  1. It’s crazy. Ex ante both looked like good additions. Both players with sublime technique, probably on a higher level than most of our squad esp Felix but did not make much of an impact bc of mentality/killer instinct.
  2. TT did not get the job done. Job done for Bayern means win the double, which he failed at the first hurdle. TT got the bare minimum and only bc he got a huge helping hand by Mainz and Bochum. Nags left Bayern one point off the top with plenty matches to play inlcuding one at home against BVB but TT took the hand off the title on the penultimate matchday. I think it's pretty clear which position is better. Surely Nags was probably the wrong fit for them but we are yet to see if TT has learned from past mistakes. Only bc Todd was stupid to sack him does not mean Bayern were smart to make their switch nor that TT has been a success there yet.
  3. A title is a title even if it is a tinpot one and not even Bayern themselves feel like they deserve it. Still, Bayern are ruthless enough to take drastic steps after winning the golden pineapple. Kahn, Salihamdzic sacked before the game at Köln, announced 5mins after kick off, players once again learned it from the press. Only Tuchel stays out of the triumvirate . this means even more power to TT and that is where he can show if he really has developed. Will he advocate for shit buys again and stay a short term manager or find the solutions that have avoided him here.
  4. The one good thing about this season. They always made it awkward for us at their place. Really has been my worst overall season in over 20 years of watching football. Just disgusting teams being champions all over the place.
  5. Perfect testimonial of why we are midtable. Madueke and Hall showed they have bags of potential tho. And also perfect showcase of why we should not buy Felix. We need leaders, goalscorers and not a single fair weather player more.
  6. Pulisic is on but the less I see of Ziyech the better. Let's hope we do indeed manage to get rid of them
  7. Is there anything concrete about RLC leaving tho? Talks with AC Milan have broken down and I can’t see anyone else lying his wages. Will we just pay him off to be rid like with Barkley?
  8. Ajax were scintillating that season and I would have preferred to see them but Liverpool would have absolutely thrashed them so maybe the way they went out was the one less damaging to their memory.
  9. Absolutely. I did not aim at Poch, I just like to mock Spuds. Spuds have not won shit bc they are a weirdly run club with a toxic atmosphere in the upper ranks thanks to Levy. To even make them compete for CL and PL was a miracle but I still think they should have put on more of a fight vs pool in that CL final.
  10. Luton being promoted is good news. Another away game that is barely any travel. Have some history with them but not really a historic rivalry. Will need to upgrade their tiny stadium tho. 10k is 4th tier level
  11. It could have had he scored that early pen dortmund were way too naive all game and koln should have just parked the bus after equalising instead of pressing high all the time
  12. At least the ladies are doing their job today. All we need is a point here but can’t see anything other than a win to cap off another perfect domestic season. wsl trophy not leaving for another year.
  13. Always keep in mind that this is the same Dortmund side that we comfortably outplayed and beat with our poorest team in 30 years. Just shows how Bundesliga is getting weaker every year
  14. Neither. Always 2nd striker with either Silva or like today Timo as no 9
  15. Dortmund the ultimate chokers Getting thrashed by Mainz. Completely off it today. Can’t handle the tiniest bit of pressure only hope for them is Köln but who am I kidding 11th title in a row for Bayern… just disgusting
  16. SB is not shit, it’s an iconic stadium and a huge part of our history we need a bigger one for sure but no need to disavow SB also how one could read the original post is that he meant Thuram would be first choice here and not a squad option. But tbf the dude is not good enough to lead the line here But the source is full of shit anyway and has not even made the effort to look up Thurams contract details. He is a freebie. He is not “keen to wait ”. he will choose a new club in the next few weeks.
  17. Out of the two lavia would be my choice as he is younger, cheaper and not significantly inferior. Both do not produce enough in the final third tho.
  18. Took em long enough Carved through us like a knife
  19. All true. It is a bit of a riddle. While I do think we would have somehow crept to a 4th place finish under TT, his problems at Bayern resemble the ones we have had with him here too closely. Most striking is that he is completely at a loss why we or Bayern often either failed to turn up or completely lost focus after taking the lead. I just watched a lengthy interview in which he was very salty but everything he said sounded so familiar. He said the training week had been great, the atmosphere was focused, fitness levels were top but he had no idea why the urgency was lacking for most of the game. Maybe there is just some disconnect between him and his teams that only becomes obvious whenever they face resistance. Maybe it is not him but it is the players who have some mental blockade after the world cup. Would not be the first time. Top teams all over the world except City are struggling to consistently string wins together.... But back to us. Even though I do not think keeping him would have prevented the problems we had, I believe he should have at least deserved a shot with a rejuvenated squad. TT's problem was always burning out the players, which was evident last season. The fresh ones might have provided some new impetus. Under GP everyone sucked pretty much equitably. But GP was never gonna work anyway, even if the owners had not dumped all those players on him and undermined his authority at every opportunity. He never had the format this much was clear from the get go. The Pochettino appointment is at least a step forward.
  20. I guess this makes the affair a whole lot easier. Surely Pep will alllow them to party tonight. Granted, we will still lose, but I don't think it will be that humiliating. Lampard has beaten Pep before, but this time he will park the bus and lock in a respectable 2-0 defeat.
  21. Would be classic Dortmund to stumble at the very first hurdle again. Dortmund choked away a title in Augsburg before, totally can see them doing so again. But with the Schalke draw today, Augsburg are on the beach, so I doubt they will show up. The tricky one will be Mainz, who always raise their game vs the big boys and might still play for an EL spot next week. That being said, this is the first time I am confident we will have a new bundesliga champion for the first time in over a decade. You can basically feel how everyone here is yearning for it. Absolutely ridiculous how Bayern sacked Nagelsmann only to hire agent Tuchel to shit away all three titles. Damn that would be sweet. Bayern without titles is one of the best possible consolations for the torrid season we had.
  22. I would prefer someone who compliments Enzo. So ideally his partner should be a tall, a goal threat, be able to win the ball up high and carry it vertically at pace. Kephren Thuram is still raw but he is the best match under this consideration. Would give it a shot. He is also versatile and would not cost a bomb. French league is the most similar one to PL out of the continental leagues as well.
  23. Their motivation should be that they get to do what they love and get paid millions in the process with the added bonus of being cheered for just doing their job. 99,9% of ppl don't get any of that so suck up and play.
  24. I have not especially cared too much for Poch during his time at Spuds and PSG. He appeared decent enough building that reasonable Spuds generation. At PSG he did not win anything that had not been expected. What I read about his mentality, methods and also his overall CV he looks a lot like a poor man's Tuchel. We will obviously not win any titles anytime soon but maybe he can do what he did at Spuds and at least built a new spine and get us back to CL. Over there, he took players with a limited skillset like Moura, Walker-Peters, sissoko, winks and made them into pretty usable players and he took talented players like Walker, Kane, Son to wc level or at least have them perform at their highes tpossible level for the time he was there like Dele alli, vertonghen, alderweireld. Overall, Spuds are still drawing on those evolutionary but ultimately fruitless Poch years. Let's hope he can achieve something similar and built the foundation for someone to bring back a winning mentality to this club.
