Just so we're clear if it comes down to Rooney OR Eto'o its Rooney all day. The problem is Utd don't look like selling him to us so as a secondary target, Eto'o is a great option. Good players can play anywhere and Eto'o is one of them, he's already played at an elite level with Barca and Inter, he's maintained a goal every 2 his entire career, I sincerely doubt he'll have any trouble with Lescott, Ferdinand, Evans, Vermaellen, Caulker, Walker etc... He's handled much better players for his entire career. 100k for a guy who's scored 1 in 2 his entire career is not a bad number either, my concern will be term no more than 2 yrs with a club option at best.

To be fair 4pts from 6 in our last two games is about what I expected heading into the games. The fact that we let a result slip in the last 10mins is inconsequential. There aren't really any of those types available for a reasonable fee. And what also needs to be considered is we do have people coming though the ranks who could very well be that Pirlo, Xabi type... McEachran and Oscar, perhaps DeBruyne? Think about what we could do from set pieces with Terry, Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Ba and Fellaini all potentially attacking headers at once? that could be very dangerous!

Marouane Fellaini is definitely one of the better midfielders in the world. His power, grit, aerial ability, goal scoring and ball winning is precisely what Chelsea need in the midfield particularly if we're going with the nippy little inventive players. Personally I feel he presents us with so many options tactically that it would be extremely hard for teams to prepare for us. We could go with Mikel and Luiz holding with Hazard, Fellaini and Moses for games where power is most needed for instance. Oscar, Fellaini holding and Hazard, Mata and Moses/Marin when we need more inventiveness.... This is just off the top of my head but Fellaini is much, much more than a DM, what he provides to a team is less about position and more about presence.
