Can we just get the winter window open now. We had to play Pedro at WB last season, still have no back-ups. What happened with Telles? I really don't know anything about him, but he's left footed and breathes, so it's better than what we have. Ricardo Pereira's name comes up on the forum once in a while and in the young player to watch lists. Again, I know nothing about him really, but I'll take unknown over nobody/known-crap who we seem to be constantly linked with.

Sure. I get it, he doesn't have to sign a contract if he doesn't want to play here, knowing that he'll be a RWB. The reason I brought up Milner is because he thought he was going to play as a CM at Liverpool and it didn't work out that way. So, basing your decision on where a team says they are going to play you isn't always how it ends up working out.

I thought Milner was generally played as a CM early in his career. He certainly had good spells at it with Villa and Newcastle. At City, his industry was used down the wing and they had a number of CM options by the time Milner left. If he's not willing to play or do whatever is necessary for the good of the team, then he's not needed here. He should maybe have a chat with James Milner a.k.a. the LB that joined Liverpool from City because he wanted to play in CM.

Okay. I'll be the first to say that this transfer is unexciting. But, big picture, we've been wigging out about the board's activity and saying that we need upgrades and depth. Bakayoko + Drinkwater >> Matic + Chalobah (and I'm a fan of Nate).

I was really hoping that with getting Ox, that we had checked the HG player box and would go for Sanches over Drinkwater. But, that doesn't look like it's the case.

I feel (maybe wrongly) optimistic about getting a few deals done. I think that some of it is a domino effect. If we can get Ox, then we don't necessarily have to get Drinkwater and have other options in CM. This is what I have to tell myself to stay positive until Thursday.

I was thinking, when the papers and Sky (all Liverpool ass kissers) were saying that Liverpool were favourites over Chelsea to sign Ox: If he moves to Liverpool instead of us I don't want him, and it's not sour grapes. If he moves there instead of here (assuming those are the only 2 options) then he has a loser mentality. If he doesn't want to challenge for trophies then he has no place in our squad. If he comes here, he should know or will find out soon that he has to put in 110% or he won't see the pitch. I hope he picks us. Also, if we can get him, we can maybe put this Drinkwater talk to bed and go for a non-HG player in CM.
