I guess Roman and Rdm wanted Modric and Hulk. I dont think money was problem, but Modric wanted to go to RM and Spurs didnt want to sell to us. So we dediced to go after Oscar. That wont matter if we get Hulk or not. As long Porto will sell him to us, we will accept anything below 50mio I guess. Good buying, we would probably get Oscar for 16-18mio, but we had to offer more than Spurs and it came to 25, which is fair comparing to 40mio for Modric. Again, I dont see why would this transfer end us buying Hulk aswell.

Fuck this, I want Hulk and Oscar at Chelsea this summer. They realy played nice together against Denmark, I can easily imagine them together here. Its so depressing that we cant do shit about, just wait and hope...
-
Yeah, as long we get Hulk in the end, I dont realy care...
-
I have feeling if we wont finalise deal with Oscar in this week, deal will fall apart...If its serious we will do it soon, if its just some bs rumour, we wont. It is pointless to wait for weeks to completr this deal. And once we complete the deal, I agree we should snap Hulk as soon as possible. But during olympics will be still soon enough. Before first PL match, we should complete our signings for this summer.
-
Completely agree with you, Hulks price just wont be any higher except he will totaly explode there. But on other side, with only decent Hulk performance, Porto will have another excuse for their high price for him.
-
I never put Ramires in my lineup, but why we wouldnt play with him on the wing actualy? In case we might lose Hulk, Ramires is very good winger I think. Yes, his passing is not best, but he would be very usefull if we miss on Hulk. A nice addition of his power and pace to technicaly gifted Mata, Marin and Oscar.
-
At price of 40mio, I doubt anyone would pay 50. Unless he will be REALY fantastic. Leader of brasil, goalscorer, free-kick scorer etc. And usualy price goes up on euros or WCs, not olympics. For football, olympics are like europa league comparin to World cup.

If Oscar comes, please we wont sign another midfielder of any kind. It will be death to all our youngesters including likes of Oscar,... We dont need Moutinho, Lampard is doing just fine and when he will not be on top level anymore, I hope among our youngsters, there will be at least one who will take his job in full responsibility and replace him good enough. Either Mata, Kdb, Oscar, Josh or Hazard. Cech Iva-Luiz-Terry-Cole Mikel-Lampard Ramires-Mata-Hazard Torres Oscar, Cahill, Bertrand, Ferreira, Malouda, Meireles, Marin, Danny, Kdb, Josh, Hutch, Turnbull, Essien, Romeu, Kakuta Probably, we will add at least another winger; Moses, Hulk,... and RB. Get rid of Malouda, Essien, Meireles and Ferreira and we get team of 24 players. Looks just right amount for me.
-
So far Hazard is talent. Oscar is talent. Marin is talent. Kdb is talent. Lukaku is talent. Torres is out of form striker. And I dont think Moses, another talent will give us anything more chances to compete for PL trophy. Someone who is a bit older is necessary. After all this problems with young players, we will now depend only on them? I know what you mean, but we should have some backup plan, we cant only depend on technical play, but there should be one player that can go past few defenders on his own, using his speed, strenght. And that player is Hulk. With Oscar and Hulk I wont complain a bit. Even that will cost us so much money...
-
We have some problems to solve. I guess Oscar (and yet we havent sign him) was third thing we needed; creative CM. We still need someone who can start imediatey with option to become better. Hulk. And we will also need RB since there is only Ivan and Ferreira...unless Hutch will play regular sub.

Comparisson to barca is way to difficult... Their power and dominance comes from several years of training and playing together. They all pass great and that is their power. And yet on ocasions, they look terrible in defence (against Milan or Osasuna are good examples). Our team (Hazard, Marin, Mata, Oscar) never played together before, not club or national level. They dont pass with such excelence, or keep possesion, also we dont play in Spain where you have only 3 realy difficult teams and style allows you lot of possesion and playing in attack (since all teams are very offensive). Here in england, teams play defensive when other team is having lot of possesion. And even barca is not good in such situations. The best against defensive teams is pure power we had in Drogba, Anelka and Malouda, now we only have technicaly gifted smaller players, not including defence. One bigger player I think is almost a need, no mather what style we will play. And what is most important to develop attacking football is TIME. With so many new players, we will surely need time for them to find chemistry or whatever is that mind team-working connection called.
-
With all this technical problems, we will probably play much more offensive, but we all saw how terrible defence we had under Avb who tried attacking style. And our defence remains the same. We havent bought CDM either...
-
talksport...says Oscar denied links with Chelsea, while several sites like foxnews, Espn, bloomberg,...report we signed him or will sign him soon.
-
I just dont think Ganso would join another brasil club. It has no point...
-
So if we buy Oscar and another winger, either Hulk or Moses, we still heavy require RB backup. Ivanovic will need rest, got injured and booked, who will replace him? And that could be important games too. Ferreira should be only some third choice, for realy unimportant games, Rambo could play there, but that might be game or two, not whole season replacement. Hutch is RB, but as some of you said, he will never be regular player. I guess if Rdm will find him good enough, we wont buy new RB. But if not, then we will slowly be unable to buy anymore players...After Hazard (35mio), Marin (7mio), Oscar (possibly 20mio), Moses-Hulk (10-39mio) that means more than 100mio at max and even that is huge, not to mention that RB would cost us additional 15mio.
-
I watched some stuff on ytube, good prospect, but I noticed he was heavily tired after Argentina game in 60 minute. Tempo in PL is even higher and I doubt he would be our starter. Certainly joker from bench and Lamps replacement, but if he turns great, we will play him lot and he will be even more tired than Mata in last season at the end.

