its good to see i was mistaken and there is an actual 6 moth old thread on lucas.

apart from playing Lukaku, this was an oppertunity missed to try out more youngsters. I assume he brought on Torres woith drogba as a possible scenario for the CL final, but then again what would we have learned more about our 2 centre forwars yesterday that we didn't know before... beats me.

It all a matter of expextations. that aside, Torres is one of the best strikers in modern football, but the focus of the amount of goals scored takes away from the other positive things he does each game (movement, teamplay and assisted goals). The man is quality!!

Modric style of paying is well suited for the spurs and arsenals of this world, but the way chelsea play football I believe that schweinsteiger (if bayern ever agree to selll him) is more suitible. By the way, why don't people talk about the brazilian winger Lucas.... the man is amazing.

i'd say experiment playing torres with drogba for the 1st half (this paring just might do the damage against munich), and bring on lukaku for the 2nd.

Romeu definitley should not start with his current form, would prefer Essien (even after the performance at anfield)... and definitly torres with drogs upfront.

mikel simply needs to emulate makalele (release the simple pass as soon as you get the ball). He is very talented on the ball, but hence lies the problem, the skills he has works well for an attacking midfielder or even a more central role. But for defensive midfielders such skills are useless, because any cockups would expose the whole defense... ala the Arsenal 3-5 game. Just Imagine if Makalele would have tried to do a Pat Nevin each time he recieved the ball... we would never have won all those trophies. I really believe if Mikel is promoted to the lampard role once lamps retires, we will see one the best midfielders in the world.
