  1. We never. We drew 2-2 and really it should have been a 1-2 loss because Ramires clearly dived to win the penalty which Hazard converted. But if he does miss out hopefully the increased winning mentality and actually having a quality striker will help this time.
  2. His work rate is excellent and the amount of assists he gets through counters is amazing. Him, Oscar and Willian do the defensive bit very well from what I have seen but offensively De Bruyne tops it. Shame it did nto work out for him here. Hope he goes on to have a great career either way.
  3. Best fullback in the league. Simple
  4. I rate them about the same. Cahill times his tackles to perfection most times while Koscielny is a bit more rash and concedes penalties much more often.
  5. I still think he is up there. Thought he was quality once again today. It is something that most fans seem to do in terms of being harsh on our players. Other fans and pundits see different. For instance earlier in the match, the commentator said something down the lines of "Cahill has really turned into an excellent all round CB". But basically giving him huge compliments. Despite his flaws he is one of my favourite players. Think he is a quality CB. Reminds me of Koscielny. Both rash, like to play a bit on the ball but both are quality defenders.
  6. And he is given the green light and freedom by country and club for a reason. You just like to have a one-sided view. How you could claim Sterling was poor and was bettered by Coutinho baffles me. It was Sterling who drew the most fouls, threatened us with his dribbling and shot which Courtois done well to save. You ask Liverpool fans who watch their team day in day out who their best 2 players is and they will tell you, Sterling and Sturridge. The rest are mediocre. Sterling is much more than just pace but you only see one way so we may as well leave it like that.
  7. Well agree to disagree then. I think Sterling was. Then after it was Can then Coutinho. IMO Sterling is the only real quality in that team so far when Sturridge is out injured. He needs more support up there because the rest are not on par with him. If he was tired I am sure BR woudl have said so.
  8. That is not my point. Managers can make decisions but surely if Coutinho was this great attacking threat today that you are creating him out to be, he would have stayed on Nike yes? But he went off and BR words were because "we were not creating enough". So your argument has been ended. The manager did not thought he contributed enough and therefore he went off. Sterling on the other hand stayed on. How can you say Coutinho was more of an offensive threat than Sterling? That is rubbish. I can tell you that the only player on that team I genuinelly was threatened by was Sterling because of his pace, dribbling and movement. You clearly are just being ignorant for the sake of it if you tell me he was awful.
  9. Yet it was Sterling who played the whole game and Coutinho went off. You really are smart aren't you? If he was there best offensive threat surely he would have stayed on? Sterling caused a few problems and imo it was him and Can who I give any credit from their team. When asked on why he subbed Coutinho, BR said "'I didn’t think we were creating enough so I made the change". And Sterling stayed on.....
  10. No. It is going to spur him on in the future. It is not like he does not know how to find the net. He has scored some fantastic goals for us before. He will regain his goalscoring touch. Keep the faith.
  11. He was the only one who troubled us from their team. Was a very good save from Courtois to stop him scoring but was the only one who kept popping up and causing us problems. Has pace to burn and superb strength.
  12. We played on Saturday. 4 days to prepare for this game. That is not a good enough excuse. Especially considering Maribor are much inferior opponents. Yes the majority of the team were below-par except Hazard who was a threat all game long. I agree that he made some key passes but for his standards his performance was below-par. Espeically considering he was outmuscled and dispossessed quite a few times. But yes, generally there was not enough bite in the team tonight. It is just amazing to reflect once again that people think you can completely disregard these type of games and leave out 3+ key players. This the Champions League we are talking about.
  13. He lost the ball several times. Especially in first half. Was physically poor as well. Second half a bit better and he made a few good long range passes but general performance below par.
  14. Wait for Nike to say "You can the difference between Modric and Fabregas. Modric yesterday dominated Liverpool. Like I was saying when under pressure, Fabregas is not comfortable in possession like Modric and Thiago are. This is why Fabregas was not wanted at Barca as he waste possession too much. Mourinho will soon realise that playing Fabregas against teams who don't give you time on the ball will not work". That being said he was poor tonight.
  15. The commentator for this match said "the Chelsea fans are really starting to appreciate Willian's contribution more". They really are not
  16. We still have not officially qualified yet....
  17. Ramires playing in the no.10? That is a first But in all seriousness we have to be serious here. There is no way Mourinho is going to leave out all three of Hazard, Fabregas and Costa. If any of three will be dropped it will be Drogba. The only way Mourinho would play this sort of team would be if the group is sealed which is not. We can't turn up complacent. I expect to see Fabregas and Hazard playing. I say finish the game early then make changes, That is the best approach,
  18. At the time Bayern did not go after Ozil and Khedira. Kroos is a different one as Kroos was offered a contract but wanted more which Bayern were not going to give so in the end they sold him for quite a lot of money. Also while Bayern have always been a major club domestically and continentally, when Khedira and Ozil left their respective German teams, the Bayern of then were much inferior to the Bayern of present who are almost formidable. They are a much more attractive proposition for players now.
  19. I was reading a few posts on their forum and while most of them agree he is the best defender at the club, most agree that Ayala and Gibson are a better partnership. Omeruo on the bench tonight as well.
