  1. Conte is reportedly asking for more wages than what Spurs are willing to offer. What a shocker!
  2. What Spurs could do though is sell Kane to City and then get Lukaku from Inter for potentially less than what they sell Kane for and use the remaining money to bolster 1-2 positions.
  3. Don't think anyone is after Son, which is kinda surprising but as for Kane, does he want to settle for another season challenging for the Top 4?
  4. It feels like you're like referring to someone specific there. 🤣
  5. I find it hard to believe that Conte would go to Spurs when the main reason he left Inter was because they have no money to spend and Spurs don't have money to spend either. Even if they do get the money by selling Kane, which top class player exactly are they gonna buy in return?
  6. Have created a forum for Euro 2020 under 'Community', including a thread for each group. https://forum.talkchelsea.net/forum/105-uefa-euro-2020/
  7. The person on Roman's left is his son, right? When I saw that bit on Saturday, I was thinking "wow, he is all grown up now after he was last seen celebrating like a mad man in Munich". lol
  8. I mean, I don't really care too much if Lampard gets the credit or not but I did see some people say elsewhere that if AVB wasn't credited for getting us through the group stage back in 2011/12, then Lampard shouldn't get the credit as well. The managers who have been sacked under Roman can be divided into two groups - one that got a top job elsewhere because of their reputation built elsewhere or over the years and one that didn't get a top job elsewhere because they aren't that good. In the former group, you have Mourinho, Ancelotti, Conte and even Sarri. In the latter group, you have Scolari, Grant, Di Matteo and AVB. Don't need for me to detail the former group but for the latter one, here's the list of jobs that each of them got after they got sacked by Roman: Scolari Bunyodkor (1 year) Palmeiras (2 years) Brazil (2 years) Gremio (1 year) Guangzhou Evergrande (2 years) Palmeiras (1 year) Cruzeiro (1 year) Grant Portsmouth (1 year) West Ham (1 year) Partizan Belgrade (4 months) Ghana (3 years) AVB Spurs (18 months) Zenit (2 years) Shanghai SIPG (1 year) Marseille (2 years) Di Matteo Schalke (1 year) Aston Villa (4 months) If Lampard can learn from his mistakes and improve as a coach/manager, then he would likely get another top job some day (maybe he'll get another crack at the job here again). If not, he'll forever be moving around the lesser clubs and his nationality as well as probably his reputation as a player will always get him a job somewhere in this country (bit like Steve Bruce).
  9. Only other club I can see now is PSG if Pochettino leaves. But on the flip side, it's Ligue 1. Will Conte be excited by the lack of competition in that league?
  10. Who the F cares? So many things didn't go our way either in the years before that. (for the record, am not mad at you for saying we got lucky in 2012 lol)
  11. So, with Ancelotti back at Real Madrid, where next for Conte then?
  12. Seriously, fuck anyone and everyone who said our 2012 was lucky. Considering the number of times we got screwed over by luck in the years prior to that - the ghost goal, the penalty shootout losses to Liverpool, Moscow, Ovrebo etc - the luck was more than deserved!
  13. Bayern and PSG might have the firepower but I'd also fancy our chances against them, especially PSG. Bayern played a ridiculous high line under Flick that was primed to get countered by us while PSG aren't all that wow beyond Neymar and Mbappe.
  14. Kante, Giroud and Zouma getting welcomed by the French players...
  15. TBF, Ancelotti does always feel too big of a manager for Everton. No offence. I know it's Real Madrid but a tad surprised he bailed out on Everton somewhat suddenly.
  16. I don't get the self entitlement here...
  17. WTF!? That has really come out of nowhere!
  18. There is more than one way to skin a cat. City won the Premier League, League Cup and got to the Champions League final basically without a striker. They didn't lose the final because of the lack of a #9 but because Guardiola went and complicated his approach for the game. Liverpool also won the Champions League and Premier League without a recognized #9 in Firmino. Of course, you need the others to score their fair share of goals (like Salah and Mane at Liverpool) but City and Liverpool have shown it can be done. And not to mention, Tuchel seems to like the front 3 being very fluid with their movement and like them to be interchangeable.
  19. Maybe the fact (assuming the rumors are true) that he wants a United move is what is causing the other teams not to bother with him...
  20. Spurs aren't going to sell Kane to us, lads. It's just like how we're not going to sell Mount to them if they come asking.
  21. 19 minutes worth of Chelsea Unseen here... https://www.chelseafc.com/en/videos/v/2021/05/31/how-Chelsea-became-champions-of-europe-again----unseen-extra-Oa7Nojfh
  22. The Athletic on our transfer plans... https://theathletic.com/2623498/2021/06/01/chelseas-summer-transfers-lukaku-hakimi-rice-options-as-tuchel-chases-a-few-top-class-players/ Summary: - Dortmund have ruled out a sale for Haaland, despite Chelsea having made efforts to improve relations with Raiola - Dortmund are prepared to sell Sancho but he is favoring a move to Man United - Tuchel would love to work with Kane but Spurs won't sell to Chelsea - Lukaku won't come cheap but is more realistic than Haaland and Kane. Will take some convincing as he is happy in Serie A, where he feels more appreciated than in the Premier League. The club will also have to make Lukaku their highest-paid player (more than Kante) and the club record buy to get him - Another option could be Lautaro Martinez but his profile might be deemed too similar to Werner's - Club also thinking of getting Hakimi, having scouted him heavily through his time as a youth player at Real Madrid and loan at Dortmund. He has been discussed extensively by the board, scouting department and Tuchel - Tuchel also keen to get a CB. Sule and Lacroix have been mentioned. Other options include Pau Torres and Kounde - Tuchel also an admirer of Rice and has been discussing him with staff members. West Ham don't want to sell, would take a big bid to convince them - Club could spring a surprise in goal. There is some truth to the Donnarumma links but would depend on finding a buyer for Kepa. Even a loan will be challenging due to Kepa's wages - Club will listen to bids for Barkley, Emerson, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Zappacosta, Batshuayi and Zouma. But Zouma's situation depends on what happens with the other CBs at the club (Rudiger's and Christensen's new contract) and/or the ability to get one of Tuchel's choices - Dortmund view CHO as a possible replacement for Sancho but no indication as yet that he wants to leave - Five returning loanees will be looked at in pre-season, including Gallagher - Turning to Guehi, Ampadu or Sarr would remove the need to buy another CB - Loftus-Cheek looks set for another loan move - Gilmour will have a choice to make over whether he goes out on loan to get more first team football, which could have an impact on Lewis Bate - Livramento worried about his chances of making a breakthrough due to the competition ahead of him, which could be made worse if someone like Hakimi arrive - PAOK trying to negotiate a permanent transfer for Baba Rahman following a positive loan
  23. Let the Jorginho to Lazio rumors begin...
  24. True. Forgot about that. That would certainly fit into the club's approach of buying young players and then maybe selling them for a higher value later on.
