I LOVE Lukaku but he needs to further develop his game in order to play on a team competing for everything. He's not far away and probably could've played a part this year but like Courtois, if he's not ready to be the guy he's better off going to a place where he can play loads.

All the signs are there, the teddy bear as an avatar, the emoticons that kids get when they download some special kids app... and most importantly the fact that you demonstrate very little patience... Eto'o is 32 and playing on a squad where he hasn't had a training camp to acclimate himself with. He hasn't been poor he just isn't scoring, I chalk that up to adjustment not being poor.

As someone mentioned in a previous post, this is the point in the season where you stop looking around and just put your head down and get results. Chelsea have to start capitalizing on the momentum built from winning important fixtures and surviving away games. I have no doubt Jose knows we have to continue to build off of the second half of the Spurs games and will drill into the squads head the importance of continuity. While it would make most sense to roll with the same lineup as Tuesday(lots of time in between fixtures) I do have a couple moves I'd like to see. ----------------- Cech ---- Ivanovic - Luiz - Terry - Bertrand ---------- Ramires - Essien - Mata -------- Oscar -------- Schurrle ---------------- Eto'o Really feel like Ryan needs to get a few games under his belt, Ash's pace is simply not there and could and has left us exposed. Call me crazy but I really believe our best DM pairing is Essien and Ramires.... I don't know why since I haven't seen them play together but their strengths lie in winning the ball and playing solidly in defense. I'd like to see them get a look together. As for our striker situation, many people here seem so hellbent on deciding the fate of a player who is still adjusting to a new team, one where he hasn't had a training camp. Relax people Eto'o will be fine! He still has that brilliant close control that currently none of our strikers possess, he can still pick a pass better than any of our strikers and his movement is also top notch. He will score and once he does he'll continue to do so... And relax Torres will also get goals as well, his position and playing time isn't under any real threat. Support the badge not the names on the back people.... I'm calling for a professional 3-0 win.

I really think you kiddies will soon learn that its not about what Romelu is doing for other teams... He wouldn't be given the space to exploit had he stayed with Chelsea, have you seen how teams are defending us?
-
I know you're young so I'm not gonna blaze you but Eto'o is not terrible... He just not finishing as yet. His touch, technique, movement, passing ability and intelligence is very, veery good...
-
Yes as a defender he snuffed out the danger before it became problematic. David Luiz was very, very good... But ya to each his own.
-
10 effective clearances, 6 interceptions... 9 for 13 in accurate long balls... David Luiz was exceptional... 8/10

Don't believe a word of what this guy says... Do you guys think 6 wins and a draw from 7 games is a disappointing start? I don't... Ya they lost to Schalke but its far from poor. They have to big hulking CB's who are 6'4 and 6'5 in stature. They have a loaner from Sampdoria, Federico Piovaccari who has 7 goals in 12 games. They play extremely well in front of their home support. It won't be an easy game...

This game is bigger than the Spurs game! Need to get all 3pts without question. Forget the names on the backs of the jerseys, the guys who are playing the best right now have to play. For me thats: --------------------------- CECH --- IVANOVIC ----- LUIZ ------ TERRY -------- COLE --------------- MIKEL ---------- RAMIRES --MATA -------------- OSCAR ------------- SCHURRLE ------------------------ TORRES I start Schurrle for Hazard because he's been abysmal this year. I'm starting to think we need to give him a look in at the 10 so he can have the ball at his feet more. Jose said it and I agree 100% Hazard's main struggle is he's receiving the ball with his back to goal and teams aren't allowing him to turn, if he does there are 2-3 defenders aggressively trying to win it back. I thought our back 4 played extremely well yesterday so I wouldn't change that now. Brana didn't have the best game but he's been our most consistent defender all year. Torres up top for me, he's earned it with his play recently. He also won't be eligible to start at the weekend so its an opportunity for him to maintain continuity. I don't care what happens in the match or how it gets done we just have to win this game. Simple.
-
He seems to always have an influence in big matches though. Always is the case
-
You are so wrong but its okay. I love Mata he has a place in my squad for sure.... Ramires changed the game for me
-
A lot of people commenting on Mata's introduction as the turning point. I agree he was good but the turning point was returning Ramires to a position where he can influence the game. He was fantastic in the pivot winning balls and making important tackles high up the pitch. I though Mata was good not brilliant, he def needs to start games for us though. Torres also had a good game and is a lock to start the CL game. He's playing with real passion and desire. Terry and Luiz were rock solid, Ivanovic not so much, Cole getting back to himself... I think we need to organize a search party for Hazard.
-
Just so we're clear his conversion rate last year was a paltry 9.1% he tends to shoot a lot with little end product. He hasn't shown me much more than speed so far this year.
-
You need to get Sandro's shaft out of your mouth he's not nearly as good as you'd like to believe he is.
-
Based on what? You guys need to calm down there are a shit ton of games left, no conclusions can be drawn at this point. And I sincerely doubt Jose Mourinho has drawn conclusions 5 games into the season... LOL
-
The games weren't coming as fast as they are now and we have injuries.
-
The only time they've played anyone who pose a threat is also Arsenal
-
Even with Steaua on Tuesday? Remember Essien isn't eligible for that fixture and if we lose another midfielder that leaves us extremely exposed.
-
I'd start him regardless if Ramires can't go. We need power and positioning in the midfield and Lamps doesn't offer that at all. If we're chasing the game bring in Lamps but my feeling is we're gonna try and beat them on the counter and in order to do that we need to win the ball. Lamps doesn't win enough balls for me to start him in this fixture, plus we got Steaua on Tuesday that's more a Lampard game
-
You guys are all the rage about the flavour of the month guys... lol Mikel is MILES ahead of Capoue AND Sandro. What people fail to understand is if you diving in trying to win tackles it means you've made a mistake or been caught out. Mikel's positioning is sound he often has quiet yet highly effective games. Everyone wants headlines nobody wants shape and composure
-
I like your thinking but I don't see enough steel in that side. Essien and Mikel with our three magicians (Oscar, Hazard, Mata) Bring on Schurrle for Essien if we're chasing the game and play with Mikel and the sole holder.
-
I don't think Tottenham have the ability to sit deep and soak up pressure. They are definitely more adept at attacking and having possession. We have already demonstrated that we can play both styles and for this reason I say we can and will win on Saturday.
-
I like everything said here expect Mikel-Lamps. That midfield will be dominated... We need to play Essien with Mikel if we're without Ramires the key will be winning the ball back and getting it to our attacking players. Lamps doesn't have the defensive acumen to play in this sort of game its gonna be a REAL battle in the midfield
-
Am I the only one that thinks an open game favours Chelsea? If the Spurs come out and try to attack we WILL murder them on the counter. The reason we haven't seen that this season is mainly because teams sit so deep against us. Arsenal were able to catch them on the counter and I believe the same will transpire here.
-
Lets hope! Its been a while since we've seen that!
