Don't let htem take the lead, they are a counter attacking machine. If we can keep the 0 as long as possible we might be able to sneak a win here. Their central defecne IMO is their weakness with Coady and Boly being rash often enough. Our bench is strong this time so we sould be able to turn up the heat late on if we can keep our composure and energy with good game management for once.

Its an interesting cal going with a back 5. For Mount and Alonso I think it is perfect but no idea how Jorginho and Azpi will cope with their positions. I am curious how it will pan out. At least its not as predictable as what Sarri did with us. Lamps had plenty of time to work on this over the intl break with many palyers remaining on the trainings ground so maybe he will get it right this time.

We are a side currently inferior to the likes of leicester; utd and on par with Sheffield. With our defence up against Jota, Jimenez, in-form Traore etc...now we lost our best defender for the match - the anxiety is retraceable. I do not expect us to lose, a draw would probably be a decent result, a win would be a highly surprising.

We really should try to dissolve his contract. I cant imagine drink driving, drink fighting etc are not sackable offences or at least require a fine. And if not our contracts should be extended accordingly

I agree. Look at what we did to Liverpool. We unlocked their defence time and time again but Matip, vvd and Robbie were just so good they always recovered. It is like having a great striker to save your shit attack, a great CB can make you get away with schoolboy defensive tactics.

Depending on how flamed it is he will need to reduce training volume for a few weeks, so might take a month max till he is match fit again. The good thing is he does not need to stop working out completely, he needs no surgery and it will heal completely with no long term consequences expected.

Welll so far he only scored vs sides that were Championship last season. If he scores braces vs Wolves and Pool as well the debate will be a different one.

Every striker struggles against packed defences. The 2nd goal he creates space himself. And he used to be quite wasteful even on counter attacks

He is. The one on one used to be his weakness now its his stength. When a player with that amount of pace learns how to finish at that speed he is some force. He is like the Salah or Mane of central strikers right now in this form, maybe even a bit quicker. That second goal was brilliant, clinical like a surgeon.

I agree. There is only performance at youth level and loans to refer to but if that is anything to go by the ranking is comfortably James>>Mount>Abraham But it is not only that we have been given plenty of reason to think James is good enough but simply bc of Azpis form he deserves a chance.

That was just a bad reading of the game..this was not one of those days were everything works for you and just demolish the opposition. No it was a nervy low quality which our in form striker should have won for us. But as said in the match thread our game management was piss poor. Mourinho would have brought on Mikel and game over. We need to be able to do this. To have the option of just seeing an mediocre game out. There is no reason to keep the game open after a 2-0 lead.we have witnessed almost all kinds of fucking games up in within almost 5 games in the season. Obviously experienced teams or managers should have the edge in tight situations but this is just poor. With our defence even a 3-0 does not put the game to bed. Still Lamps talks about attacking better. We should work out our Defence first. I begin to think he has no real concept of defending apart from pressing. We really should seek some help tactically here. Oppositions always target exploiting Azpi with one twos and shit and it always works. The midfield does not offer enough protection for Zouma bc we got 0 DMs rn. The team is young, promising fun to watch but there needs to be some kind of professionalism to see these kinds of games out and neither the manager nor the more experienced players are providing it.
