But once Rafael sidestepped him, Luiz is out of the equation and that has happened far too often. yeah. Azpi was great and the back four in general was solid for most of the game but even when having a good game, i feel Luiz is a ticking time bomb. Reduced drastically now but the odd mistakes are still there. By next season, he should be a beast

A captain should be the one the rest of the players look up to. Luiz has got the passion for the role but he shouldn't rant at the referee - especially over something so trivial as a throw-in. The captain is the peace-maker between the team and the ref. It may have been the tipping point of a number of decisions but it was not a good example from Luiz. At this moment, I don't think anyone is a good fit to take over captaincy from the old guard but remember though, Luiz, Mata, Hazard, Azpilicueta etc have not been here long. Things could change in a year

Luiz had a good game driving Chelsea from the back but he did have one bad moment with Rafael - not the corner flag incident everyone's talking about - but the moment when Rafael cut inside and Luiz went walk-about leaving Ivanovic alone in defence. thankfully, Rafael's cross was deflected behind.
