  1. I am having doubts over those figures. Matt Law said the Chelsea asking price was 30m and no club matched it.
  2. Wondering if anyone knows if his visa issues are what's keeping him away
  3. In before we are 2-1 in the 75th minute against Rennes on final day needing a win to qualify
  4. Lampard's quotes suggest he's on his way too and there will certainly be interest for him.
  5. Yep. Makes me think there's a midfielder signing in the last few days
  6. Werner should play down the middle again with Havertz behind him. Hopefully, on Saturday we will see this. This season was always going to take a while to get going. Players don't have an attacking plan at the moment. The end of the game told you everything. Team held possession for a good few minutes but went nowhere with it except for side to side.
  7. Retain Malang Sarr and send Emerson and Alonso out? Or make Azpi backup LB. Just thinking of solutions in-house. Too much of a leap for Maatsen to take up that role.
  8. Collectively poor in the second half except for Kante who was fresh. Tough luck for Mount. Penalty is a lottery. Anyway, not bothered about Carabao Cup this year when the season is so packed. At least helps free up fixture congestion in December.
  9. This should end the Chilwell-Reguillon comparisons for a while
  10. Why play a full strength team? Spurs will definitely rotate with Thursday in mind. Can give gametime for guys like Ross, Oli and Tomori
  11. Funnily, if he had stayed at Chelsea, he could have gotten a chance at first team football when Kepa's form nosedived
  12. Why would Telles come and be a backup?
  13. Too dramatic this is. But it will still be tough to move either Emerson or Alonso before the window.
  14. Not happy with how this blew up but fair enough from Lampard. Coaches don't take behaviour like this. Everyone in the squad were in shock after the first half, even Lampard must have been seething. I see no issue with that emotion coming out at the end with Alonso.
  15. Yes, we have to acknowledge that the first three shots from WBA went in and two of them were casual turnovers and one was a setpiece. The issue is going forward against low-blocks. Three goals scored but so many attacks eventually turned to Reece James crossing. There's no midfield player confident enough to ping the ball down the middle and try to pick the lock. One of the few times they played down the middle was the Havertz pass to CHO for the second goal.
  16. Yep. Lampard so far has been a very reactionary manager. He has to find an attacking plan and stick to it. I hope he finally comes around to CHO in place of Tammy and Werner and Havertz through the middle. Eventually Pulisic Havertz Ziyech with Werner up front. Giroud/Tammy/Mount/CHO rotating. That is a solid set of options.
  17. Yep. Just feels like every few games, there's this discussion about Alonso. West Ham last season after the restart too.
  18. It is not just yesterday though. Lamptey ran rings around Alonso on opening day.
  19. So typical of Alonso to put in a respectable performance vs Liverpool when he barely ventured forward. But the moment he has to track back, his limitations are exposed I disagree with this. Alonso is bailed out mostly because of his contribution in attacks. I thnk Emerson is the better defender especially in a back four and he didn't catch a break in getting a good run of games with Alonso or Azpi preferred.
  20. Hudson Odoi is the only true wide player. Definitely needs to start
  21. FFS why are they shooting from distance. There are so many runners
  22. Even a draw would help lift the mood around the team
