Hopefully that means Hazard is back in the team. Hope he puts on a show as well.

Because you made your mind up about him when City bought him and when he plays well you downplay it. He does need to improve on his finishing but that is a work in progress. He still gets into double figures for the season for 2 seasons running and definitely will so again. You stated that the hype was based on 1 game. It was not based on 1 game. Yeah, Suarez carried them but Sterling was also an important contribution as well. Suarez made them look world class. Suarez and Sterling made them even more fearsome. Even last season where he was inconsistent, he still got into double figures and despite his poor finishing at times, he scored some quality goals for them. The game against us for instance. Age is just a number and he has accomplished a lot for his age, LOL. Neymar is not even a good comparison. Neymar is 3 years older. We have high hopes for the likes of Boga and Musonda who are nearing 19 yet when Sterling was 17 he was playing in Liverpool's first team. How many 20 year olds do you see starting regularly for any team in the prem let alone for arguably the best team in England right now? Not much. I think that is naive to judge him as the finished article. If you take everything into consideration, he definitely will become a world class player.
-
I think you are too bitter to accept you probably will be proven wrong. Yeah, it was Bournemouth but it still is an excellent achievement to get a hattrick in first half against any top flight opposition. His second goal was of the highest quality as well. And if you said it was based on only 1 game you must have been born this season then because he showed his potential from when Suarez was around and was performing for Liverpool at the age of 17. Even if Sterling is inconsistent which he is, that is expected as he is only 20 but he has tremendous qualities and potential to be world class. But judging by the comments you made on him, you already made your judgement on him so not surprised...
-
Lucky we did never sell him to WHU and it is only a loan. Can you imagine him up against our defence at this current state of time. He would rip us a new one.
-
Dropping him for that game was ridiculous. I mean I know he wanted more defensive work but he could have said that to him on the side and told him to work on it. Villa are a team that should be concerned on defending our best player. It shouldn't have to be Hazard doing the other way around. Judging by Mourinho's words it seems it will continue as well with Hazard being on the bench. Just....

Playing in pre-season is different to playing in a Champions League fixture, LOL. I like him, yeah but using 1 pre-season game as evidence to say he is ready he is not inconclusive.
-
No. Loads of teams would take Hazard regardless. He is not a player who has lost his talent overnight and many teams with a different attacking style to us know they would do wonders with him in their team. Even Sterling was not that good at Liverpool last season. Mostly inconsistent but City did not care because they know they are a better team who would get the best out of him. Hazard would thrive in other set ups. I am sure of it. Just look at the amount of talented wingers who have failed to make an impact here but thrived at other clubs.

When you don't play matches for weeks on end, of course you are going to be rusty. He has barely played and that was his first league start. The more games he plays, the more accustomed to the physical nature of the league and he will improve hopefully. As Mourinho hardly rotates the FB, coming in is always going to be difficult as you are not fully match sharp. More games, more improvement.

We have lost so many genuinelly quality players because of Mou so don't be surprised.

So depressing watching Arsenal and City play and seeing how dull we are. I know we won but I want to see flair and some excitement. Our style of football from start to front has become so poor. Do we actually have any FB that are naturally attacking? Hazard being dropped because of his defensive performances apparently. He is on 0 goals. Is that because of his form or because of the way Mourinho is setting up the team? I think the latter. We are not getting the best our of our players. I am still skeptical of this current team tbh. We won 2-0 and were very comfortable but how many clear cut chances are we creating? Our first goal came from a Villa defensive error. But really Arsenal or City at home would be battering Villa. Just look at what having a natural RB does for a team. Bellerin constantly caused havoc to that Watford defence and it was his individual brilliance that got them the third goal. We lack this and it holds us back big time. It says a lot when our top scorer in the league is Own goals. We need to create more from back to front. I know it comes across as me being pessimistic and so on when we won but we have seen this before and got back to square one. Look at the stats. We had 9 shots, they had 8 while we had 3 shots on target compared to their 1. We should be blowing this team away. Not squeezing our way through, especially when we are the home team Look at Arsenal away at Watford. 17 bloody shots on goal while they dominated possession hugely. They have their identity set up and know how to open teams up. We seem clueless a lot of times. Then look at City now. 15 shots and 11 on target and that is without both LB who were injured and had Sagna playing at LB. Then also not to add to the fact that Silva and Aguero were both injured. Just tells the story and the table does not lie. Happy with the win but as stated I would be lying if I said I thought we were on the right step. We still seem to get dominated in certain parts of the games against much inferior opponents. We have most of our outfield team fit and have not been convincing. Big few games ahead to see how much the team have actually improved.

Overall he has been poor. Made a good couple tackles but has been caught out defensively way too much. I actually think he fouled Ozil but play continued before Sanchez scored. He may have got a little touch but could have easily been called for a penalty and would have been a red. He also was skinned by Bellerin for the third goal, Decent start but overall has been poor tbh. Exploited way too much. He is not a natural LB tbh.
-
If Mourinho leaves him on the bench against Dynamo Kiev as well that will just piss me off. Yeah, Mourinho might not be pleased with his defensive work or whatever but he is our best player and the majority of our team have been piss poor. If Mourinho continues to do this it is going to kick us in the teeth.
-
Yeah but if he was playing games he would have stayed. That was most important reason why he left.
-
Liked him here but he has not made much of an impact at Wolfsburg unlike KDB. Lost his place in the team last season and is more of a rotational player. One thing I liked him for was his ability to score goals from anywhere.
-
He would get frustrated here though imo. We just don't play good football. Compare the way us and City play. Sterling already on 5 goals. They play in a way to suit him. He is a quality player and like I said in the last page before the season started, he will easily get in to double figures for them. Sanchez on 6, Sterling on 5, KDB already on 3 or so and we got Hazard on none. I know he has not been good but he is suffering becasue of a lack of attacking quality in the team.
-
Yeah, can't help but agree. I think if the likes of Hazard would be near double figures should he be at City. Hazard still on 0 goals is frustrating.
-
You should see all our youth team players and U21 players on instagram. All of them have new flashy 15 plate cars. money gets to them and for a lot of them their focus goes from football and is more on materialistic things and impressing girls.
-
Well that is his excuse to say I started a youth player...
-
If he isn't scoring, he is assisting.
-
Hattrick in first hallf. Pretty impressive.
-
Would not be a guaranteed starter there at all. Jerome is their no.1 striker atm and Mbokani has been brought in on loan. Not to add to the fact that like Palace they only play with one CF and have about 5 in reserve.
-
Interesting that despite his indifference in form, he still is joint top in the most created chances from open play. As I have said before, I don't think he has been awful as people make out. He just seems too passive at times and chooses to come to life when he feels to but there have been several games this season where he has took on responsbility. Swansea second half, he was fantastic. WBA, second half, his ball retention was top class and constantly won us fouls which was key in us getting the win despite being down to 10 men. Arsenal he was excellent. Newcastle had a poor first half but second half stepped up. No way near as good as last season but not as poor as people make out. Just want him performing on a constant basis.

Everton are not mediocre. They are a good team but just not a world class one. Also, things change in football and transfers happen which you would of had no idea of happening a year ago. Would you have guessed last year Martial would be bought for United for such an astronomical fee and be leading their line despite never being prolific in France and having a inferior scoring record to Lukaku? It is easy to say no big team will take him but football and the transfers associated with it changes dramtically. You see the unspectacular. If Lukaku contues his form, a big team will want him for sure. Even if it is not in Europe. Because they will see as well as a short term investment, he is also a huge long term investment and that will be a big say, when teams put bids in for him.
