You misunderstood the Drogba reason. What I meant was if the club was willing to give Drogba a chance to play again as a squad player then they could have done the same with Lampard. I know we have many in midfield but surely we could've given him some game time in either the pivot or the number 10 role. As for the offers, I doubt he must have got any offer as good as City since they're in the Champions League.

Honestly we might never know but I highly doubt he would reject an extension because clearly he wanted to play another season in the premier league. According to me- We did not offer him an extension and he chose to go to the MLS but later changed his mind when he got to know about Drogba's return.

He's been tremendous for us but come to think of it, we always needed a player like him. Its a pity we could not sign Modric because he really would have improved our team back then.

Now the board will decide whether they want to stick with Messi or not and I am pretty sure that they will. I don't know about you guys but I feel Bale is massively underrated and unfairly criticised by his own fans. He's helped them win major trophies and yet does not get respected. If I were him, I would relish a move back to the premier league. I know it'll mean that he will join United but so be it. Real Madrid is just not the club for him.

If we sign him then I can see him be our third/second choice striker next season. He's 23 years old and so there is little chance of him being loaned out more than once. would be a good signing.
