  1. Real Madrid lead race to sign David Alaba but Liverpool interested too | Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/jan/05/real-madrid-lead-race-to-sign-david-alaba-but-liverpool-interested-too Shame. He'd be the perfect signing covering both LB and CB positions in one move.
  2. Going back in this thread for names - Nagelsmann, Hassenhuttl, Rodgers, Tuchel, Allegri, Enrique,. They would get more out of this squad than Lampard but is there someone who can build a winning machine or has the potential to?
  3. Lot of journos saying that as much as people are writing off Lampard, the board will wait before a potential sack. It was only after the city result that the first few pieces about Lampard's job being under threat were out. Its plausible that they give him till Leicester and then take the call when they have had time to figure out their main managerial target.
  4. I think its more to do with the admission that the club will give Lampard more time to turn this and sack him only when things are completely out of hand
  5. Law has a point. Despite the slide, the season is still alive. Lampard can get the next few games to implement changes. Job on the line now. I am very curious who will be on the shortlist of replacements
  6. that cross from Zinchenko before the Gundogan goal and the ball from KdB to Foden. I feel Liverpool/City have a variety and zip in their crosses. Chelsea is just spamming them into the box expecting Pulisic to score headers against Dias, Stones. Happens every fucking game
  7. Yes. Many pieces on Lampard mention this detail that he thought that getting the Chelsea job was something he couldn't pass up.
  8. Kante suspended for the next game. Time for him to be used for certain games, situations rather than a lock to start every game. Shocker today again
  9. Arsenal repeatedly played balls over the top on Azpilicueta's side in that game. One of them resulted in a pen.
  10. Game going ahead. Garcia was injured, didnt travel to London
  11. teams are targeting it with some success though. FA Cup final for instance
  12. Strange season - Chelsea are 7 points off the top, still think there's a long way to go with talks of a pause. I am keeping Hutcho levels of hope still that this season will turn around again
  13. Disagree, Grealish was running with the ball and Christensen charged in, missed the ball and got the man! Its a foul by Christensen on Grealish. So stupid to stay down after that.
  14. A day later, I am still angry about this. Christensen stayed down after blindly charging at Grealish and missing the ball, leaving the team short at the back for Villa's goal. A total embarrassment that he continued playing. Shouldn't be in the team even against Morecambe
  15. I think he will get the season unless the season goes into a tailspin
  16. Helps with access to the club. Athletic are not known for biting critique but more known for digging out details that otherwise wouldn't be explored. I feel the Guardian's weekly pod has steadfastly criticised Lampard and even during the winning run, one expert pointed out the quality of teams Chelsea have beaten and said they'd wait till the team plays better sides.
  17. Should be tighter at the back given how our form has been terrible
  18. Yep. Improvement in performance but should be seeing out the game at 1-0. Christensen, Azpi and Jorgi left the defense with a soft centre
