Kinda expected that tbh. ADL is a nutter. He'll want the full 8 million. Just pay up. Last thing we need is for this to drag out for weeks.

Shit on a stick football this season and no CL next season. These are facts aswell. His first season was great, his second was very very poor an FA cup doesn't change that.

From a Napoli fan on another Chelsea forum : "he's not gonna reply exactly the same game as we were used in naples, he's not that stupid He changes with what he has. His original tacts was 4231, as he was playing in empoli. when he came in naples he tried that formation for a couple of game and he switched to a 433 because was more balaced and solid. Left or right doesn't matter, we were building the game on the left cause insigne and ghoulam are better in playmaking and have more pushing attitude, while on the right side hisay is more defensive, giving the change to callejon to appear from nowere and collect the insigne pass from the other side. He mostly plays with a very high defensive line, with the two central defenders able to play the ball in case of pressing, spanish triangulations with the playmaker that in our case was jorginho, a man the always plays with one touch. Anyway it depends if he wonna continue with a 433 or get back to the 4231." Gotta say a 4-2-3-1 would look quite tasty. Buy Seri and Leon Bailey. Swap Wilian with Martial. Only position i'd still have some doubts would be the striker but i don't think we're gonna sell Morata after 1 year and signing an expensive striker while we still have Morata seems unlikely.

I don't believe he's actually been officially sacked. There's hasn't been an official message from Napoli saying he's been sacked just a message from their president thanking Sarri on twitter. On the official Napoli site he's still listed as their coach. Always though it seemed a bit too easy. Why would Napoli sack him and not get the 8 million ? They know Sarri is in demand. Why pass up easy money ?

Conte has been going through the motions since january. His attitude and demeanor on and off the pitch was night and day compared to before. Before he was jumping up and down the touchline screaming at players where to go while in the press conferences he would keep talking about working hard and fighting for the club. Since january we've rarely seen that Conte. Kept talking about how he's getting the maximum out of this team and bitching about our transfer dealings. Just seems like the fire Conte had in the beginning is gone and a Conte without that fire just isn't worth keeping around.

That's not really true. Stats do mean something you just have to take the time to understand how they get them and then use your head when using them to argue your point. That's where using multiple stats comes in. For example if someone were to claim a player only offers his dribbling people could then post that player's chance created stats and completely debunk that person's claim that the player in question is just a dribbler and nothing more.

Key passes is the combination of key passes, assists and big chances created. Passing is pretty much a general accurate vs inaccurate passes. The reason why Mason's passing is considered weak is because he has a low average passes per game (23.8 per game) and completes 77.8 % of them. Fabregas for example has his passing as very strong. He averages 68.4 passes per game and completes 83.5 % of them. Mason simply isn't giving enough passes. The more passes a player has per game (with a high pass succes %) the higher they will rate him.

Ofcourse Salah and KDB played a big part in their teams succes and performance this season but it wasn't just them though. Their entire team performed well. It wasn't just them that performed. That's the thing Hazard's dips and KDB and Salah's dips are similar but KDB and Salah's teams kept performing so it wasn't that noticeable. They kept getting into dangerous areas even when they weren't in form because other players were carrying the attack. Once Hazard's form drops we aren't getting into dangerous areas anymore. This is a team sport. Individual performances effect team performance while team performance also effects individual performances ( a player will find it more difficult to play well when his entire team is playing poorly. Similarly if his team is playing well he'll still get opportunities to score and assist even when that player is in poor form). Also side note, think you're exaggerrating Hazard's drop in form. He was still performing well in january and february(7 goals and 3 assists in those 2 months.) He had a poor march and halfway through april. Then he performed well again (not saying he was super form but he was good) till the last game against Newcastle where pretty much the entire team was shit.
-
Salah and KDB both play in attacking systems and their system isn't completely reliant on them alone. If they aren't in top form other players pick up the slack. That's the problem here. When Hazard isn't on his game there's no one to step in and our attack becomes a dead stick. I can assure you that both have had dips in form this season you just didn't notice it because some other player would pick up the slack and their team would keep playing well and keep winning. The moment Hazard gets a dip in form the entire team performance drops off massively.

