  1. i am not even sure if we have ever looked as pathetic as bournemouth today. we at least tried some shots and stuff yesterday. bournemouth are an absolute excuse of aside. wish we could play them in that shape all year.
  2. errr that statistic cant be right. we just lost yesterday without him. also we had more than 11 games without him iirc
  3. lol danjuma simply gave the ball straight to vardy. it is as if they were piad. brilliant defending by ake on that instant. injured himself in the process.
  4. He is clearly their best defender but that's nothing to be proud of. That's like being the least corrupted EPL ref.
  5. they are terrible. but they could as well win today and still go down please. the whole team of theirs doesnt even know the offside rule. what a pathetic bunch. deserve relegation with every fibre.
  6. Bournemouth have even worse communication and organisation than we do. 3 players hunting a lost ball adn getting flagged offside
  7. still young compared to the oldest golden boot winners inserie a lol
  8. I know their defence is better than ours but Vardy scoring those goals when it matters and Tammy having failed so for months is what gave them this lead over us in the first place. It evaporated with Vardy's dry spell and now has returned. dont see bournemouth coming back from this. their morale is shit. at least we are not the only ones.
  9. 1-0 vardy over. what a scrappy goal. looks like one we concede. stuipi errors from afc giving the ball away time and time again. poor clearanc eas well. the iheanacho shot was going nowhere
  10. you remember when bournemouth were quoting us for callum wilson for 50m. what a bullet dodged. guy cant even control simple passes. afcb should have taken our 30m bid
  11. a rare mistake and the pass was shit got him under unnecessary pressure. i have seen ulreich complete some incredible saves. as a back up goalie to challenge kepa he would be a nice low budget solution
  12. Statistically that is not quite true. Teams with a good defense tend to have low scoring games such it is more likely to avoid defeat but less likely to win, whilst good attack is more likely to win or lose. So on average the better offense picks up more points. So one should rather phrase it offense wins leagues, defense wins cups. The thing is we dont really even have a good offense yet, not scoring enough goals.
  13. I agree. We have to allow Lamps some leeway here. He lost our by far best player. Our best players like Azpi, Willian (yes sadly) are all a year older or often coming from a bad injury like Rüdiger, RLC. still he managed to integrate a couple of (more or less talented) youngsters, had a fucking transfer ban, got extensions of CHO, Tomori, Mount, pitched Werner and Ziyech to come here and on top of that managed to get us almost as many points as we had last season. He has his mistakes which are particularly annoying but I think he has at least fulfilled expectations (mine was 6th place) given his mammoth task. Nothing but respect for how he handled it characterwise with serenity and professionalism. He is not the finished article as a manager and neither we are as team.
  14. there are tons of great back up gks available that i would take over kepa obviously. I particularly like Emmy Martinez for his incredible calm, power and anticipation. Another one would be Sven ulreich who has been absolutes stalwart when featuring for the often injured neuer.
  15. If they are mutually exclusive, i would say the latter. I don't think havertz is an option (monday we will know if there is a slight chance). A top CB, LB , gk (defensive coach) would go lightyears in improving us overall. With a world class defense we can win the league.no kidding. But I think there is more of a chanceof us getting havertz (provided we get CL) than stomping a wc gk, cb and lb out of the ground in the current market.
  16. Indeed. We are one of the easiest teams to play against. We either, occassionally, completely wipe teams away and then just concede a few poor goals but still grind out a narrow wind or we absolutely collapse defensively once we are put under pressure. So every team fancies their 50:50 chance that we have a shit game. Liverpool play every game on like 80% and usually manage to grind something out by being solid at the back and having Mane, Salah scoring a fluke goal or getting a weak pen to win it. When you start having a rock solid defence you really make it difficult for teams to break you down.
  17. a strikeforce that has scored a combined 5 goals all year before today has scored 3 times vs us.
