2. Jamie Redknapp's hopes of pursuing a coaching career with Chelsea have been dashed. The Daily Mail says Redknapp has been blocked from taking up a part-time coaching role at Chelsea by his Sky Sports employers. He was due to work unpaid for two days a week with the Chelsea reserve side as part of his coaching badge qualification. But the Sky Sports high command, who were not impressed by being left in the dark over Redknapp’s coaching plans, have moved quickly to ensure it doesn’t happen.
 3. we need are brilliant home form back if we want to win the league this year
 4. CLAUDIO RANIERI is desperate to avoid a Champions League showdown with former club Chelsea. The Juventus boss ensured his side finished top of Group H last night with a goalless draw against BATE Borisov. But that means Ranieri could now be handed a last 16 clash with the Blues, who had to settle for second place in their group. And the Italian, who bossed for four years until his sacking in 2004, said: "The strongest would have to be Chelsea. "But if we have to face them at some stage we might as well eliminate them at once. "It depends on you how you are at the time. If you are in form and your opponents are not having chances to win, names don't matter."

The attacking midfielder would be linked to the reigning champions until 2012 if this information was confirmed by the German giants. 11. Mr Abramovich made a surprise visit to Nevada Smiths in New York on Saturday in order that he could keep tabs on Chelsea’s progress in their match at the Reebok Stadium against Bolton Wanderers. Nevada Smiths is the home of The New York Blues, a bar where ex-pats and American Chelsea supporters regularly gather to watch their side via satellite TV. Chelsea’s Russian owner was in the United States on business but took the opportunity to join the regulars in their haunt and, much to the delight of those in the bar, sat amongst the Blues supporters to cheer on his side. Those present took the opportunity to meet Chelsea’s owner and, as well as having their photos taken with him, took the opportunity to discuss affairs at Stamford Bridge and also to watch the match. The New York Blues was set up by exiled Londoners Steve and Mike Neat who, despite living on the other side of ‘the pond’, make regular visits back to the UK to watch Chelsea play. http://www.freewebs.com/newyorkblues/index.htm
