Honestly i'm not going to debate this any further cause if you actually think Schurrle is as good as Hazard, after watching them both this season, then i don't think there is anything i can say that is going to change your mind. Schurrle is a good squad player but he's not as good or even "pretty close" to the quality of Hazard. Hiding behind the argument "they play different roles" is just ridiculous. There is a reason why one has been playing all season and the other has played the role of squad player.

It's not that uncommon for teams to play in a way that gets the best out of they're best player. You mention CR but Real played in a system that allowed CR to conserve his energy and not be responsible of tracking a fullback. They played a 4-4-2 where CR and Benzema only needed to cut of passing lanes other then that they didn't have much to do in defence. My point is that we should have never let Hazard get into that situation. He's a creative attacking midfielder and man marking isn't one of his strenghts. Hazard is an attacking midfielder if you put him into a position where he has to manmark Juanfran on his own in our own 18 yard box then yeah things aren't gonna go well.

Honestly i don't think it was lazy or even a lack of concentration from Hazard. He's basically being asked to play left back in that situation. He's being asked to man mark Juanfran. He doesn't spot Juanfran's run. Hazard looked seconds before Juanfran made the run. Hazard knew he was there but he turned his head to look at the ball and that's when Juanfran made the run. It's one thing asking hazard to track back and help out his FB, whole other story when you're asking him to play left back and be left on his own. Like Skipper said Hazard should never be asked to defend that deep especially not on his own.

Well what do you mean with everything ? In terms of attacking plays. A lot of the times he's up against 2-3 players so he kinda has a point. Also no secret that when we counter we rely heavily on Willian and Hazard's ability to run with the ball and take on players with usually little to no support.

Probably one of those convenient "mistranslation" the media loves to do. Pretty obvious to me that Hazard means "Chelsea are not made to play "possession football", Chelsea are made to play on the counter.

I don't expect Hazard to put in a 90 minute worldclass performance and dominate Atletico. Atletico are the second most difficult team in the world to score against and he's been out for about 3 weeks. So it's always gonna be difficult for him... What i do expect (hope for) is that 1 moment of brilliance that will create a chance for us to win it. In a game as tight as this one 1 moment is enough. I just hope we take it and don't squander it.
