Well Im all for what you said. Im even in doubt to sign someone like James because he doesnt fit the system. I dont want to just throw cash out at world class players just to have them. But dont you see the point? Alonso for 25m? That is throwing cash out. Rather throw 50m for Koulibaly and be done with than brozovic and Alonso etc who will in the end cost 50m. They might even perform well, but they wont make a difference. We need quality players now, not quantity. I know we were in for Modric and that was whole different situation than this, but my point was to spend bit more to get player of that quality instead of geting b blan Meireles or in this case Brozovic. Besides how do you know Conte wants Brozovic or Alonso? He wants mid and defender. Maybe we will get Brozovic simply because we failed with main Conte target, but he still needs numbers. IMO the board was poor once again, failing to get players on time. If we pull it off in last two days, all hail, but if not, my point stands. Brozovic and Alonso will make plan B signings if everything else fails. As for Brozovic, Inter bought Joao Mario, reports that they have accepted the bid for Marcelo. Him joining us seems quite likely.

After Madrid signed Modric they got two CLs with Luka playing big part in both runs. He is one of best midfielders, consistent and reliable. While Modric is pulling strings for Madrid today, we have bought about 10 CMs since hoping to fill void of Meireles who didnt reach expectations. Meanwhile Meireles left us few years ago and we finished 6th that season, we dont have Modric type midfielder for ages, despite we need one desperately. What Im saying is we should have gone for Modric whatever the money they wanted and we would have world class CM for several years instead of stop gap. What initialy was bad idea, Meireles turned up decent, no bad feelings but come on. Just because Eder helped Portugal win euros, doesnt mean he is top striker. Honestly, Im done with club buying cheap players who are actualy expensive and offer nothing, but wasting money and whats more important time. If we get good CM this summer, we wont need to get one next summer. If we get average one, we lose time, money and next summer, we have to deal with loaning the CM out and buying a good one instead. No he wanted Nainggolan but board is too cheap to throw that money out. And for Koulibaly too. Fucking finaly. I been thinking about it for ages. The only way to win the game is to play football, not to defend. If you start defending, you can only hope luck is on your side. When Juve was playing Bayern, that was clear as day. They attacked and got lead 2:0. When they parked the bus, they conceded 4 goals. Same with us against PSG for past two years, yet people were saying tactics were good. If you play top opponent, you need to take ball away from them if you can. Why the hell would you let them pass and attack for whole game and give them 100 chances. If possible, always take the ball away from them and attack them. Teams who are great in possesion struggle when pressed and play great when in possesion. Their defences get all confused if you press because they are not used to that. And yet teams always park buses and let them play their way. No shit you concede at one point because we dont have such great defense anyway. There is a reason why teams like Barca dominate for years while Chelsea, Inter, Portugal happens very rarely. Im glad Conte knows that defending for 90min is lottery. There must be happy medium. Normaly you need to defend, but for past three years our key CL games were disaster. No attacking desire whatsoever.

Dont think Conte will play #10, besides we have moved to three man midfield, which is alot better as it adds more pressing to our game. I think James is good player, but he simply doesnt fit exactly to our team and thats why we should spend the money on CB, FB and another b2b to balance out the team. Tibo FB - Zouma - CB - Azpi b2b - Konte - Cesc Willian - Costa - Eden We need to create a team, not bring individuals who will save our asses every game like Eden or James. Sure James would be fantastic to pair up with Eden, but if at one point, we can aquire players like Fabinho, Nainggolan and Koulibaly, I would take them anyday over stars like James.

Why are we even linked with all these young CBs? We have Zouma and Christensen next year, that should be enough. We dont need 3rd u23 CB. Koulibaly is 25, which is the app. age we should be targeting.

Where would he fit? All I know is if we get James, our defence with current mids and defenders will look even weaker. And we can say goodbye to playing with two strikers, because I doubt Eden or James would sit on bench.

I agree. He is not horrible, but not great either. But he is fullback and as long he has advantages, thats fine. However what bothers me is his pace. For PL, he is nowhere near fast enough. Azpi is not fast either, but very good defender. Take that out and every speedy winger would get past him. All that put together, he is still miles better than Iva, but even then wouldnt offer aerial threat. If we actualy have that much money, and considering we desperately need fullback, just go for Fabinho. French league players always worked for us and he is all you need. Quick, skilled, quite strong, can even play CM and whenever I saw him, he was one of the most visible players on pitch, trying to do things. He however holds on the ball little too much. I would rather make 30m bid for him than RR.

Well I think its not fair to play because of history. If lets say Leicester finishes 4th and us 10th and then we go in CL because of numbers from past, while Leicester would play well all year, then I just cant agree with that. I know we would have Chelsea almost guaranteed in CL every year, but it ruins the fun. If you have shit season, consequences must follow. If you have good one, get the reward. The promotion to CL must be earned, not given.

Trust me in few years of watching same clubs every year, people would get bored. First time barca was champion everyone was happy, then few years later of their dominance and everyone got tired of their game, bar their fans. This super league would be same thing but on bigger scale. And I get your point people like to watch chelsea real more than chelsea legia, but from uefa perspective, they dont care about that IMO. Its all about money. Bigger audience on tv, bigger stadium, more talk, more clicks, promotion=more money. It would divide elite from rest even further and I doubt thats good idea for football in general. If you are good you will play, if not you wont. We for example played absolutely rubbish and hence we are not in CL. If we got there at expense of lets say porto or monaco, just because we are bigger, I think only we would be happy with it. Not to mention that without CL, the club will improve our team so that we get there next year. If we had guaranteed place, team could stay the same, as long the money goes through.

The new format of the ''top'' teams always play is rubbish. I mean I know people like to watch Real-Chelsea more than Real- Legia, but the only magic that is still present in football is when smaller clubs surprise. If big clubs had guarantee to play CL every year, while smaller would have 1% chance, it would ruin fun for everyone. Just more dominance from same clubs and less competition. But I guess sooner or later UEFA will go with it, because it will bring them more money. Chelsea in CL brings more money than Legia and thats the only reason greedy cunts want this super league.
