  1. Yeah he was shocking in midweek in the chmp league. Arsenal have been held so far, another 45 mins of that sounds good to me.
  2. Will probably hover over all the games tbh on soccer saturday. Thats the one i might watch though if i watch a strea i cant watch soccer saturday as because of the delay they tell you who scores before you see it, so it will probably be one or the other.
  3. We need someone who will convert those great chances that he has been getting. And its not like it has to be falcoa, but someone who is a clinical finisher. Even someone like defoe. He is a great finisher from around the box. If we had him upfront this season we would have scored a hell of a lot more. Our start of the season however has been extremely good in terms of results, but it won't be long when those one on ones will really matter and we don't want to see that happen. We can only ask torres to do his best, but if his best is not good enough for us then alternate options need to be found and as of right now that man is daniel sturridge. Now come on torres, prove us all wrong tommorrow.
  4. That used to be legal, then they changed the rules.
  5. No one is saying if we play sturridge then we will have the equivilant of falcoa, but you are not human if you do not get slightly frustrated at the number of wasted oppertunites we are having atm. These oppertunities could well be at a premium especially against the likes of man utd. Furthermore, no one is "hating" torres, everyone gets behind him all the way when he plays for us and i will be exactly the same when he starts on sunday as he puts in a lot of effort; and anyone who wears our shirt deserves our support. However, it has to come to a point where putting in a lot of effort, isn't good enough. Danny starting one game doesn't spell the end of torres, but means he knows that he has competition for places, (which all the football pundits seem to think doesn't exist) so giving danny a chance has surely got to be worth trying. Maybe a league game vs united isn't the best time to make as big a change as switching strikers, but a league cup game vs them would be the perfect time to give him 90 mins and then if he plays well he gets to start at the weekend.
  6. I don't think they are outlandish claims. We have seen what sturridge can do at striker from his loan spell at bolton. We have also seen his impact he has made in his rare appearances as sub. Most of the time he makes more of an impact than torres had done in his previous 75 mins on the pitch. And we can't really do a comparsion without giving him a chance. Also, he has grabbed some goals which everyone is glad at, however we do have hazard mata oscar behind him. As a trio that is probably up there in the top 4 AM trios in the world. As a lone striker with that creativity behind you, you should really be scoring goals. For me, it is clear who atm is the better out and out striker.
  7. Yeah that is a good point... I could well be wrong on that one. Though there arn't many of us who truly believe anyone other than torres will start at ST.
  8. Lol, but back on topic, i think if you ask a man u fan who would they prefer to see up top i would think they would prefer to see torres.
  9. Lets be honest... he would be a beast, though i would play him at CB. Also, that picture is so funny, earl boykins 5ft 5 130lbs, the shaq 7ft 1, 330 lbs. And thats nothing... Bougues 5ft 3, and Bol 7ft 7
  10. Ok, but in all honesty, we are most successful going down the middle or cutting inside from wide positions. We don't do as many standard crosses, and in general when we do they are unsuccessful as in comparison to defenders torres isn't that good in the air. For the 3 AM's we have there is a higher priority for players who will latch onto through balls and get shots off. RDM will go with torres because he knows what we get with him and we have a great record so far this year. Hoprfully torres turns up and does to man u what he used to when he played for liverpool, as we would all love it. You don't know how much i want to be proven wrong but I as a lot of people just feel the same way when torres gets the ball with time in a dangerous area.
  11. Didier was a beast in the air, because he was 6ft 2 and MORE IMPORTANTLY A BEAST IN THE AIR. If he was 6ft he would still have been a beast in the air, just a slightly shorter one... Case in point. Tim cahill is a heading machine but is 5 ft 11. Height doesn't make you useful in the air, unless your crouch in which case you have such an edge, jumping and heading ability doesn't matter as much. Also we are talking about a 1 inch difference. Its not like sturridge is 5ft 7.
  12. Why is everyone going on about height. They are both around 6ft... However none of them are drogba. Cech often hits it out wide to ivan to header it rather than straight down at torres. If you look man for man then sturridge has to start. Yes torres has been better this season than last, however we all know he has hardly lit anything up and has messed up every one on one. As i said in a different thread, torres is great atm IF he doesn't have to think about anything, i.e. his first touch shot vs newcastle, his goals scored from a header etc, however any time he has to think about what he is going to do, 90% of the time he either messes up his shot or slows doen so much he gets tackled. Danny is more selfish (he is a lone striker he is allowed to be), and he looks more threatning when he is on the pitch. He also looks like he can create something out of nothing and will be able to convert some of the chances Hazmat and oscar will create for us... And as for some talk about defensive qualities... If we are worrying about our lone strikers defensive duties then we have big problems. I want our striker to worry about scoring and creating chances not whether he is tracking back or putting in the effort running back. HOWEVER: We all know that none of it matters as RDM will play torres.
  13. Probably wont play a part on sunday but will get a start or make an apperance on tuesday... If he does play a part on sunday, that would be some game to make an appearance in.
  14. I will probably avoid the utd match. Too many possibilities for me. Its not inconcievable for the result to go any way, and even results like 3-3 with the shaky defences we both have. As always GL though.
  15. So funny. especially around 4:45 LOL.
  16. I don't think playing more defensively is the answer. 100% agree on daniel sturridge starting. Tbh, i cant see us keeping them out for 90 mins if RVP and rooney show up. I think we have to come out fast, having 4 attacking players isn't like we are going all out, we have mikel who will definately sit in and ramires who is up and down all game. We didn't have a good game against shakhtar, but then we have had good games against the majority of teams this season, with the exception being against qpr when we played a more defensive lineup. If we play that lineup then we will probably have to soak up a lot of pressure which i don't think we can handle. If you look at the man u fans opinions on the game, who are they scared off??? Hazard mata and oscar, they are afraid that those 3 can link up together and take the game away with their speed and passing ability, not to mention mata is the most in form player in the prem right now. If they saw that lineup they will be much happier than seeing our normal lineup (except danny in for torres). Also, is playing super frankie in there gonna make us that much more defenisve... I doubt it. And i think oscar is being underestimated in the defending apartment. Yes he is not the best, but he gets back and has done well in defence in the early parts of the season. I say we go at them from the start and go from there, rather than be cautious and let them get on the front foot.
  17. I highly doubt any of them wise guys actually wrote it. This whole waste of time is just dragging on... Get over it for fuck sake... They just want to increase their publicity and to appear like they are just the innocent bystanders.
  18. Go on the official chelsea website. Click on tickets. Buy tickets. Membership. Then fill out the form. Adult membership is 25 pounds i think, if you just want the ticket privledges.
  19. I think we have beaten them before... We can worry about that if we qualify...
  20. Yeah i do agree with you somewhat there. The shakhtar defeat pulled us back and gave us a reality check, after high flying league form beating tot and ars. Should be a wake up call for the team and i expect them to be fully determined and on it come sunday.
