You do realise that if we would play possesion football or attacking football with players that can keep the ball, there is no need for some realy strong defence. Our back four are fantastic, possibly best defence in the world (looking we kept Munchen and Barca almost scoreless). Munchen, Barca play offensive football and there is not necesarry to have extra strong defence. Or you play ofensive or defensive. You cant do both. And after all there is also Mikel. Its time to start thinking that 5 players who can defend excelent are enough if we want to play nice ofensive football. When comes to harder opponents, Lampard plays aswell along Mikel and also Rambo. Both are good defensively too. When comes to easier matches (about half of pl games, some group stage CL games, Carling, Fa cup games, club world cup games -i guess they are not that difficult) we should play with Oscar (kid will need at least 30 games this season; including sub apperances if he wants to evolve), Marin, kdb,... One CDM is enough, with attacking style football we must have enough attacking-gifted players.

In the end, we will play Ramires-Mikel Hazard-Oscar-Mata Torres In case we play bad, there comes winter and we buy Hulk then. The point is that Rambo was one of best players and we cant just bench him. As much Hulk would be welcomed here, that would also mean bench for Oscar or Rambo. The good point is that Oscar can play on his position, but question is how will Mata and Hazard react to that...

Yes but Oscar is creator, not CDM. Several teams use only one CDM, besides Modric role was something similar. He always goes more forward and creating chances, than backwards and try to defend.

I wouldnt be so certain Hulk deal is dead. Or there something already happened and we dont know, or Chelsea just waiting for Porto to decrease their asking price. Using Schurle and Moses alternatives as part of telling Porto they better decrease the price.

As that brasileirao said, Oscar would fit best at CAM. Partly I agree with him, he plays there all time and could evolve to Ozil level or even higher, if we put him in double pivot, his evolution/progress might be damaged. From videos, yes he might play deeper than Mata or Hazard, but not in same line as Mikel. More like this: -----Mikel------------ ---------Oscar------- Hulk?-Mata-Hazard --------Torres------- That would do, Oscar would have free role in middle, he is also known for his hard work to get ball back and contribute in defensive actions, but we shouldnt force him to play more defensive. Specialy I think first two seasons, he should work on position that suits him most and then, once he gets used to play in PL and evolves further, we might try him to play bit more defensive. Like Lamps who played as attacking mid, but later got some defensive abilities aswell. Definately Oscar shouldnt play CDM, but some free role between Mikel and Mata.

Whenever I watched Hulk against pl teams (even in the past years), he was best at porto. Against us, Arsenal or United in CL. Last summer against Barca, he was fantastic too. I still remember how he beated Alves with that dribbling. He might get bit lost on big games, BUT where did DiMaria played before joining RM? And he wasnt better than Hulk. Give Hulk sometime at big stage in big club. Once he adopts that, the effect will be like with DiMaria. Im sure he still can improve, playing on top level at Porto or playing on top level at Chelsea is different level. If Hulk can play with success at Chelsea, he could be one of best RW too.

Yes, but DiSanto or Breno never played part in their national teams. To be in brasil team, you simply have to be good. Media famed Lucas and Neymar so much, but looking at Oscar in friendlies, he was better than anyone of those two. I guess a bit underrated. That is why no one realy knew him before. It is risk, but the reward is even higher in the end. And why do you need to trust him more than just potential? Because not every 20years old player becomes playmaker in brasilian squad and plays so well against adult teams of Argentina with Messi or Denmark.

If Torres came for 50, I go for Hulk for 45. At least he is younger, in form, and better than all our alternatives like moses or schurle. I agree with alternatives, but only if they are still class, but cheaper like DiMaria or something. Moses and Schurle are not alternatives, its something like you look for Ferrari, but get Peugeot in the end. Alternative to Ferrari would be Aston Martin or something who is half cheaper than Ferrari, but still huge class.

What you mentioned is something we already have in Mata. What we are missing is pure power and speed, physical presence. Hulk will be our b plan in case we couldnt pass the ball to Torres. And Im sure RM wont sell their first choice winger, unless they can get Silva.

