We know Bertrand can own the LM spot in our 4231, but the 433 we played against Newcastle looked a much sexier, more flowing style of play. I wonder if Bertrand can produce on the left in that more compact middle 3...

I guess the money justifies it all. From a footballing perspective...they are in the CL, so it's not like they are joining a graveyard league.

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VC7IonfqU1w #bringballackback It's not on the same level as Scholes retiring from ManU and then still coming back 6 months later. He's still an active player...it might look desperate to some of us, but why not?

Welcome! p.s. your english is fine

Trust me brother, I watched every minute of Brazil's olympic campaign and the 4-3 thriller against Argentina. I was one of the first to jump on the Oscar bandwagon... who couldn't love a kid with his amount class and skill? But enough of me qualifying my faith in him, I was just trying to explain that RDM will probably like to ease Oscar into the team instead of throwing him into the first XI instantly.
-
As much as I dislike these formation predictions, I've always liked to see an inverted 4-3-3 where instead of one holding mid and two wider players, you have two central mids and an attacking mid behind a normal trio of two wingers and a #9.
-
Yes definitely, a start for Oscar will be far more telling than the same amount of minutes accumulated in sub appearances. As for Sturridge, he's shown that he's got the hunger in him, I can't stand to see him sit on the bench as much as he has. It's early, but why should squad rotation have to wait? I think rotation needs to happen now because the Atletico game, as much as people have written off it's validity, showed us how dangerous it can be when players are feeling too safe in their starting roles
-
I think as fans, we'd all like to see Oscar have a blinder. He's shown glimpses of magic (the cameo at Wigan comes to mind), but -- realistically -- nothing to justify a starting position. As for Azpi and Moses, I think it's sink or swim -- start them and judge their performances accordingly. Put them in and it will create competition for starting spots which is something RDM has successfully skirted since coming in. But Ivan at RB and Rami on RW have nothing to justify their starting XI places with their recent performances, respectively.

What kind of personality type are you?

http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp Free one, without account. It's all essentially the same testing process, called either the Myers-Briggs or Jungian personality type. I remember getting an ISTJ first but then an INTJ another time, depends on most peoples mood to be honest. -
Southampton do exceptionally well in the first 60 minutes, they were leading and controlling up to that point in both games against city and united. Somehow, they are exceptionally terrible in the last 30 minutes, and lost both games in exactly the same manner. Just learn how to park the fucking bus already lol
-
Definitely. I watched the 0-0 draw with Man City and he was a clear creative force as soon as he came on. Even pulled off a sexy backheel
-
Anyone else thoroughly impressed with West Brom's start to the season? They slapped Liverpool, genuinely outplayed Spurs in a draw, and comfortably beat an in-from Everton side.
-
Its because the club owners have refused to give their main investor a majority share. Read this the other day As cool as the move to China was as far as expanding football and making bank for his foundation, I'd love to see him return to his beloved Marseille. MLS is a career graveyard for players who are in the same position, the move to China was barely a step above that. Who wouldn't love to see Drogba still competing ? Edit: Even if it turns out to just be a rumor right now, that club is on the verge of a financial meltdown because the investor is inches from pulling out. Matter of time at this point.

As much of a dick as Eric Wynalda is, he is always spot on with the AVB bashing.
-
They do have one of the coolest team crests available on Fifa But why loan Thorgan out if we brought him in to settle in with Eden. Maybe the scouts see more in him than we assumed
-
Yids booing their team off at home for the second weekend in a row.
-
Get in Snodgrass! Great reactions on the finish. AVB has managed to fervently cock it up again
-
Michu with his 4th goal in 3 games. What a beast at 2m! Fletcher with a brace too, this is a good match

What kinda fucked me off a bit was the lack of a defensive contingency plan. Why play a slow defensive back four (one that is very effective in PL play) against a team that is absolutely one-dimensional. Atletico has two nasty wingers that can outrun any full back and a world class striker between them. They scored or at least got the ball past cech on every 3 v 3 counter. How did that not occur to the coaching staff?
-
I don't know how much of the blame can be put on Robbie. With essentially the 4231, our back five have been completely static and our front three are completely dependent on one or two players having excellent games. If they all have shit games, like what happened today, the system completely falls apart and no amount of tactical genius can rectify that. I'm mainly just pissed at how falcao whipped us with his dick, not really the tactical shortcoming of our coach... who by the way pioneered one of the greatest cup runs in club history.
-
Just speaking from a footballing perspective, I don't think there is an active striker that has the comparable movement and ball control. He can be running full speed and sell a defender on a dime all while slotting it into the top corner. He is nasty
-
Exactly, I was out and about most of the day today but I caught the first half. Falcao completely ripped DL and Cahill a new arse with his movement on and off the ball. The back 5 had no marking on the counter and no organization against build-up play. Sure, you can blame RDM for the tactical mistake of completely misjudging Atletico's play style, but I think there is much more to be said about how static our back line has looked. I don't know the solution, but it seems like a problem. That being said, I think this will be one of the few occasional nights when most of players coincidentally all have a bad run of form. We got slapped and had little to answer with. It's gonna happen. Time to move on and sober up for the beginning of the CL. Reality check couldn't really have come at a better time. We have a couple of weeks to regroup and get real
