European aways are the ultimate away game to go to. They really are unbeatable. First European away was to the Nou Camp in April 2009 in the semi-final. After beating Liverpool 3-1 in the first leg I instantly booked up flights and got them for £20 return we drew 0-0! After that I went to Atheltico Madrid, this time with a bigger group of us. Stayed over for 2 nights and there was a bigger group of us, so was a much better trip. We drew that game as well 2-2 with Sergio Aguero getting both their goals. After the game the Spanish old bill decided to get there batons out and go at the Chelsea fans with them. That most certainly wasn't fun. Then it was to the San Siro for Inter Milan. We lost the game 2-1, but after the game we found a bar run by AC Milan supports and they were really nice. They gave us free food and alcohol. Doesn't really get better than that! Then came Zilina. When we first got them I was devestated. I thought it would be a terrible trip. I couldn't of been any more wrong. Best trip to date. €1 pints, €1.50 quadruple Vodka + Red Bull and because we bought so much alcohol they under charged us. Was never going to be a bad trip like that. I'd finally seen us win in a foreign country as well. We won the game 4-1. After that there was a trip to South of France in December. 20 lads on the Eurostar for 8 hours was always going to end up very messy. I imagine the cleaning bill was more than what they got for our tickets...Marseille was probably the most intimidating place. It was a grim town and the locals didn't seem to take a liking to us. The police weren't friendly either as I found out when I got pepper sprayed in the escort to the ground. We lost the game 1-0. The last European away I went on was Copenhagen. I knew Scandinavia in February was going to be cold, but -12 degrees is bloody horrible. Spent the whole time shaking. Was a great trip though, locals were friendly and there was great banter flying about. Shame that it was really expensive. Paid £8 for a pint in one place. This season I already have Valencia, Genk and Leverkusen booked up. Cannot be any more excited, especially after remembering some of the past memories I've had. Love it!