Hulk has more abilities than Moses and Schurle together. Speed, stamina, dribbling. What I meant is that if he is given role of winger he will try to dribble, cross or ocasionaly shoot. If he is given more attacking role, he will try to score more and play more centraly. With Schurle or Moses, first is not looking as winger at all, but more like Sturridge who should never be winger. Schurle might have winger position, but he plays lilke striker. Give me that ball and will shot. While Hulk always picks best option. Dribbling, cross or direct shot. Moses is somewhere similar to Hulk, but his finishing is far from similar to Hulk and crossing is even worse. Just cant compare Hulk with Moses or Schurle. Yes they are all half winger half strikers, but difference is that Hulk plays one or the other at same time. He passes better, dribbles better etc. He has all atributes to be great winger or striker, while Schurle never looked like winger. Moses is more supporting striker than winger. His assist statistics are not good, his shooting is not excelent, he might create goal scoring chances, but we have that in Mata and Hazard. What we need is wing crosser and Hulk is fantastic at doing that. But also at creating chances, dribbling and shooting. I didnt know James has 40mio clause, too bad, that is similar to Hulk unfortunely...

I agree on that, but in case Torres wont score, Mata, Hazard or Marin or DiMaria are not exactly specialised shooters or strikers. I see big bonus there in Hulk. He proved that he can be great passer in that season with Falcao and great scorer too. In case Torres fails, it would be great to have someone in attack who can score fom impossible positions and tries to score goal with his own power, not depending on support (while Torres simply needs that support). Imagine opponent cuts Mata, Hazard,.. from Torres. Who will score then? Dimaria will try to get penalty with diving, while Hulk will actualy try push the defence with some force and shoot from distance. Looking at how great long shot taker he is, that would be big plus to our team. As I said, he would be perfect addition to this creative, technicaly gifted squad we have, yes very expensive, but best option on right wing.

Its not your money and once you will see Moses or whoever made no impact for our team in the end of the season, you will wish we signed the incredible green beast (Hulk).

No thanks, I watch Madrid and yes, he is fantastic crosser (before injury he made 13 assists in less than 10 games, while closest follower was Messi with 7). But after injury, he didnt play much and wasnt the same player. Little impact on game and what I hated his diving every second. Instead of dribbling, he just fall on ground all time. Plus he would cost 25mio atleast and he is not physicaly strong to expand our attacking options.

I am quite sure about that, they already have James Rodriguez, Moutinho and Danilo along Hulk. Im sure we will be interested in all them. Btw, if Hulk will turn too expensive, what about James Rodriguez? He is not the fastest or strongest player but has brilliant wing play. Much better than halfstrikerhalfwinger Schurle or Moses. Still, no one is better than Hulk, I have feeling he realy wants to play for us and would suit our style great, but if we went after Rodriguez in the end, he might be very dissapointed.

Yes. His price, Levy and clubs from other leagues gave us no choice to sign him. I am actualy happy we wont get him, but Oscar instead. Half cheaper and could be our very own star-in-making.

Then better we do the deal before Spurs get Moutinho. Because I guess then if Hulk leaves, Moutinho will stay Sadly he is only RW that is available of such class and also only one that will bring us different options; pace, explosive play, dribbling, crossing, individual actions, free-kick mastering, long shooting, strong physical presence,...I would pay for him up to 40mio, ahead of 10mio Moses, 16mio Schurrle or whoever else. Only Hulk can create imediate impact and different dimensional football. If Porto wants that money, so what, its not yours. Much better then getting Schurrle who will play only bit-part. I cant even imagine him play bigger role here. How? What atributes he has that we would be better then? Reus is 3 classes higher that Schurle and cost 25mio euro, I would never pay more than 10 for Schurrle and I like german players overall, but Hulk or Schurle is something that you cant compare.

As I know, when we bought Ramires from Benfica, 3rd-party owner had some shares of Ramires too and we managed to complete the deal. Usualy it is previous owner (Porto) who pays the money to these companies. But they want all 38mio, I guess that is why they wanted 45. Because 7mio of those 45 would go for the 3rd company. What will a team like Porto do with all that money anyway...

I see nothing about this guy realy special. Average prospect, didnt show anything at euro and probably selfish. Not realy a winger and I think he will be good only in Germany. I hope we dont get him, realy worst option of all we have been linked...

I know its very optimistic but why do I have the feeling that the only reason Hulk and Oscar are not official signings yet is because there will be olympic games here in London and they will sign deal right after them. The games are most important for Oscar and even more for Hulk, with good performance, he would get standard place and more chances to play in WC 2014, Oscar too. Sure they dont want to get distracted by press if it would be already official deal. Its enough for them just to know they will play here, it doesnt matter if it is offical or not. All these rumours just couldnt be wrong, Hulk said he wants to play for us (remember that Twitter flirt with Chelsea), it was almost done deal and then nothing. Just some speculation that fee was not accepted...And since Hulk is number one priority, it would be perfect to announce him and Oscar together after olympics. After all, they wouldnt play in preseason anyway, since olympic games are in same time.
