Magic Lamps

They have been better then they had for the entire season today and we did not even give them a sniff at goal. This was a highly concentrated defensive performance. We have conceded against all kinds of shit teams. We definitely have conceded tons of chances even vs poor teams like Watford and Villa. But today we completely shut out a team. I think this deserves praise even if it as just Norwich.

Jorginho is the best player in the world when it comes to reliable slowing the game down and keeping the ball circulating ponderously between him and our defenders.Was helpful for keeping it at 1-0 today on both ends but you can see why Lamps does not fancy him. I am not a Gilmour fan buthe passes it with more urgency and sees spaces that Jorginho doesnt or is too cautious to use.

early on in the season we look great at times but also completely drifted out of games when our steam ran out. we can not afford that this late in the season. The important thing is whether we will be able to turn the switch in a few week. No we are obviously more concerned of making no mistakes and grinding out a goal or two, it's Sarriball 2.0.But it worked last year and might work again. the playersclearlydont have the fitness atm to press the shit out of teams like we did early on. We will still play quick when we can like we did vs City or when villa gave us space. It is not gonna happen very often from now on tho.

Our chances to win vs Utd AND City in the final are minimal, both are much better than us. We should play the youngsters, but keep the defense that started today to not break it up. It was just norwich but they were excellent today. Even Alonso was decent in defense. We were knackered today. We need to be fresh vs Liverpool and Wolves, otherwise weare without a chance

The goalkeeper problem is not gonna solve itself by throwing money at it. A goalkeeper is always a gamble, that is why you should not overspend like we did. oblakis obviously worldclass top 3 gk in the world. but he has been protected by Atletico low block and wc defense. Imagine he comes here with rüdiger in front of him, concedes a stupid header, then an own goal, bang goes the trust, never starts getting on with the backline and another 100m down the drain. We need a good goalkeeper but one who is also comfortable with doing having a terrible defense in front of him so that he knows how to organise it. neuer is not even close to being the best german goalkeeper anymore. but he still starts forgermany cos he knows what and when to shout at his defense so they get their positioning right, knows how to communicate, knows when to come out (mostly), when to claim balls. he is not as dependend on his defence as kepa and to a some degree oblak bc he takes responsibility on itself and makes the calls. everyone respects him for that even tho he seems to be an obnoxious guy

our game plan surely was not perfect. but we created enough chances to score 5 or 6. It has been the story of the season. Even more than our shit defending from set pieces andcounter attack swe have squandered way too many chances. giroud alone could have had 4 today. We are slow as we are knackered. But today should have been not overly exhausting. we should be fresh for Utd.

even though this was just a 1-0, it is not htat we have been hanging on for dear life. we could have scored more but we defended well today. too much negativity on here. this was a mature performance in defence. Our attack is just terrible

krul has been amazing but we should have scored double figures from the chances. i cant remember asingle game where we did not have chances for years and not taken 90% of them.
