SID prolly refers to Sport Informationsdienst a Sports media syndicate that usually sells on its content to the main papers In this case it could as well be Sid the sloth from ice age as they just pass on bitter Völlers BS. The deal will go through

was absoltuely baffled by that. Choupo Moting failed two clorious chances. Icardi would have been perfect for this scenario. terrible choice to let icardi rot on the bench. i thought he was maybe cup tied or sthlike that at first bc he never played when i watched. weird stuff

True psg Defence was class. Even kehrer just had a meh game not even a shocker. Apart frontet goal bayern had just one chance. Bayern are just so clinical it’s madness. If we had neuer and they had Kepa we would have thrashed them at the bridge
-
As usual. Opponents have all the chances but Bayern score the goals. Yawn. Psg offense had a shitterbut still created 3 or more 💯 % chances. Without neuer they would have won it. Sad day to be alive

I think this narrative of ‚it’s not your money so why you care about price‘ is short sighted. We care about the club and it’s finances so we don’t want the Club to buy overpriced players ( which we also find far from outstanding). A deal which could impair the clubs future finances And squad planning even if the deal would be financially doable right now. You can find something too expensive even if you are not paying yourself just like with any sponsored purchases. When my employer pays my trainings I don’t automatically pick the most expensive one just because I can cos I know that it might get deducted from my future budget.

He just can’t stop beating that dead horse for weeks now. It appears the most fiercely contested competition in England is not the PL but the title of the worst pundit out there and Merson has given himself a headstart before the season even begins.
-
Exactly. Similar players both flavor of the month. the main difference is the price tag and to some extend it is annoying Chilwell is injured. those 50m will be a massive chip on Chilwells shoulder while Regu would fly a bit under the Radar for the bargain he is. Would probably also command lower wages. Chilwell has the Baba Rahman vibe and we know leftback does not solve itself by throwing money at it. So of we are to throw money let it be not that much so it crippled our room for planing the future.

killer lineup. Can Mason play in a double pivot tho? The only sides i really dont wanna face in CL are bayern and PSG the others i think we can somewhat manage. Esp real and juventus are in such disarray we should be able to compete.
-
Ideal scenario given we are probably signing chilwell anyway would be to get rid of Alonso and Emerson. Sign Regulion as Chilwells bakckup, allow for the buy back closeepxriing in 2021 and afterwards let Regulion play over Chilwell. Then sell Chilwell with a profit.
-
that is true. 50m seems to be the standard price for an average but young, up and coming full back. Cancelo, Mendy are not even much better than Chilwell now.

according to whoscored defending set pieces is one of their major weaknesses
-
This is why I am not worried. He used to be one of the fastest CBs around and has kept himself fit. It is the strain of playng twice per week that is getting to him rn and he still looks the best defender in the CL final rounds tourney. He needs to be managed carefully but he could give us so much in terms of experience and football IQ. Zouma, Rüdi, Zouma are fairly quick so he can just tell them where to run basically lol.
-
whoever that might be. lets hope he is a set-piece nerd At the dunk extension: massive bullet dodged
-
It's amazing. I am watching it on my 85'' qled and the mere presence and intensity Lampard has is giving me shivers. Still a painful reminder we could have had 2 trophies (albeit 2 mediocre ones but still trophies) and ended with 0 which was only down to our lack of clinicalness and tactical naivety.

tbf Azpilicueta recorded the 2nd fastest top speed of all our players last season in November with north of 35kmh.

Almost managed to pull off that greenish suit if he hadn't buttoned it up completely- noob mistake lol

Best video of Ed Mendy I found so far. He looks very athletic and proactive coming out of his goal with good timing. He has crazy long arms and hands. When he just stands he can move hand and wrist above the crossbar. Looks weird but this is why doesnt usually make saves with outstretched arms like a normal goalkeeper. The big downside I see is that he parries most shots right back into the danger area like courtois did at atletico.

This long lost big brother of Ferlan and Benjamin mendy (jk) apparently has conceded just 19 goals int eh french league this season (albeit playing just 24 games). and kept a cleansheet in 13 of 33 overall games which is an impressive ratio for an average side like Rennes. He is already 28 tho. With him Rennes finished 3rd last season btw so maybe we should trust lollichon on this one. Honestly never seen a single minute of him before.

@kellzfresh Our strength lies in midfield so I don’t think will deviate from one striker systems. I can’t see Ziyech or Pulisic working in a 442 when Pulisic returns from injury, I think Giroud will be dropped to the bench and Werner moved to the middle. what i consider our best lineup ina traditional 4231 would be Kante Kovacic ziyech Havertz Pulisic Werner bit bc Lamps loves Mount so much I doubt we will see it.
-
Werner works best in a 442 next to a target man. He can play lone striker in almost any system but is less effective there cos his passing is quite average and he does not really help the build up play. He is better receiving the ball i to his foot deeper on the left or playing off the shoulder. Havertz is still young enough to learn pretty much any offensive or midfield position to perfection. But he has been used primarily and to great effect as the right offensive midfielder in a 4231 . He has enough pace to play wing but would be a bit wasted out wide cos he is an able playmaker. Also not the most explosive. He might also work as the most offensive cm in a 433. less likely but possible options for him include false nine or classic no 10 in a 4231 or 343 Lampard prolly had Position and formation in mind when he pitched for Werner and Havertz. So he probably knows where to put them. vs Brighton Puli is out so I could imagine New GK Azpi Rudi. Zouma. Chilwell Kante Mount. Havertz Ziyech. Giroud. Werner but I could see Kovacic starting in midfield and Havertz play false 8 if we have that in our locker as well.

They are good when it comes to breaking news early but I never trust them with concrete numbers as they usually tend to exaggerate
-
thats basically free lunch there for these wages.

Decent schedule. Obviously the kick off times will be interesting to see as well but overall the fixture list looks rather even. Only May can be a bit corny with 3 potential top6 rivals faced but apart from that no extended periods of too easy or too hard games all at once. I dont think we can challenge for the title yet but if we did, this would be set up for a runaway title. If we could waltz through the festive period, come out of winter unscathed and then win all the April games we could theoretically have a good 85 points or so wrapped up by May 1 and then only need a few more points. not gonna happen would need a better defense and that is probably why epl gave us this relatively kind schedule this year^^

Underdogs usually choke it at some stage. Could have easily won today but Bayern are famous for their luck.

thats the puke final settled then. two of he most disgusting teams in europe... great
