IMO every team needs a plan B. And playing two strikers is defo a viable plan b against stubborn and pressing sides.Skipping the midfield battle and playing some old school power football will not only help us against the bottom half but also against aspirants like swansea, southampton or everton. Anyway we would all feel more comfortable with at least another quality striker.

We have: ----------Courtois---------- Azpi--JT-----Cahill--Luis ----------Matic---------- ----Fab------Oscar----- Willian--Costa-Hazard ---------Cech------------- Iva--Zouma---Christensen-Ake (lets pray we will never have to play dat defense, maybe better buy another defender...) ----------MIkel-------------- (ugh) ----Rami----Van Ginkel Schürrli--Drogba--Torres/Salah imo in midfield and defense we are on par - maybe no in depth but surely in quality- with City. The problem and that is scaring me the most is that we have Costa as a striker but no one else with real quality. OK, drogba and Schürrle could help out but City won the league playing two strikers against the small teams, which IMO is the way to go against sides who can give you a hard day when having 11 men behind the ball. We don't really have the players or the variability to play a fluent 442.

yep let's burn our Lampard kits and eradicate his memory and don't call him a legend anymore. Like the Scousers and arse-fans do. I thought we here at Chelsea had more class than that. We could say good bye to Mata with dignity, why do some here try to stain Lampard's name? His move has nothing to do with his achievements here. He is our greatest ever player and what he does after his time at Chelsea has come to an end has nothing to do with that. The titles he has won us, the goals he scored all the great memories will stay. The resentiments some fans might have won't. So don't embarrass yourselves and bear it with some dignity. It is not a great situation to be in. I have been a Lampard supporter for more than a decade and I hate it that he does not play for us anymore. But he has given us everything he could and for me this was enough. What else shall a player do for a club than giving his all week in week out, representing its values and keeping its reputation high? His move to City does not undo any of this and also does not damage the club or its reputation. He has been an ambassador of the club and will be when he rejoins the club in some function any time in the future. Also I don't buy this "what if he scores and wins city the title over us". If our title challenge broken by a 36-year old player in one match, it was never good enough. It seems some here have an agenda against Lamps and only have waited for an opportunity to creep out of their holes.

Of course they do. All we did in the last 3 transfer windows was shipping out quality squad players (luiz, cole, lamps, lukaku, kdb, mata etc) and replacing them by probable first team players (luis, fabregas, costa, matic) resulting in players of lesser quality than of those we sold heading to the bench. Does not really make our squad much stronger, only our first team will improve. In the process we nedlessly reduced our squad size. When we get an injury crisis and the African players leave for the ACN, our chances of winning the league will not be greater than last season. Especially when once again we don't put any trust in our youth players to boost the numbers and help out once in a while.

the ref gave a pen on the exact same incident last time
-
fun fact: Bremen's entire 29 man squad cost them less (47m pounds) than Fernando Torres cost us
-
Torres still not getting any service
-
Torres is Torres and Costa could also be a bit more courageous in front of goal.
-
what a beauty of a header
-
Torres with a Torres quelle surprise.
-
WErder themselves have only 2 or 3 first team players here, we have our first team playing bar 3 or 4 players
-
Fabregas doing a Lampard far too often. playing a side pass and subsequently walk into the striker's position
-
matic not as sharp as usual today.
-
how come this is a penalty? it is neither in the box nor a hand ball
-
HOly shit what a save by thibaut
-
Letting Lamps, Cole, Bertrand and Lukaku go looks pretty fuckin stupid considering we will once again have a pretty thin squad this season. Unnecessarily.
-
Bremen are really crap. A good example how having too much stability in the management can fuck a club. They had the same manager in charge for ten years and after initial success declined rapidly. Also lost their best player in Aaron Hunt, who is not even an international
-
Ribery and Robben are declining further. Kroos their best midfielder left, Schweinsteiger will never be as good after his injury. But true they have a hell of a squad and a league that rolls over to them so they can save energy. They are defo favourites for the cl title just before real and barca.

maybe Aubameyang, who is a CF even though he has played more a RF role recently.but he would be a great acquisition if we could make way for him and his heart works

It was the club's choice to let him go. He is the biggest Legend Chelsea has, our greatest ever player. Why should someone who devoted more3 than a decade to this club and put everything he had on the pitch each fuckin time, scored the more goals for us than any other player somehow dimish his status by signing for a team some of us obviously don't like? So Melbourne is ok? For some also QPR would be ok. So should he hand a list to every Chelsea fan for them to put on which Club he could join and which not? Ony because he is a legend here does not give us the right to judge him and his moves after he left. When Pirlo was cast out by Milan and joined Juve, most people, also people here hailed him for his courage and determination to carry on. Now Lamps takes a similar, but not even that grave step cos he only joines on a short-term loan contract, people are going mad at him? Talking about double standards. He is our greatest ever player. Top scorer, Champions League winning captain. Nothing can eradicate that, not even playing one or two matches for Manchester City who only are current rival of ours, but not even a historic one we grew up hating, just another recently successful club. Be disappointed. It changes nothing.

In short, Lavezii would be too old, too expensive and too much a winger, to be our 2nd striker. The ones I'd realistically consider are Jay Rodriguez, because he is Egnlish. I don't rate him too highly though but these are really bad times to be in need of a homgrown striker. The others would be Lacazette, who is cheap and clinical and Loic Remy, who is not as clinical but nice aerial ability and pace. All three would complement Costa decently enough. Though I would rather not start a CL quarterfinal with any of those. Jose must have seen something special left in Drogba otherwise we would never go into the season with that strikeforce

Amazing player, so glad we FINALLY see him play for Chelsea and not lose him too early like KDB, Rom and many more. Though I could imagine he should put on some brawn and train explosive strength. In Germany keeper always get trained on these 2. When a goalie is physically imposing and not only tall but big and strong they don't just have advantages in the air. You have seen it with Neuer at the WC, players were too afraid to take him on, just because of the respect his appearance imposes. They would not go up to the header and risk a collision with him because they were just too small. Also his explosiveness made him great coming off his line and in the 1vs1. Courtois said himself, in the prem, the refs do not protect the goalies as much as they should.

Realistically there was never gonna be a chance he would leave before his contract runs out. Honestly, if you could stay at a club where you are most likely to win several trophies and earn shitloads of money or switch to a club where you earn significantly less and won't win that many trophies, what would you do? The one say he just wants to milk the club and has no ambition anymore, others say he wants to stay and give it yet another go to repay the faith we inested in him? Depends on the point of view. Though I am afraid on the scenario of Costa picking up an injury or a ban and us having to play Torres or Drogba in a big game.

Steven Gerrard was one of the worst england captains ever. How did he actually convince the whole country that he was a great leader? He ruined the season for club and country not for the first time, has an awful winning percentage as a captain, continuously slips or plays awkward backpasses to opposition strikers. Steven Gerrard could not even lead a group of lemmings to the next cliff....he probably would be jump himself to quick for anyone to follow
