  1. Admittedly, Costa's sorry display does not say much about his quality as a striker but I would feel much safer with another option for CF position after the first week of the WC
  2. Only makes sense when Mikel leaves and we need another DM to cover Matic. I am not quite sure whether we will revert to 4-3-3 or play Fabregas or Oscar at the pivot. Anyway, withour Mikel, Matic would be our only real DM and we need at least 2. ----Matic---- Oscar--Cesc and ----Song Ramy--Tiago looks tasty to me.
  3. He was one of spain's better players, but Spain almost played asymetrical, with everything going over the left side. Azpi was isolated on the right.
  4. He'd only cost about 15m as his contract will expire next year. But honestly, we already got an army of wingers. would only make sense if one of our main wingers Hazard, Schürrle, Willian, Salah would leave or injure himself. And even in that case, maybe Atsu or Piazon could make up for that (esp if only Salah was injured). btw I just realized that Yarmolenko almost looks like myself. lol.
  5. The opposite is the case. The mistake was committed because a lack of technology. A supervising ref in front of a TV with a neutral Camera perspective could easily decide it wasn't a penalty.
  6. Every fuckin day, I check the news nothing, one fuckin day when I have uni and do not check the news, FAbregas signs. Anyway. Welcome to Stamford Bridge, Fabregas, you have a lot to remedy. And IN YOUR FACE ARSE
  7. Sure? I am pretty sure, Rugby League only became the working class game when Rugby was divided into Union (for the upper middle class and above) and League. Before, Rugby was played in the - also posh- grammar schools whilst football, which everyone could play with just a ball and no deeper knowledge of the rules was played predominantly by factory workers and their children. Even though you are right, the origins of football are very posh, but quickly it became the working class's game.
  8. It does not really matter what Blatter says and if his claims are justified in that special case. He is a corrupted scumbag who has lost it completely. The whole FIFA is corrupted to the core and the 2018 (probably) and the 2022 WCs have been bought. Slowly but surely that corruption in football will carry off the sport if the people do not cut off the cancer.
  9. If lUkaku is really to leave Chelsea, it is because of pride. And in terms of the best young striker I have seen in the last 5 years, personal resentiments have to be cast aside. Rom deserves to play for us on merit of his abilites.
  10. the thing i appreciate about fabregas is that he will be great against parked buses. We had no problems winning the big games without him, but as he has been Arsenal's leading flat track bully, he should have no problems playing those decisive passes.
  11. Nah Bayern still got the most. Wolfsburg will become the 2nd force in German football eventually. But 30m for Lukaku would be the 3rd highest transfer sum ever paid by a German club. It is interesting how the Bundesliga has withstood all that hype and seldom made to big transfers. Still has some decent teams. Anyway 30m is not enough for Rom, given we bought him for 20 or so. IMO if he really wants to stay, there is a possibility he will. Even though it would be typical Chelsea to sell such a player.
  12. Finally a striker. He is also awesome on Fifa btw. I hope he is not worn out after that season, the wroldcup and the injury. Honestly, I'd rather he had the medical after the world cup.
  13. I hope he signs a new contract so he can play with his beloved no 10 even longer.
  14. Better his testimonial being fuckin epic. Deserves a season full of testimonials tbf.
  15. All amazing goals and memories. Such a legend. It is hard to pick even 10 best goals as their have been so many beautiful and vital ones. To add to those already listed: His jumped, outside of the boot lob-volley against Stoke in 2010. Even though it was not very important, it was remarkable , never seen something like this before. Tremendous and very underrated skill to weigh the power of the cross so that it lobs the keeper. I also liked the one vs Lazio, one of his first goals for us in europe. That much bend on the ball His winning goal vs Mancity in 2008 was brilliant, too. What a run, dribbling past two defenders to unleash an incredibly hard and precise low drive from just inside the box. His mega-long range freekicks vs ipswich and tottenham will also ever be remembered. One goal, no one will remember is the one he scored against frankfurt in a pre-season loss. i remember it because i was there, in the frist row. He came in and minutes after took on a high loose ball with his chest and diverted it towards goal, gliding past the completely surprised defenders, somehow managed to poke it under the outrushing keeper and smacking it into the net.
  16. Fabregas often labelled Lamps as his idol and thought "one day I'll get even better than him". compare Fabregas at 27, the eternal talent vs Lampard at 27 best midfielder in the world.
  17. Just read it is official. Right now I feel nothing, it will sink in eventually, but I still can't believe this is real. It just does not feel right - too early. The last 10 years i have seen almost every game of him and it was absolutely woth it. I will write him a piece when I got some more distance.
  18. would be awkward if both would participate in the club world cup. Thank god that is never gonna happen. how come Arsenal have overtaken us? They have won 1 trophy in 9 years. In that time we won 14.
  19. And it's not that he was a mere squad player last season. He had 40 appearances, scored 8 goals, 7 assists. Not too bad stats for a a 35 year old playing in DM. At least better than paulinho. I am sure he will have a role to play, if he stays.
  20. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jun/01/frank-lampard-sheikh-mansour-new-york-city So basically Lamps is only negotiating joining them in 2015. I knew there was something wrong with the reports of him leaving immediately.
  21. Wonder how many players we will sign this window. Has to be quite a number. Mikel and Lampard will possibly leave, so we need a backup (maybe already found in Tiago) and top class CM to play alongside Matic. Also Bertrand will probably follow Ashley Cole out, Patrick van aanholt is not seen as an option, so we'd better sign 2 LBs. After Luiz left we might need another CB, even though IMO we should just move Ivanovic in the middle. Also one or two strikers. No matter if we keep Cech or replace him with courtois, we will need a new back up goalie. One or two players that are on loan now might even stay next season, so all in all we could have up to 8-11 new players in the squad next season. I wonder whether that is healthy for our title bids having a team that still has to integrate. That is why IMO it is not a good idea letting Cole and Lamps go. Both are leaders in and off the pitch, great examples for the youth and whilst Cole still has the quality to start for us many games, I don't Tiago offering too much more than Lampard (even though I really like the way he plays)
  22. I think Lukaku's performances are not the problem. I think it has to be a personal fall out between him and Mourinho. That is why, I don't see Lukaku playing again in a Chelsea shirt. That is also why Mou wants our two worst strikers to stay. To provide the cover for our new CF signings.
  23. That is the problem with iva. Not that his technique is bad, apart from his crossing technique. He is big, strong has a decent shot can leap and head. But he is neither a really skilled tackler nor is his defensive movement particularly clever. He is an amazing athlete, but only an ok footballer. I understand he offered Mou tactical alternatives and a threat from set pieces, but honestly, if we sign Costa, those issues are solved. In modern football fullbacks should be clever defenders and skilled on the ball like Azpi is. Of course Iva is a CB so we should not expect too great things from him offensively, but as soon as he costs us defensively we should really consider making him a CB again. I also don't understand why we let go cole. We will be fuckin short of cover in the fullbacks position.
  24. from mail so what is believed now? How can a nationwide paper have writers that bad. A logical and stylistic fail, a grade 5 pupil would not commit. It is also believed there is a flying Spaghetti monster in the orbit it is also believed it's BS. It is also believed the dailyfail is a dummwit's paper not good enough to wipe one's ass with.
  25. this can't be. He would not sign a contract before the world cup.
