Hopefuly we go in this match with all determination. If we hide and let them play, they will do us like Pool and Arsenal.

He is a funny one. Stats were always on his side, but he never was that great player. Rooney and Ronaldo might had less goals, but were established top players. Lukaku for now seems to be big fish in small pound. Same for Belgium, decent number of goals, but he never looks as the guy to rely on.

Hazard Costa and Griezmann would work great in attack, but when we chase the ball Eden and Griz dont realy do the job. Even though Di Maria flopped at united, he is brilliant runner with stamina of Vidal who can run 90 min and chase opponents. Neither Griz or Eden can do that. Maybe if we had two Kantes in middle, but who will provide the balls to our attack? We definately need a creative CM in that 3:4:3, because Eden cant go deep all the time.

The game is changing obviously and all these CBs who are versatile, makes them better players, but not neccessary better defenders. A CB should still first and foremost be good tackler and tactician to position well. Passing, shooting comes second. And IMO those you mentioned Ramos and Hummels are the same example I was making. Very good CBs, but still questionable in defending. However media sees them as world class because they can pass and score. I find it funny. Hummels is incredibly slow and Ramos has to be one of more overrated defenders because his every second challenge results in faul. His timing is way off and his agression is too high. Litteraly the same thing with Luiz, but he is getting stick for a while now. Is he such great CB to be worth 40m? Never. But he is good allround player who happens to be a defender. Football loves this generation of versatile players, but I still think a CB should be first and foremost good defender. A prime Vidic would always find a place in my team, while I doubt I would place someone like Hummels or Ramos even if they were rated higher because of their versatility. Its all great when CB can defend brilliantly and on top of that, passes well too. But when media talks of someone like Ramos as world class defender because he scores alot and makes top passes, but has number of flaws in defending, thats beyond me. Luiz for example is good footballer for a defender, but average defender for footballer on this level. Only world class CBs out there today are Boateng, Godin, Barzagli and Chiellini. Maybe Silva and Bonucci. Then come the likes of Hummels, Ramos, Pique, etc who replace the defensive flaws with brilliant footwork. Perhaps Kante needs to work on his shooting if he is to be our b2b, but as long he makes good tackles and supplies forwards, there is nothing else I would demand from him to consider him top midfielder.

At barca he had fantastic generation. Many players were brought earlier before him by Rijkard. Two players that Pep truly had were Bojan and Thiago. One floped, other was benched for Cesc by Pep himself. Bartra and others never worked out. Wonder why? If Pep was that great he would make them work. That barca team wasnt just Pep thing. They were exceptional players, majority discovered by Rijkard. And further developed by Pep. Enrique has done brilliantly there too, because like Pep he has amazing team. Bayern? To start, Bayern has philosophy of having german core and playing direct football. Pep did the opposite. Considering Bayern is institution and Pep is just a man, sooner or later they will go back to their german philosophy. However Pep brought dozen players that dont fit that and got rid of few like Kroos and almost Muller. Thats not what I see as process for the future. It will take bayern some time to go back. Perhaps he made them play better to the eye (I dont realy fancy his style of endless passing tho), but got no results. Three buli in a row were kinda expected, considering they bought from their only rival two of best players haha. He had Bayern. In three years there is no excuse not to reach final at least once. We are talking about Bayern who was on par with Barca and Real. Even Atletico managed to reach cl final twice in three years. He made dozen mistakes in past three CLs. Its all fine to play flowing football, balanced, but what Pep tries is domination and today top teams will expose him because he cant adopt and they can. From our perspective, I guess he would make us more balanced because we arw mess (tho, would you hire him in 2005?) But when he leaves? England has its own philosophy. Thats why Leicester won it last year and Arsenal didnt in 10 years. Because nice football and passing and possesion mean shit when it comes to results. You will get teams who will press you and score 1 goal even if you had 10% possesion whole game. And thats whats all about. Problem with Pep is he cant adopt. He is now in england. He is lucky to have weak Chelsea, United for opponents but even this way he will probably get punished on few ocassions. German league was flat track bully for Pep. English doesnt look much better, but still more competitive. I think it all comes down to perspective. Some will rate Pep for style, some old Mou for efficiency. Happy medium ala Ancelotti is probably the best. Then there was Saf. Once it was Cruyff, there was Mou with his buses, then Pep. It all goes out once...I just think Pep marketing works well enough to cover all the poor results with fancy stats and style.

