I've often thought, if I was a professional athlete, I'd just not have any social media. More headaches than upside. Dick pic posted = "hacked", why did you "like" this? Only an opportunity to say something stupid. No one cares about the 1000s of non-offensive tweets/posts. But, just 1 wrong one....

Not sympathy, really. Also, I think there's more to it than just on the pitch. If Cahill was VC last season, and he doesn't appear to be that vocal on the pitch, then he must be a very respected figure in the dressing room. I just think, in this particular situation, since Cahill has been captain (all of last season) and is a likely starter, that giving it to someone else is the same as stripping it from him. I just don't like the idea of taking it away from somebody.

I thin Luiz would be a great Captain. In fact, I selected him in the "next chelsea captain" thread a while back. Back in his first stint here. But, I you can't jump the queue. Cahill was vice last season, and wore the armband every match when Terry wasn't playing. I love Luiz, but you can't rock the boat with that stuff. Giving it to Luiz this season is like stripping it from Cahill.

I think he has some great potential. But, it would be a stupid move for everyone. He's not ready for our level yet and he won't get the playing time that he will at Everton.

He's going to Madrid. City can gazump us, but you can't do that to Madrid.

I can't see us getting him. I just don't see the need. Not that he isn't better than Cahill. But, we have lots of cover at CB and virtually none at CM and WB. If we are going to spend this kind of money it really should be to shore up those positions.

I think we were also paid 2-3M a season for the loan. Then the agreed purchase fee. I believe that we finished somewhere around break even, all said and done. Maybe a little lower or a little higher. But practically even. I think I recall this, might be wrong.

Doubt it. At another club? Probably. Here? Not really. We have Boga and Musonda as well. Depends how he gets on in training, I suppose. I just don't remember the last time we bought an "unknown" and he didn't go on loan (or was dumped 12 months later).

He just means that it's another one for the loan army and will probably be off to Vitesse if we sign him.

I didn't see the match, just the highlights. I did watch most of the pre-season matches last year though. Am I crazy for thinking we looked much better in this match than in any of the matches last summer?

I hope this deal goes through for PSG. In theory, they'd have to sell a couple of players to balance the books. I'd love to get Verratti or Rabiot. However, I'm concerned that after switching agents, it might pave the way for Verratti to Utd. That's no good.

Does this put us back in pole position for Danilo? Surely, City can't spend £140M on 3 fullbacks. That's beyond even FIFA career mode levels of ridiculousness.

In terms of squad role, yes, he'll get his minutes. But, we've lost Chalobah as well this window. 2 out, 1 in when we need more depth. Right now we've only got 4 CM.

Can't sell until a replacement is in. Haven't seen us linked to anymore midfielders so it may be a while.

I quite like Di Maria. If we could get him on the cheap, I think that he'd fit in well. Neymar isn't going to happen.