I agree with you that Hazard should be playing as a 10 in a free role it's just that i consider a 10 in a 4-2-3-1 to be part of the midfield. That's why i referred to it as a 3 man midfield. For me that free role also allows him to drop into midfield, when neccessary, to link up with the rest of the team, aswell as stay high up the pitch and roam and interchange with the other attackers. A number 10 for me is as much part of the front 4 as he is of the midfield 3. I disagree. If we want to play possession then we're going to have to commit to it. We might get ours asses kicked from time to time but that's the only way we're going to grow and develop our possession game. Simply sticking in a more defensive player for "balance" isn't the way forward imo. I don't see why we wouldn't be compact in this formation ?
-
Debatable. Formations are fluid depending on the phase of the game the team is in. In a 4-2-3-1 you'd regularly find the nr 10 dropping into midfield to linkup with the other midfielders. Essentially making it no different to the 4-3-3. Look at the 2 lineups below, both are the 4-2-3-1 but in different phases of the game. The first one is when we're building up from the back the second is when we're defending. Only real difference is that the 10 has a more clear attacking role while the 8 would have a more defensive role to balance that out. Hazard is an attacking midfielder imo. He likes dropping deep, he likes passing the ball around. His off the ball movement mainly consists of either dropping deep or roaming in the central areas with the occasional run in behind.
-
If we actually want to play possession football then our 3 man midfield needs to have atleast 2 creative players in it. We already have Kante as the "destroyer". There really is no room for another detroyer or even a box to box player. A 4-2-3-1 would, imo, be our best bet as it would allow us to field a team capable of playing possession football with only 2 new players.(Jorginho and Martial)
-
Kante should have won it by a land slide and even if they wanted to have 2 different winners there's still several players that should have won it before Willian. Only thing i can think of that would make any sense is if Willian is leaving. All the players know it and this is somehow his parting gift from the players group.

back injury apparently

Yeah agreed. I really like Sarri. I think we need to hire a manager that's going to play a possession type of football and isn't going to compromise. One of the big problems has been that we've hired pragmatic managers, we play good football for a while then we end up going through a rough patch and they switch back to a more pragmatic way of football but there's no growth in that. We need a manager that isn't going to do that. Someone who's going to keep playing possession football even if we go through a rough patch and the results don't go our way. Regardless of the opponent whether it's a championship club or a top european club the football philosophy needs to be kept. Sarri could be that guy.

It's not about the level of the competitions but the tempo of it. The PL is played at a much faster tempo. He has no pace whatsoever. When our wingbacks push up the outside cb's have to deal with the wide threats with little to no back up. Can you imagine Alonso going up against a pacey striker or winger 1 on 1. He'd be massacred. Also have you noticed how many times Rudiger/ Cahill /Azpi are running after through balls and long balls into the corners. You simply need pace to play as an outside cb in a back three. You don't need to be lightning fast but you need to have some. Cahill atleast has some pace although calling him a great LCB is pushing it quite a bit. Cahill's been average to good for us sprinkled with some "jesus what the fuck are you doing " moments.
-
I know but the italian league isn't the same as the PL. Pace is a lot more important here.
-
Alonso at LCB ? I really hope you people are on crack.
-
I don't get it, sitting back against relegation fodder. Why are we so deep ? Why not take control of this game ?
-
Yeah me too. It's just the massive jump his stats have taken this season. A player that's never scored 20 + goals a season but is now on 45 goals with still 5-6 games left to play. It's just too big a jump to be sustainable imo. Normally players take a more steady rise when they up their stats. He'll probably go back to his normal numbers next season maybe a little bit more but i doubt he'll repeat this season and go into the 40's again.
-
Like i said it's a little different but at the end of the day the end result is the same. Okay fair enough not really sure though why that "sensitive" bit was needed. Hard to know that you didn't purposely leave Hazard out. Sorry but those are assumptions.
-
It's a little different but not a lot. One is directly saying something ,the other is indirectly saying something. Saying the same thing but just in a different way. Hazard is simply too honest for his own good. Most players think the same way Hazard does. Keeping their options open and evaluating each season. It's just that most players just lie their asses off. Even when they're looking to leave they'll talk about how much they love the club and never ever want to leave only for them to end up leaving a season later. As far as you thinking he's not committed and just decides when to show up and when not to. You're entitled to feel how you want to but do realize that those are assumptions not facts.
