There needs to be 'hate' between two clubs to be considered rivals? That's new! Arsenal and Man City are clubs considered to be challengers for the league title and they are pretty much title rivals even if there's no hate. Nasri joined City and that's not moving to a direct rival? Since when Fabregas chose to move because of money? He was frustrated by Arsenal's lack of success and wanted to return to Barcelona. Van Persie wasn't a bright talent? He was one of the clinical strikers around and his goals were the only reason why United won the title in 2012/13. Cech's move to Arsenal wasn't a major transfer? It didn't involve a lot of money but it was still big letting arguably our best goalkeeper joined a direct rival.

That much is obvious but is Sanches the solution to that? No.

Don't think you can really compare Morata's situation at Real with Sanches' at Bayern. The former had proven that he can perform and score goals but he just wasn't favored by Zidane, who preferred to play Benzema upfront. With Sanches, he has the potential to be one of the best midfielders but right now, he hasn't done anything to suggest he'll immediately displace Kante, Bakayoko and even Fabregas. I practically watched all the Bayern games last season and whenever Sanches played, he underwhelmed and did nothing like the complete midfield you're suggesting there.

He has the potential to be better but better now? No. To say he is better than our current midfielders when he's nowhere near a finished article is just ludicrous. If he is as good as you're making him out to be, then why hasn't he gotten more minutes at Bayern? Why are Bayern looking to loan (or even sell) him? On top of that, Sanches' future has been uncertain for some time now. If we really wanted him, we would have gone for him way earlier in the summer. The fact that we're looking at potentially signing him at this point and especially after signing Bakayoko suggest he'll be a backup.

Why would he want to go from one bench to another?

Can see where you're coming from but we're better off not comparing because we'll be lucky if we get leaders like Terry and Lampard again. Best to let Cahill/Azpi be their own man and see how they lead the team when needed.
