  1. would be awkward if both would participate in the club world cup. Thank god that is never gonna happen. how come Arsenal have overtaken us? They have won 1 trophy in 9 years. In that time we won 14.
  2. And it's not that he was a mere squad player last season. He had 40 appearances, scored 8 goals, 7 assists. Not too bad stats for a a 35 year old playing in DM. At least better than paulinho. I am sure he will have a role to play, if he stays.
  3. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jun/01/frank-lampard-sheikh-mansour-new-york-city So basically Lamps is only negotiating joining them in 2015. I knew there was something wrong with the reports of him leaving immediately.
  4. Wonder how many players we will sign this window. Has to be quite a number. Mikel and Lampard will possibly leave, so we need a backup (maybe already found in Tiago) and top class CM to play alongside Matic. Also Bertrand will probably follow Ashley Cole out, Patrick van aanholt is not seen as an option, so we'd better sign 2 LBs. After Luiz left we might need another CB, even though IMO we should just move Ivanovic in the middle. Also one or two strikers. No matter if we keep Cech or replace him with courtois, we will need a new back up goalie. One or two players that are on loan now might even stay next season, so all in all we could have up to 8-11 new players in the squad next season. I wonder whether that is healthy for our title bids having a team that still has to integrate. That is why IMO it is not a good idea letting Cole and Lamps go. Both are leaders in and off the pitch, great examples for the youth and whilst Cole still has the quality to start for us many games, I don't Tiago offering too much more than Lampard (even though I really like the way he plays)
  5. I think Lukaku's performances are not the problem. I think it has to be a personal fall out between him and Mourinho. That is why, I don't see Lukaku playing again in a Chelsea shirt. That is also why Mou wants our two worst strikers to stay. To provide the cover for our new CF signings.
  6. That is the problem with iva. Not that his technique is bad, apart from his crossing technique. He is big, strong has a decent shot can leap and head. But he is neither a really skilled tackler nor is his defensive movement particularly clever. He is an amazing athlete, but only an ok footballer. I understand he offered Mou tactical alternatives and a threat from set pieces, but honestly, if we sign Costa, those issues are solved. In modern football fullbacks should be clever defenders and skilled on the ball like Azpi is. Of course Iva is a CB so we should not expect too great things from him offensively, but as soon as he costs us defensively we should really consider making him a CB again. I also don't understand why we let go cole. We will be fuckin short of cover in the fullbacks position.
  7. from mail so what is believed now? How can a nationwide paper have writers that bad. A logical and stylistic fail, a grade 5 pupil would not commit. It is also believed there is a flying Spaghetti monster in the orbit it is also believed it's BS. It is also believed the dailyfail is a dummwit's paper not good enough to wipe one's ass with.
  8. well he won the golden boot in Euro 2012 with 3 goals and 1 assist. those coming in the two matches he played, the one a 4-0 win over ireland and the other goal and the assist against an already beaten italy side. Funny thing is, he was tied with some other players, I think Balotelli and Gomez who also had 3 goals and one assist. He got the boot because out of these 3 he played the least, resulting in him having a better goals/mins ratio. In 2013 he won the golden boot of the confed cup thanks to scoring 3 or 4 against Tahiti, a game he also missed a penalty. Ahead of Fred, who only scored one goal or so less but scored in the all important games including the final, but not against Tahiti, cos they were not in the same group as Brazil. You can talk about deserved or not, but one thing is evident. Somehow the circumstances always go in Torres favour no matter how shite he plays. At liverpool he complained they would never win a title, at chelsea and spain he has won every major international trophy there is complains the team does not play to his strengths, whilst all the time being paid unbelievable amounts of money. How fuckin delusional can a man be? If i would have the chance to play for a team like Chelsea for any salary i can at least live from, I'd not even think of complaining. And don't start with "He is a better footballer". Honestly, there are hobby players who are better than Torres. It is not that I hate Torres or dislike loyalty, but Torres does not deserve it, so it just saddens me when an already rich player with full title cabinet gets all that faith and opportunities others would not only kill for but probably would reward it with goals, only for Torres to moan around about playing style.
  9. If Torres makes it again, it is official, Del bosque either has a soft spot for him or Torres has a mighty lobby. No sane coach would rather take Torres instead of Negredo, Llorento and Navas only for footballing reasons. All three offer something different and are better players. Honestly anyone got an idea, why Jose and del bosque two of the best and most succesfull coaches in the history of football pick a vastly inferior player at all (those "he is a master of blowjob" comments ain't too funny anymore^^)
  10. yup. let's hope some people feel so turned on by his incuriously chipped penalty they take him off us. Not gonna though. It's strange. Every year we hope Torres will finally be gone in summer, even though we all know no one will be stupid enough to pay his wages and Torres will not be stupid enough to leave on his own given the shitloads of money he earns here.