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/7885309/Chelsea-bid-for-Oscar Nothing agreed yet, but at least we are actualy interested in him. 25mio is lot of money for Internacional and they will accept if Oscar will want to join us. He said he will stay but that was some time ago. If Modric is of to RM, its fair alternate transfer, but I still hope of Hulk or some good winger to come. Moses is more second forward than winger and doesnt cross at all. But after Oscar for 25, I doubt we will go for Hulk too...
-
Number 11, 13 or 25+ for Oscar then... I wonder which number he will get. 13 could be bit unliked by players (Ballack had it, but sadly won nothing realy). 11 could be kept, then only 25 remains or even higher numbers. I gues if both Oscar and Moses arrive, one will certainly get 11.
-
What Modric does so fantastic is his passing. It reminds on Ozil, Xavi,... Oscar has a lot do here and individual skill like dribbling is not what we realy need. He is not winger and his passing is not as precise to play in deep playmaker role, one mistake in his dribbling and we will face counter attack. Plus team mates will be angry. Dont forget we are in england, not spain and both CMs should be strong and have good defensive abilities. I dont say he isnt good prospect, but he is just not what we need. He is not typical winger nor CM. And having Moses and Oscar in same team will mean we will have unsucessfull season with no major trophies, but next year, we could play for PL throne (like City). I am excited about anyone we sign, but after Marin and Hazard, I would prefer someone physicaly stronger i.e. Martinez (even he would cost 25mio). And someone who is actualy bit older, but can still progress (Hulk). After all the rumour about Hulk(35mio) its still major downfall we are paying 10mio less for a player who played only in brasil league and hasnt realy proved he is worth 25! mio. He is not on Mata level afterall. But again, good prospect overall, just not fitting our team what we realy need.
-
25mio is far too much. Dont forget he had one decent year in brazil league. I think for 25mio, there are other players better. I take for 16 most, not 25.
-
My point was for you to understand and except others opinions, not just jumping at everyone, but I wont argue with you, it has no point... As they say; 'Arguing on internet is like running on Special Olympics, even if you win, you are still retarded' Chillax now...

What are you? Some spurs fan in disguise? Only they are so idiotic... Look no one is bigger than club, not us and specialy not you. What you think you will achieve here by saying you are biggest Cfc fan? Everyone is just laughing at your comments.. As I said, just because your daddy gets you season tickets, while some people here live in australia or wherever else and they cant watch matches every weekend, it doesnt makes you any bigger fan. Its what you keep in heart and feel when Chelsea wins or loses, not just going to matches and pretending to be cool. Since your comments are not possible to be written by adult, I suggest you to grow up. ...off-topic ends here...

Is he good in defensive actions (intercepting, tackling, marking)? At least comparable to Modric?
-
Exactly. First we need to get rid of some players and replace them with more "classy". It has no point in buying Martinez if we will still keep Ess and Meireles.
-
Is there smallest chance for us to get Hulk AND Modric/Witsel/Martinez if we sell Essien, Meireles, Malouda? I have feeling that in the end, all biggest transfers will cost us too much, we will miss class cheaper players and overpay for some medium 28yrs old player on deadline day... We are looking after Modric (probably wont be available for us), Moses, Hulk (Porto wants more), Schurrle (already refused) and thats it. We are not seriously interested in any other midfielder or winger...I think we should look after alternatives, because it wont happen what board is waiting for; miracle that Porto will accept smaller fee and Spurs will sell their best player to rival...