  18. was thining the same. the ball is not even right in the corner. it is right at him. his positioning is so shit that he noticed he was too far in the narrow corner and adjusted himself in the exact moment the ball was headed against his direction of movement. still if he would be better at well.... moving he would catch that easily as it was not even that powerful a header. Kepa is simply not build to be a professional athlete. Zouma should be winnign the header vs the smaller man tho, albeit it is christensen's positon as right cb
  19. Lamps might be shit at coaching defense. But today that was not the main problem. We just could not get a grip of the game in midfield or get any kind of penetration offensively. If you are that meek attacking wise it is only a matter of time till you concede. Obviously, james and AC are shit but the first goal was super unlucky and i can not really put that on tactics when there were just so many individual misakes in a row. But clearly, we were not set up properly to deal with them overall, esp in midfield. we couldnt deal with their high press even with jorginho. We didnt know what to do when they started loading the flanks with 3,4 players. It really begs the question what is the identity of Lamps's defensive tactics? We know very well how he intends to workon the offense but we dont know shit what he asks from his defenders. Whether its high line or low, high or medium block, cb stepping out to doulbe up on wingers or cms dropping deep, striker covering the inside. The thing is i have seen all kinds of strange movement patterns from our players in defense. Today zouma made a completely weird and needless trip to the left side to help out azpi of all people who was doing fine, when pulisic was already there to provide cover. zouma then noticed that he was not needed and quickly retreated. the scene went unpunished but it was weird to see. On another occasion I saw tammy tracking the underlapping CB on another occasion i saw him deliberately not doing so. Either the players are doing what they want or he overexerts them. Either way our defensive tactics are very erratic and lack a coherent system. Lampard had enough time to deal with this shit over the corona break and obviously still has not come out with a solution. The only one will be to sign defenders that are smart enough to figure our defence on their own. JT/Carvalho/Cole etc managed to do that a lto under defensively clueless coaches like Grant and Scolari so I dont think it is unheard of. Quite a few great coaches have gotten away with knowing fuck all about defending by just being given the right personnel. Lets hope Lampard gets this chance too to give him timo to improve there.
  20. Everyone on here knows and has said that Barkley is not good enough. Obvioulsy Lamps has a soft spot for Barkley and Mount so they are playing. Also because they are English and they understand him better than our other midfielders. But whilst Mount has at least some promise with his energy and would probably be a decent addition for a team that is already completed, he clearly has not the talent to carry our midfield which he currently is asked to do. Barkley on the other hand just is superfluous. He may be a good soldier who does what is asked of him to the best of his ability. Its just his ability is not there. He used to be an interesting talent back in his first 3 years at Everton when he would drive at defenders with pace and shoot from ourtrageous distance. Teams just couldnt deal with him. But this does not work vs parked buses. And as he matured he got positionally more disciplined he completely erased his natural attacking instincts to become the personified mediocrity he is now. He just relegated himself to be a complete redundancy. You can't blame him for trying to develop into a better player. Boy has he tried. He always wants the ball, always tries to work something hard, works hard in training from what i have read but he just does not cut it. Again, in a world where he could just drive through midfield keep his head down and shoot he would be perfect. But he neither has the talent nor the football intelligence to develop himself into what we need. It is foolish to insist on playing him. Today we did not really have other options... but even Lamps should have see the light now.
  21. I hope it is clear now why I said he is not good enough and never will be good before the season. That is not hate btw. It is just a realistic assessment. I wish he was good enough and I dont think he is a bad striker, he and his style of play is just not for a top club where there are tons of defenders giving you no space every game. As soon as he has space he is alright but sadly this will be the case for very few of our games and even then it would help if he put away his chances. He will be a great signing for a mid-table club. could even see him do well in Bundesliga for a club like Frankfurt, schalke or mainz. But at a club like Chelsea a striker basically needs to be a one man army who can create and score his own chances and help the build up play and that is just not his thing.
  22. Norwich is the last game of the season we will win if at all
  23. worst overall performance from us so far under lamps