  11. The rest of his game was actually quite decent given that spain were abysmal.
  12. with that attitude no wonder he does not score. Him selling shirts is the only reason he still plays for the 1st team. At the end of his contract he will have more than amortized his price.
  13. Lol @those rumours. Atletico are never gonna mess with us. We got the leverage as we got the money. We could simply take their best players away paying their release clauses. The same applies to Thibaut. if he continues his "no emotional connection to chelsea" BS, he risks his carreer. We could let him rot in the reserves the 2 years left on his contract and make him vannish into oblivion. As for Costa, he will come here, if we want him to, for the price dictated by the buyout option. He's 25 and I know the body starts to decline from there on, but slowly at first. A player at 30 is, given he has not burned out his body already, not much slower than at 25. Esp strikers profit from experience when they get older. Miro klose, one of my favourite strikers played his best season with 29, also van persie was 30 when he won Utd the league, ribery hit his peak at 30. Costa is a late bloomer and not signing a player during his peak, only because he is 25 would be the wrong signal.
  14. Usually deals are agreed subject to a medical. If the medical is after the WC and he fails it, the contracts are null and void. So we are on the safe side, as long as we do not skip the medical like we did with Torres.
  15. It was a mistake not playing him instead of loaning him out, but we would be complete mugs, if we waste don't give him a proper chance now. He is much more complete whenever before. His first touch has become decent, his movement is intelligent, he works intelligent and his right foot is a weapon, too.
  16. Nothing to do with history. Real haven't won the Champiosn league 10 times. There seldom are logical and right conclusion you draw from history.
  17. This decima BS is so infalted by the fact that Real won the first 5 competitions whilst there was no real competition. IMO one should reset the counter to the time the CL was actually introduced in the 90ies. NO one gives a shit about what happened in the Stone Age.
  18. So what about Marchisio? He is in his best years, has some pace, is skilfull, is a better passser than Pogba and his workrate is amazing, as he has to cover the lazy pirlo. Alos vidal, i never understood how we did not even try to buy him in 2011 when he went to Juve. he already was a beast in Leverkusen and destined for the top. Even though no one could have predicted he would become one of the best box-to-box midfielders to walk the earth, he always was the more complete player than ramires.
  19. True. I'd also ratify the sale of Luiz for that crazy amount as he is not worldclas in any position. Maybe I am too romantic about this, but I believe their passion for the club and their strength of character ultimately contributed as much to the succes Cech-Terry-Lamps-Drogba axis brought to the club. Those traits can't be replaced by money but if we have to, we should use it to get new worldclass players and not sit on our money to be rich for the sake of it.
  20. Class players are more important than money. So we have to make sure that we sign some gems with class and personality and not waste it on average fair-weather players like paulinho. We got more than enough money to get whoever we want and still comply with FFP. I respect fans who say, their loyalty belongs to the club, but I also identify with players, characters who have carried the club and whose loyalty can't be replaced by money, I'd rather be in debts and excluded from the CL but with some legends you can look up to than being a filthy rich club without soul which wanks about its transfer revenues but can't get a decent team together with players which don't have character to earn the success.
  21. PSG home, incredible performance as single midfield player ManUtd 2011 just after he joined us and bullied Rooney all over the pitch ManCity 2011 watertight in defense and scorer of the winning goal Arsenal this season Basel and many more. The thing is, he could easily provide great performances but in so many matches he committed unnecessary but costly mistakes. And in football making few mistakes is the first priority for a defender. And once more, what a great guy he is, I will never forget him, he was great for the club's image and team spirit, I hope I meet him one day to take some funny selfies or a tour with a golf car
  22. I don't get why people are so excited about him, yes he is a very young and accomplished defender, whilst Jt, Cahill and Iva are not getting any younger, but come on. It is not htat there is a shortage of good CBs in the world market right now. When there is an opportunity to buy one, well be it. Though as U21 CBs we already got Zouma, Kalas and Christensen is rumoured to be not that shabby either. It is rather the age bracket I am more concerned about. When Terry retires next season we should have an experienced CB to replace him who is well in his twenties in the best case.
  23. So sad to see him leave this quickly. I hope he will be more appreciated in Paris. I always loved this guy, not a single scandal in his entrie but time and nothing but smiles and jokes.Surely he has been great for team chemistry, but for that money you just can't refuse. Things got real with him and Mata. Hope the direction he is taking us is sustainable. Keeping Ba and Torres, selling Luiz and Mata, buying Salah... But when PSG think, they can have hazard, lol.
