We played unwell but either way, it’s been a big week. Going to CL last 8, lucky draw, the n going to FA-cup last 4. Four goals scored, zero conceded, never worse.
We have to be careful though. I watched Porto’s both games against Juve, they are defending really good. Mbemba has improved a lot since Newcastle days and Pepe still plays with big passion.
What is good that their 2 top scorers(Oliveira amd Taremi) will both be suspended in the first game, good chance to get another clean sheet but we also must score in Portugal to start the second leg from comfortable situation.
Nice. We can add one more name to the list of great strikers who joined us after their prime(Shevchenko, Torres, Anelka, Pato, Falcao. However he wouldn’t cost any money, no big risk.
TT just confirmed he will be out tomorrow:
‘Thiago had a little setback in training at the end of the training session the day before yesterday. He felt at the very end something around the same area where he was injured so we had to take him off, so he is back into a transition phase but not back into team training.
Ofc, I am not saying situation is 100% same, just that a defender playing for a shity club which concedes many goals doesn’t mean they can’t be Chelsea level.
However, we can also take Mount or CHO as examples. Mason had only played for Vitesse and Derby before Chelsea but made instant impact. Callum is one of our most influental player right now without ever sent out on loan
If TT sees fantasy in either Ampadu or Guehi(or any other youngster in our bound) I think he can build them in slowly.
Gary Cahill also played for a then to-be-relegated bolton when we signed him in January 2012. In four months, he was Champions League and FA-cup winner, playing key role in both and in the forthcoming years he pretty much won everything with the club.
Both Ampadu and Cahill will play in bigger club then their current ones, hopefully it will be Chelsea.
Agree with the inconsistency part. Should be always awarded with yellow card.
First yellow card was harsh? He trashed Chiesa. I support for Porto tonight but I think this red card is not on the ref, it’s just plain stupidity of the player.
It was fair. Very stupid move from the Iranian guy. After whistle you don’t kick the ball out of the stadium, especially if you are booked.
Huge mistake in such level and such competive match.
