cup win, Argentinian players have presented themselves quite uncultured and careless about controversial political topics that have absolutely nothing to do with football, the WC or any of the other teams they played against. Remember them singing some brain dead stuff about attacking the Falkland island again ? Apparently they have now taken it a step further. The baffling part is that they do this in total ignorance of the cameras around them and with no relevant context. (Not that there is any possible justification but still so random) This can only mean they see the racism as something totally fine and also that they think it’s fine to just go around stirring shit up and randomly insulting noninvolved people. So, not just uneducated, racist and insensitive but also straight up immature, uncouth, dumb and careless. Obv they will all come back crawling on their knees begging for forgiveness and probably avoid making racist remarks on camera in the future. Still, what does this say about their characters as players and humans? Not only did their education leave out the societal achievements of the last 200 years but also it did not teach them basic manners and common sense.

Yup that rumour is defo a non starter. We are never gonna get watkins at this stage

It gets better. She is a criminal who confessed to defraud old people with the good old sick relatives scam. She avoided a jail sentence by paying back 500k. Her brother purportedly has ties to organised crime and as many rappers she glorifies crime. On a different note, those 23/24 per game stats are not really representative for Adeyemi cos he missed a lot of games and only played 900mins in BuLi. Same as the season before. He struggles badly with muscular injuries. Goal shy, lots of baggage, reputational risk, attitutde problems, injury prone - sounds like the exact type of player Clownlake dump 60m on.
-
Madueke is not great but he is clearly on an upward trajectory. If we move him on now it would effectively be burning money. So definitely a thing Clownlake would do with their buy high sell low strategy. Having missed out on Olise they would probably proceed to sign another less talented left footed winger for 3x market value to replace madueke seriously, the time to sell madueke is next summer when paez and estevao come in. One more ok PL season under his belt (last season he had a respectable 8 goals playing roughly half the minutes possible, surely will improve on that) should increase his value. one of the kids should be good enough by then to replace him it’s funny we are talking about Adeyemi cos he is basically the same player as Madueke only less physical/more lightweight and right footed
-
Scary thing is that albeit looking better than Sanchez , Petro was still the 2nd worst goalie in the league last season. He is more conventional and his errors were less spectacular but he let in a ton of save able shots . Sanchez is terrible with his feet but he has made some great saves and underperformed his xG conceded by less None are good enough ofc. No idea how good Slonina is but don’t see us buying mamar until we sell one or two of the useless bunch 😕
-
That’s also what I heard. He was pretty meh all season which is weird cos we tend to buy these youngsters on form usually. Real head scratcher this one. But I doubt he was bought as midfielder, rather as CB/LB cover
-
He played a couple of games in Bundesliga when he was on loan in Augsburg but I don’t remember anything of note from him except that he already looked 40 back then. He also hardly had a breakthrough season and we are paying 5x over market value so no surprise there good thing is he is versatile can play all defensive positions plus quite tall. Probably a 2nd backup for Cucurella and Colwill in the Ugo mould.