It works with team without tradition, but bayern? Nah. There were so many critics in germany over his work its unbelievable. Normaly Heynkness bayern wouldnt perform forever, but it had core of what bayern in. Then Pep comes and replaces half of the squad, but most importantly dumps Kroos who should and would (under Heynkess) become their long term captain. And goes buy gazilion of foreign players instead of german ones. Not to mention he almost blocked Muller out of 11 to fit his needs. Basicaly he almost f*cked up the german core of that team to suit himself without thinking how it will work after he leaves. Then there is Gotze who was ultimate flop under Pep. He tried to utilize Lahm in midfield which didnt work and Low almost lost when he did same with Lahm in world cup for germany (then he switched back and they did much better). I think Bayern will suffer the consequences of such work because half of current bayern squad went there for Pep and not to be part of bavarian culture and club (opposite of Heynkess). We can all see how different the players play now under Carlo (who is great coach afterall). Then again Neuer, Ribery etc. still perform well there. What Pep is TRULY different from other coaches is his style. He implements his style to every team. BUT where did this style bring him to? It got outdated in Barca. In bayern it never realy worked. Three semis, the one vs barca was his fault as was one vs atletico. Against real and barca he had few players missing, but partly it could be his fault for his training (since he took bayern, there were countless injuries which was unusal. So his style doesnt bring results either these days. What makes of it then? He doesnt groom clubs youth. He doesnt win titles (lets be fair, bayern got him to get them CL period). He definately hurt Bayern club culture. With city that wont be a problem because they dont have true definition, but even here Hart, Kompany are almost as good as gone. And his style is outdated. The only reason he is still there its because its nice to watch. Now everyone likes to watch good football, but how many trophies did Arsenal win recent 10 years? Pep is great coach nevertheless, if you bring him neutral club, he will install his phylosophy there. To every player and board and fan. But the results against top dogs are all that matter when we talk about best in europe. And Pep fails that. Maybe city will be different, but I somehow doubt it. He will land Real, Barca again, Aguero, Kdb, Silva get often injured and there is big chance they miss the games ( ) and he will lose. Im almost certain of it. He cant adopt to the situation. He cant sit back and defend, play on counter. Bonucci is actualy in similar boat like Pep when comes to media. I hear he is the best italian defender, but thats not true. Best out and out defender is for a while now Barzagli. But Bonucci is a more classy version of a defender, and media just grabs it over and over, throwing out he is the best defender out there. Not true. Still world class CB tho. I respect Pep actualy, I see him perfect for team without real culture, he can develop players and next manager adjusts them and wins titles. But for established teams like bayern, pep is a no-go. Or if you want CL. What I dont like about him is how he sells himself to media and fans. The media makes him like porsche 918 while he is a P1 if you know what I mean.

I mean, he is DM/box to box and his role is to break up play and connect both ends. He does that absolutely brilliantly. Last season he was best PL midfielder. I just wonder why is everything in football being best connected with goals. Strikers obviously. But Kante? Its almost like saying; if only Bonucci could shoot he would be best CB in the world Kante is what he is and he is doing bloody brilliant in that role. His job was never to score goals, I dont think why would that make him best midfielder if he already is "best" at what he does. For midfielders, goals are far too valued today. Pogba got half of the fame for his shooting ability, while there are many things he needs to improve. Obviously finishing would make Kante even more complete, but for me he is player who breaks up attacks and sets them up, not finishes them. As long he does that he will be best in his role, regardless of how many or how little he scores. --- Regarding the game, the performance was amazing. Sometimes everything just gets together. Established players did amazing job, side kicks shown they are good enough to start, youth got their day too, Costa scored, Eden scored, defense was brilliant and kept clean sheet. Almost too perfect, because the very next game could give us the feel we need to replace whole team. Bring on United, we are only 3 points off the top!

They did generaly realy well with Psg and Barca kits. Inter, brazil, france, croatia all looked nice in many versions they made. As long they keep them simple, they make them classy. I loved Umbro kits we had and hopefuly they take inspiration from there. Adidas fitted us well, but it got kinda boring with those three stripes every year on shoulders. You just cant make clean kit with that. I admire Pep, but he is not the best manager people like to point out. He just misses it on very top. I dont like that media, himself and fans like to talk of Pep as manager who brings up clubs youth and improves players, while in reality he buys the talent and quality players like anyone else. His style of how his teams play is what makes him different, but that was not very succesfull for past four years im europe. Like someone said, Pep is better at marketing than coaching. I would like to see him take on smaller or unstable team and what he makes of it.

Why Premier Clubs try to make more and more money each year with Tv rights, sponsor rights etc etc? I understand that with that they make their clubs more balanced and offer them money for things like stadiums etc. And even then, many clubs have gone down after big cash income. Aston Villa or Fulham for example. So the money is certainly not making clubs more stable or at least their people dont know how to run them properly. Same when comes to buying players, nothing has changed. If pl club revenue is 100m, european club will demand 20m for the player, if pl club revenue is 200m, europeans will demand 40m and so on. It all results in paying big money for average players. Instead of throwing more and more money at clubs each year, england should show english clubs how to spend that money and how to run youth teams... PL is becoming bigger circus every year, traditional clubs like West ham who produced some quality english players are now buying players because its easier. Tottenham are today perhaps only bigger club in england who works on english players and I have respect for that, despite I dislike spuds alot. Sad for english football.

Rvn was a great striker but today I would take versatile striker over poacher anyday of the week. Much like you need ballplaying CBs today, same is with strikers. Unless you want to play sunday league football every game. All top teams Real, Barca, bayern, city, psg, etc have ballplaying strikers instead of poachers.
